"The Courtyard Estates of Girard was very nice and clean. The people there were very nice. It was a very positive experience. The rooms were very nice and very comfortable. The dining area was very clean and looked very adequate for the facility. The staff member who gave the tour was very helpful. She explained everything very well and was very pleasant. They had a salon, an outdoor fishing pond, and reading facilities throughout the building."

"I really liked Illinois Presbyterian Home. The time that I went to see them, they were building new duplexes and another apartment building, so I haven't gotten back there since those have been built. I liked that they're not-for-profit and the expenses were reasonable. The lady during the tour was really nice and she said that during the entire COVID outbreak they didn't have any COVID cases. She was very informative and very friendly. All the utilities and the meals are included. It was kind of a limited tour because of COVID, but the facility looked nice. It's central to places. It's not far from shopping and they're nearby restaurants."

"I once was at Seasons at Pine Creek. Their apartments had more space than where I am now, but they didn't offer amenities, like food and bus transportation. I quit driving, so I need those amenities now. The place was very nice. Everyone had their own patio on the ground floor. You could have a washer and dryer in your apartment. It was very impressive."

"I'm a resident of Seasons Under the Oaks. It's a very nice community. There's a vestibule where all the elderly come in the evening to visit and play cards. They have bingo every now and then. Every week, they have a schedule of different things that you can participate in. It's independent, so they do not supply meals."

"My overall experience with Timbercreek was very good. They were very kind. However, my mother needed more care than they were able to provide. The environment though was lovely. It was beautiful, very pretty. Their rooms were very pretty, probably the prettiest ones I have seen. "

"I lived at Brenden Gardens for 6 years. I liked it because it was clean, and the staff was great and informed; it made me feel comfortable. They had lots of activities. They take you shopping; they had something planned for every day. You don’t have to go, but it’s available if you want to go. I don’t think they had to have as many rules as there was, but I would recommend them for anybody. "

"Countryside Estates is small with only 22 or 24 apartments. It is very nice, but it is not a good fit for our mom. To my understanding, they only serve two meals, lunch and dinner, and once a month or once a week, they get breakfast, but that is not enough. On the weekend, there are only one or two staff members in the kitchen. Some people who live there still drive because they have their own cars, and they have parking garage. They don't have nursing care, but they have a call light in the bathroom that goes to the nursing home next door; however, they do not have a nurse on staff. They have some activities and have a Christmas party. They have a van that will take people to town, like to the bank or shopping, which is nice. You are more on your own out there. She spends too much time alone in her apartment and will deteriorate if she does not have social stimulation. It is not designed for what she needs right now. Five or 10 years ago, it would have been perfect, but not now."
