"We chose Independence Village because it was nice, it was in a good area that we knew and felt comfortable about, it's convenient to a lot of things, my mother knew the area fairly well because she lived in the area at one time, and the price was pretty good. Her accommodation was a studio with plenty of room, and it was nice. She was happy enough with it, never complained about it, and she said that she always got more than enough to eat. She really liked it; she really liked the people and everything. I know she talked about how they had a fashion show at one time, they had movies that they would go watch on special nights, and they had a library that she liked because she could go in there and read the paper every day. They had people come in and do music, and she really liked that. "

"What was most impressive about St. Augustine Manor is it's an all-in-one. Mom is Catholic and they have a beautiful church. It's a not-for-profit place and she's seriously considering it. Tiffany helped us and she was an excellent and wonderful person. Mom's looking for a covered garage and they have that. They have a laundromat, a beauty parlor, and they provide meals at an extra fee. The room that she looked at was pretty spacious. It had a full size refrigerator and a four top burner that did not have an oven, but there's another area where she can go and use the oven. It's very acceptable. It's reasonably priced and it has the amenities that she is looking for. They can take her to the doctor, and they have outings and social events. The food is catered."

"My parents ended up at Lutheran Hillside Village. We chose it because of continuum of care, so they will never need to move again. My dad ended up in skilled care and my mom is still in an apartment, and it's all under one roof. The apartment is beautiful and completely renovated before my mom moved in. The food is outstanding. The care is very good for my dad. It's very Christian-centered care. He feels very safe and secure, and it was reasonably priced. They do have long and short-term rehab there, so if my mom needs that, she can rehab right under the same roof. There are daily activities in skilled care, i.e., arts and crafts, movies, bingo, manicures and pedicures, something going at least twice a day to which the residents are invited to keep them engaged and active. On the independent side, they have lots of committees, outings, and daily activities, i.e., music, bus trips to the theater, to sporting events, and to museums. "

"My mom used to live in B'Nai B'Rith Apartments for ten years. It was convenient. She was able to get two meals a day, breakfast and dinner if she needed. On weekends, it is on their own for their meals, but there are meals offered Monday through Friday at the cafeteria. Entertainment would come in to entertain the seniors and they have different events, like bingo, they would go over to Iowa for a day to gamble or go somewhere down St. Louis for the day on trips. They had outings, they would go to Wal-Mart like three times a week and they would do Kroger's about three times a week, different things like that. The ones that didn't drive had a chance to go out and shop for themselves. The staff was fairly friendly and answered any questions or concerns. My mom had no problems with the maintenance or anyone in the office or even the kitchen staff. It's nothing like that. Everything was good. I think on Tuesdays and Saturdays they had bingo, and you could win tickets for the little gift shop. A few canned goods, toiletries, stuff like that, candy, soda, stuff like that and has its own laundry facility. I only eat breakfast with my mom. They were really good. The food was all freshly prepared. How everyone wanted their eggs, bacon, sausage, it was always cooked for you."

"I moved into Saxony Court Senior Living yesterday. I checked out other places and this one was the area I wanted to be, and the price was right. I like it so far. Good food and very friendly staff. This is a studio apartment. It's got a bathroom, shower, stove, refrigerator, and everything I need. It's clean and it's good. I like it."

"My mother is in Mel Hasty Retirement Center. It's a HUD facility. It's very clean. The managers are fantastic and very helpful. They keep it very clean and very nice. They're easy to work with. It's a good value for what you get. You can only make a certain amount of money to live there. It doesn't matter what you have in the bank, but it's based on what income you have each month. It's independent, but she's got great neighbors who help take care of her. The staff members are so helpful. It's a very clean and happy environment. They don't have food there. They do bingo and sometimes they do karaoke. They used to do more before COVID, but my mom moved in during COVID. I think they still do potlucks once in a while. I like the fact that it's a locked facility, not anybody can walk in, and they do have laundry services."

"My mother is in Pekin Manor, and for the value I'd say they are excellent. She was in the bounce-back program and the physical therapy is very good. The staff is very attentive to the needs of anybody that's there. The living quarters are adequate. I have been there when she was eating, and the food looks good. The community is a little older, and has been there a long time. It's skilled nursing so there's a lot of therapy twice a day. As far as activities, they have people who come in and sing, and things like that."

"I was very impressed with Holly Brook, they were very compassionate, and took good care of my husband when he was there. The room was fine, it was a double room, but at that time there was no roommate. They have bingo, but I don’t think he participated. The facility is very nice, it’s new, and the staff was very helpful and cooperative."

"We live in a cottage for the past 3 and a half years. It is the best decision we ever made to move while we were still able to make our own decisions. Snyder helped us with our move and because our house sold so fast it was unbelieveably chaotic! They gave us the name of an organizer and she was with us all the way thru even to having blue prints on the walls of our cottage showing the movers where to put our furniture. She helped us thru what could have been a really confusing time. I can't say enough good things about my home and the town has everything I need even band concerts in a historical square. Thank you Snyder for making our life so comfortable! "

"I moved to Maple Lawn Homes, and I liked the cottage I moved into. I felt I was leaving one home and going into another, which had a garage and several rooms, even though it was smaller than the house I left. That's what turned me on to this home, besides living in an apartment. They supply a dishwasher, a microwave, a stove, and a washer and a dryer. When I moved in, it was clean and repainted. I have a fan in my bedroom and living room, which is nice. I'm on one level, but I have an extended balcony where I can sit outside. The staff does the landscaping around my house for me and everything like that. I'm in a cottage duplex, so I have my nearest neighbor. Her garage is attached to mine. There's a group of houses like that and then individual houses that you can buy in as a community, but I wasn't interested in that. I have a dog, a cat, and a bird, and I was allowed to have all of them without restrictions. I've only encountered two staff members who introduced themselves to me. One was the maintenance man who set up my TV. He came with a lady and introduced her, and she was the landscaper. Everybody's been very helpful."

"My mother was treated with any overwhelming amount of love, care and compassion. The tenant assistants went out of their way to make sure she had everything that she needed and more. They assisted with making sure her medications were correct, she was clean, her tummy was full, her bed was made, her laundry clean, and most importantly, she was comfortable. Yes, she would have preferred to remain in her own home, but that was no longer an option. We wanted to be sure she was safe and someone would be there for her when she needed them. The building is immaculate, the staff is knowledgeable and compassionate and the care is bar none. I would recommend CYE over and over again."

"I was given a tour of these facilities by Mr. Rossi, the COO of the facility. He gave us a tour of the nursing home, the assisted living facilities, the hospital, and the wellness center. The whole facility felt like an oasis, as it was very modern in the middle of rural Illinois. We met several of the staff, who were all very friendly. Mr. Rossi explained that their nursing home and assisted living facilities aim to take care of aging people who are comfortable in a rural setting.The town of Hopedale was small, but the Hopedale Medical Complex was large. Despite this, the atmosphere was very inviting. Even the modern spaces, like the new wellness center, felt inviting and welcoming like the town of Hopedale itself.I was impressed by Mr. Rossi and his staff. They seem very committed for providing quality service and care to the people of Hopedale and the surrounding communities. "
