"We visited several facilities in the area, looking for the right place for our parents, age 94 and 98. They had lived in their home for 56 years, but it had 4 flights of stairs and was becoming more and more dangerous for them. We were impressed by the compassionate and friendly staff and the engaging and friendly residents as well as by the facility itself. While in their home, Dad had gone to daily Mass until he could no longer drive. He missed that. The chapel in Franciscan Village made it possible for him to renew that daily joy. Because a larger unit was not available when we wanted to move, the Administration at FV offered a smaller unit until the larger one would be available. Further, Franciscan Village has 3 levels of care available--independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. As it turned out, Dad had a stroke in early March and was moved to Mother Theresa skilled nursing facility. Mom was able to walk to visit him whenever she wanted. It was a blessing. And when he passed a month after his stroke, residents and staff reached out to Mom in any number of ways to help her navigate this tsunami. We're VERY grateful that we found Franciscan Village and moved Mom and Dad when we did. And we're VERY grateful that Franciscan Village is the caring, compassionate place we believed it to be. "

"I would say it is excellent. The layout is very conducive to my mom having to use a wheelchair and needing assistance at times. The care that I've observed is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, kind, and willing to go out of their way to help. My mom reports that the food is delicious and she has no complaints or concerns. She's in their assisted living and she has used the salon. The woman there was very helpful and accommodating. She even stayed longer to give my mom a haircut so we appreciate that she worked around my mom's schedule. I think it's a wonderful community for someone that needs assistance. It also offers various levels of care. My mom is highly functional, so she doesn't require as much assistance but knowing that somebody is there when she needs assistance is comforting."

"The staff at Tinley Court was very, very accommodating, very knowledgeable, very friendly, and warm. They showed us the one-bedroom and studio units they had and they were all very spacious. The one-bedroom was the one that we fell in love with. You can eat off the floor because it was just that clean. They also let us know all the activities that were offered there. Some of the activities were going on as we were touring."

"I toured this community for my parents. From the minute I stepped in the front door and met Nathan, it was like meeting a best friend! The residents were all smiling and engaged either in activities or with each other! It was such a comfort. Nathan explained with clarity every question I asked and adressed my concerns and anxiety. This is a hard phase for “the child” and he made me feel like part of his family and community!"

"It was very nice. This is the one place that did have the washer and dryers in the apartment. The apartments were good size, it had a full kitchen, it was clean, and it was updated. It was not the place for my mother because they didn't have Spanish-speaking residents. But it was a very nice and that was the only issue I found with that place. I talked to Kathleen. She was very nice, very polite, and she walked me around and showed me the different units and explained to me what features were included in the unit, like the meals, different games and things that they could do. I think they have an area for a salon. She walked me through the place and she spent a lot of time talking to me so that I understood what was going on. But to me one of the most important thing is the unit my mother will live in. The unit was beautiful. They were updating the units and so they were very nice, clean and bright. They had windows, full kitchen, a nice bedroom, living room, dining room area, they had a washer and dryer right there by the bathroom. So I thought it was very nice. The bathroom was nice and big, so if you needed to get a walker in or a wheelchair, you can do that. I think their eating area was nice. If I remember it correctly, they even had nice white table cloths on the table. They also have bingo, dominos, reading, exercises, Wii bowling, and church activities. "

"Sunnymere was very nice and clean, but it was more like a nursing home. The rooms weren't big. They put two bedrooms together to make it like a suite, so you could have a sofa in one room and your bed in the other. They had a stool and a sink to wash your hands and go to the bathroom, but you would have to go down into a main shower to take a shower. I only saw one shower stall in there. The residents seemed to be having a good time. They were having wine and hors d'oeuvres when we were there. The property was beautiful, and it backed up to a golf course. The staff was very nice. The dining area was nice, and they had a little bar setup. Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. We saw people with needs and some people hopping in their car and going shopping. They offered a full package with all your meals, laundry, and dining. They had movies, activities, and housekeeping."

"Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge was clean and very friendly. I liked the rooms. I liked the activities they had. When I look at a place, I look for the smell, the hospitality, the cleanliness, and the environment. The staff has been following up with me. I didn't see anything out of place. They have a dayroom where they get together."

"My husband and I research 6 different multi-level care communities. Our decision to come to Monarch Landing had to do with their care plans, the location, the beautiful well-maintained campus, indoor parking, indoor pool, but MOST OF ALL, the staff and residents who are so very friendly and helpful. We do not regret our decision one bit. We do not miss our previous home and all the work that came with it. We are both in our early 70's and are so happy we made our decision early enough to adapt easily and to enjoy many of the amenities that are offered. We are both very active and enjoy the pickleball group, the pool/water volleyball and using fitness center. Our grandkids nearby love to come eat in the cafe with us and swim at the pool. We participate in other things as well. We love the unit we are living it. It is light and bright and we are happy to call Monarch Landing "Our Home.""

"Jennings Terrace was clean and the people were friendly. The girl that gave me the tour was very friendly, very good, and thorough as to what goes on there daily. It was easy to get around in there. It was all on one level. I looked at the menu. They post what they are having every day. The facility looked good. It's an older building, but it was clean."

"Had the opportunity to visit this Community for my Dad. We loved the size and the affordability of the apartments. The staff is so friendly and welcoming! My Dad really enjoyed his meal. This is a must see!"

"I toured The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. The place was simply gorgeous. The people were very kind. Even the young lady that conducted the interview (her name was Hillary), was very feral and very informative. She gave us a tour upstairs and the place. It just looked like you were at home. Very warm, comforting, and clean. Just very nice. This was the first time my parents had even considered looking at senior living. I had my mother with me at that time, and she was very impressed with what we saw. All the common areas were nice. I have nothing bad to say. It was clean. It smelled good. I didn't smell anything bad. Everything was in order."

"Everything that we saw at Autumn Green at Midway Village was fine. The apartments were beautiful and spacious. The hospitality on our tour was very good. Melissa was a great hostess. They offered us lunch, but the food was kind of bland. They had a courtyard, a library, a game room, a dining room, and a theater."

"I visited a friend in Cantata Adult Life Services in Brookfield. It was called The British Home. He is in assisted living. He is completely handicapped. It's wonderful. They have bus service available. They seem to give him very good care. I believe the cost there is a little more than I can afford. He's a little better off money wise than I am. The meals are quite good. He doesn't complain. They even give them extra bacon when he likes it. He's very happy with the meals, and they seem quite nice when I was there. I didn't eat there, but he's very happy with them. It's a very clean facility and it has been around forever. It's a very nice facility. It's an older facility (at least the original part). They have activities for the residents. They have a gym, and they have sponsored outings. He's very happy there. It's always been an excellent facility. The staff members were very nice when I visited him. The only thing he doesn't like is that they follow his diet, and they won't give him sweets. He doesn't really partake on activities because he is kind of a loner. They basically get him out of bed, and they wheel him. He sits out in the dayroom. As far as group activities, he doesn't partake of that. It's not his thing."
