"Solstice Senior Living at Palatine was a very nice place and it was within walking distance of a few shops and the train station. They had some nice activities. The rooms were very nice. They had a nice kitchen in them. The staff was very nice and accommodating as well."

"The Grand is a hidden "Gem" the 1 bedroom apartment was huge and beautiful - You can fix a King size bed and bed room set, the bathroom had double sinks and step in shower, the kitchen was big and open with a lot of cabinet space, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and microwave. The Grand provides 3 meals a day, there is a pool, exercise room and a BIG Theatre. The Grand Bar is open daily from 3-5 and The Grand is pet friendly. "

"The staff were very friendly. Everyone seemed very happy, not only the staff but the residents. There are smiles on their faces. Most of them were engaged in an activity. The rooms were nice sized, not overly spacious, but just enough. They had a nice little kitchenette, a nice-sized bedroom, and a bathroom. The dining area looked comfortable. It had tables all setup. The menu looked good and had nice options. It's more like a restaurant. The indoors were very nice. Everything's good and very comfortable. They had mahjong and bingo and one was sitting in the library at that time."

"It is clean, the people are friendly, and the staff takes care of my mother. She's very happy and enjoys the place very much. The people there all seem pleasant and she has had no complaints. Her room is basically like a hotel except you furnish it yourself, and she has a small kitchenette. They provide three meals and they have a bus that takes her into town so she can go to Walmart or get a haircut if she wants to. They also have a haircut facility in the community as well. My mother also likes the food. They could use another elevator. It's a three-story building with lots of people and only two elevators, and everyone uses the elevators. They go on outings and trips, bingo, and other activities."

"When I walked in the front door of Belmont Village Glenview, I immediately felt at home. It felt welcoming. It did not feel sterile. It felt comfortable. One thing I was impressed with is that they have such longevity in staff and most of their people have been there 10 plus years. They have physical therapy, which was very important to me. They also have a book club, and movie nights, bingo, and they have activities where you can sign up and be taken off the premises like field trips."

"The rooms a spacious and well maintained. Food is customized My mother in law has been a resident for over 3 years and enjoys everyday which is filled with activities and fellowship."

"It was the one I liked. The whole place was impressive, big, and had a beautiful lobby. The person that took me around and showed me the room was a very nice, friendly lady. I had a good feeling about the place. They had bingo, cards, a ping-pong table, Wii bowling, and a pool. People came in to entertain the patients by singing or just talking. They just had everything there. They served three meals a day. You could drive to doctors if you had a car, but they also had a shuttle that took people to their doctors’ appointments, Wal-Mart, or Walgreens."

"I think its dining area and rooms are very good. The grounds are very well kept. They have a church and a nurse that visits the rooms. They also have activities, like bingo, holiday parties, and different things like that."

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"The Merion was at the top of my list. I met the sales person. He was very friendly, very open, and answered all of my questions. He was not a hard sell at all. The apartments were a little disappointing, though. The older building was less expensive but you're also paying for a furnished apartment. The new section was very modern, which I really liked, but it was a little bit more expensive. For the meals, they surpassed the other community. The food was excellent. Also you can eat at any of one of their restaurants, which all serve something different. They have a piano or a bar lounge, which is open to the public. They allow them to come in and enjoy meals, drinks, and music. It is more open, so it's a big plus."

"Autumn Green at Wright Campus was very comfortable. The apartment was a good size. They had motion sensors in the apartment, so if there's no motion within so many hours, they'll check on you, which is nice. They had a sprinkler system in case of fire. Size-wise, everything was good, and my friend really liked it. The staff was very nice. The dining area seemed very relaxed. It didn't seem like a café; it seemed more like you're having dinner in your dining room. It was a very comfortable setting. They had quite a few activities. There was an outside area, but it was raining that day. We didn't go outside at all. One side of the building is facing the football field at the new Taft High School, so if you're into football, you get front row seats for the games."

"My dad moved into The Atrium at Oak Crest Residence. The people that work there have been really great. They're friendly. Whenever I had issues or things I needed to bring up, they addressed it right away. So, it's also relaxed. And they're always making sure that my dad is getting involved with stuff. He's not just sitting in his room. So, it feels like a small community. It's not a huge facility, so it feels like everybody knows everybody and they know what's going on. And I can talk to whomever, so I think it's been good. The facility is clean. There's an older part and a newer part, and it's well taken care of. But it's not like fancy or anything. So, it's a very basic place, which is fine. It's what my dad needed. So, if you're looking for something fancier, this isn't the place, but it is a good basic facility. It has a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere."

"My father moved to Concord Place. He's in independent living with just a couple of needs for assistance. They're under a renovation right now on their main floor, but it's moving along, and it should be done in the next couple of weeks. The move-in process was pretty easy. They have a move in coordinator that helps with the whole process, and just made it really, really simple. The staff were super friendly, extremely helpful, and just really super awesome people. We tried the food on our first day. My sister and I helped move them in, we received complimentary meal tickets, and we were able to have lunch with my dad. We can have meals at any time with him that we choose, and there's a $5 fee for the meal. We thought that the food was good, it wasn't like what you would consider normal hospital food. It actually was pretty good. They have a lot of activities that they do every day. They have an event calendar and there's just so many things that go on every single day. There's basically something for everyone to do whatever they like, so the community is bustling. My dad is currently in a studio, but they also offer one-bedrooms. It was nice, it's just your basic room with carpeting, and then he's got a full bathroom. Because they're assisted, the bathrooms have the handrails and hold bars. It was clean when we moved his stuff. It seems to be pretty quiet because we really don't hear too much in his room. He seems to like it so far, and he seems to be acclimating quite nicely. Since they're renovating the main floor, they ripped out all the carpeting to make it easier for walkers and wheelchairs. I went there twice to tour before we made the decision. Their construction is coming along quite nicely."
