My father has moved into Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It was great. It was very easy to get a tour and very easy to sign a lease. Everybody that works there knows all the residents. They are very kind to the residents. It is just a very clean facility and easy to get around. He is in a one-bedroom apartment. They have bingo, games, and movie days. Once a month, they have a red carpet ceremony. They do a different theme every month where they have h'ordeuvres and champagne for the residents. They go on some day trips. Recently, they went to an apple orchard, and there is another one coming up. They have a salon and an exercise room. They have a few little gathering rooms. You could actually rent a room and have a party of your own free of charge. They have onsite laundry for free, onsite physical therapy, and an onsite chapel. You can't beat the money.

We toured Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It was absolutely great. It was fantastic. It would meet my dad's needs for sure. We saw the rooms and we saw the dining area, but that really isn't a lot. There is more to look at there. There are a couple of different options, one being a studio versus a separate one-bedroom. They're small. It was clean. It looked like there was sufficient space for a single person. The bathroom, it's a good size. The staff was great and friendly. There's a receptionist when you come in as well. She's also very friendly and helpful. The person who ran the tour was accommodating, and friendly, spent time discussing, took us on a tour, and provided information. I think it would be a nice location for somebody being downtown Palatine. It is close to the community and it would have been closer to us.

We went to Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. They have a very enthusiastic senior director who's in charge of intake. Very nice gentleman. He met with me one-on-one in March, and I brought my mom back to visit in April. We've discussed this individual spot, one-bedroom in the 600-square-foot range, and the pricing was reasonable. It seems like people are happy and comfortable and well taken care of. The staff seem very responsive. There were additional ancillary services on a pay-as-you-go basis and doctors or therapist coming on-site, so there were some pluses. I have a very positive impression of it.

I visited Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It was a very bright and cheery place. I was impressed. The staff is attentive, and the administrator who showed me around was very kind and informative. I like their program where they have all the additional support. It was at the top level of what my dad could afford. They have a TV room and a game room. The dining hall was a restaurant-style and my dad was given a choice of what he could have for each meal. It was a nice community atmosphere.

I will be moving into Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. I love the place. As soon as I walked in, they had a welcome sign for me. It was just so warm. The place was so clean and everybody was so nice. It was exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to be on the third floor and it's just perfect because there is an elevator, they have a chapel, a beauty shop, a library, and a game room. It's just everything that anybody would want to imagine having there and this will be my first time. I've never had to live by myself, but being in this community, I don't feel alone. There were so many people. The dining area looked beautiful, and everybody was just so kind. Three meals are included. If I have any guests, they are more than welcome to have a meal. It's so clean. You could eat off the floor in the hallway. Everything was just perfect.

I went to Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. Their location was great. Their apartments were perfect. Their amenities were great. The only thing is that the activities and stuff were on different floors. The staff was very friendly, enthusiastic, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The facility was great. They had a library, a crafts room, a movie room, a chapel, a salon, and a gym. It was a very nice facility.

My cousin moved into Solstice Senior Living at Palatine, and it had that community feel. It's located in a neighborhood that feels a little more home-like. They have five floors, and on each floor, there are different opportunities for my cousin to be engaged with the rest of the community. They have different game rooms, a workout facility, physical therapy, and different living areas with TVs. They had all of the amenities that we were looking for. They offered food while we were there during the two tours we took, which was very nice. The staff members are very helpful, very good with my cousin, always willing to answer our questions, and very supportive. My cousin's favorites are bingo and poker. They have other different games that they play. They have local parks that they go to across the way. There's a park where they often have live music, and they take part in that. They usually go on little outings to have lunch, and my cousin is definitely food-oriented, so he was very happy they had that as well. They have a brilliant activities director who works with each of the residents. They have a monthly resident meeting where they go over all the different things they could do in the community. The prices they offered us were great. Compared to other locations in the area, they are less expensive.

We thought seriously about Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. They were very accommodating trying to help us to get a place there together. They had a discounted rent price, and it was a little extra for me to live with my mom. The reason why we didn't choose that was because the dining room has a slope to get into it. It's a pretty steep slope, and my mom has a wheelchair. And sometimes I would not be available to take her. They have supportive services you can hire to do that. We also wanted my mom to be more independent and able to get in and out on her own. We liked the people that were showing it and trying to help us. They were very kind and welcoming. They offered three meals. We didn't eat them, but the fact that they had three meals is good.

My mom is currently at Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It's an independent living and they don't have other levels. It's clean and neat. It's not a luxury building or anything like that but it's clean. They have activities too. I guess the one minor downside is that they have two hallways and my mom ended up being in an apartment that's at the end of the hallway so it's kind of a long walk from the elevator. Aside from that, it's fine. They have different kinds of games like bingo, scrabble, and whatever else seniors play. They have movies, church services, and celebrations for different holidays and birthdays. They have in-house caregivers, it's a separate company, but they have an office in the building for their services. You set up a plan of care through them. They also have another separate company, they have an office in the building, for home health. My mom's been receiving caregiver services and it's been really helpful. The dining area is neat and clean. My mom hasn't complained about the food, so they usually offer a pretty decent variety. We're fortunate that we can afford it, it's cheaper than a lot of places, and you get a lot included. However, if you're only making like $1200 a month, you're not going to be able to afford it.

My dad will be moving into Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. The person who took us on our tour was very helpful and friendly. Everyone in there was friendly. The place was clean. It smelled nice. It had all of the amenities we were looking for. When we left our tour, we got a thank you card and that just showed that they really care. They provide transportation. They provide meals. They provide laundry like washing your bed sheets, and they clean once a week. Everything is taken care of. They have a gym, a salon, and areas for the residents to hang out. I saw some of the residents walking down the hallway and they were smiling. They were friendly as well.

We chose Solstice Senior Living at Palatine for my mom because of the cost, and because it was nice and affordable. The staff is great and were all very nice. Everyone that lives on the property seems to be friendly and nice. They have a map of the activities there. They have bingo, crafts, and a walking group. There are quite a lot of things to do. It seems to me that the rooms were a little outdated, but it's definitely clean and kept up well. They only have independent living and she's only been in there for a month.

Solstice Senior Living at Palatine was too small. It felt very small and crowded. They didn't have two bedrooms. I do quilting, and I need that kind of space. Everything else seemed to be OK, but it was just too small for me. The staff was very nice and personable. I liked them. They were very helpful and gave me a lot of information. If it had been a little larger, it would be a place I would consider. I toured the apartment, but it just felt too small for me. Also, I thought it was expensive. I am a senior and I have Social Security and retirement, and I don't think I'm qualified for any assistance, so it was expensive for me there. The dining area looked quite adequate. They have some nice amenities, but it was farther away from my sister than I wanted to be. I met the man who gave me the little tour and talked to him about the apartment, and I thought he was fine, but I didn't need any other staff. It looked very nice and well-kept. It's an older building, but I thought it was well cleaned.

I visited Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. The tour was great and very informative; I loved the place. She was always trying to answer all my questions, and I was very impressed with the place. I saw a lot of the apartments. Then at the end of the tour, they gave me a piece of the dessert to try. It's independent living, but they have an ala carte level of care for any extra caring that you need. They have utilities with the price of the condo. They have a promotion this month. They have utilities, cable, and Life Alerts. They have three square meals a day. They have snacks down there and fruit juice in the dining area. They have a calendar, where it has all things that they do. They have a physical therapy room and sites. There's an office for their staff that organize the in-home care for anything, like if you need blood drawers, physical therapy, or whatever kind of home care you may need. They help organize all that for the family. There are busses that take you to the doctor appointments, and they help organize and all that. It was a lot to absorb, but I definitely loved it. There was a little store that's open. They have a workout room, a sun deck, sitting rooms, and they're kind of off to the side. There's a room you can rent; I was super impressed. It's a lot different than an assisted living facility; totally different. This is more like just a normal apartment building. It has a totally different feel to it. It is more like an apartment building, but you have everything in there that you need.

The last place I went to is called Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. They are undergoing some renovations. One of the units that they showed me was a two-bedroom unit, and it was very spacious with a lot of good storage. I think those would be the pluses, but it was my least favorite of the three that I toured. We toured at the end of the day, so we were tired and the staff was tired and just was not having a good day. Most of what she had to say almost felt like it was more focused on her than on how can she help. They were undergoing renovations, so it's kind of hard to be fair in judging because different places were kind of torn up and seemed old and not as bright and clean as the other two places. The staff said that it was formerly an apartment building and it felt like it was just an apartment building and not really what I consider to be a retirement home. She spoke about transportation to shopping and things like that, but it didn't seem like they had as much to offer as the other two places did. The rooms were larger and the two-bedroom unit that she showed me felt like it had more storage than our own homes, which is not true, but it just felt like it at the moment.

PLEASE READ !!!!! For the past 25 years my aunt has lived at Solstice, which used to be Tamarac. Over the years the facility has starting to fall apart. They have a hot water issues, where all the water in the showers only has hot water. Residents have burnt themselves. They had a water pipe break and running water leaked in the walls for days before it was corrected. Mold has already stated growing and no corrections action have been taken. This is not a healthy environment for anyone to be living in. Solstice is not doing anything to correct these actions and several others. Some of the staff is friendly, but the facility is poorly managed. My Aunt was inquired on the property during operation hours. No one contract the family about the accident. She required a major surgery from this accident. They do not watch other residents. It it our familied opinion that a another home would be better suited for your love one. Please do not choose this facility.

Solstice Senior Living at Palatine is currently remodeling, and everybody was very nice, very friendly, and the people we met either in the hallway or going up and down the elevators were all smiling and said hello. The staff was very nice. They have some studios, but we looked at a one-bedroom, and they provide three meals a day, therapy is available on site, quite a few activities, very nice apartments, and very adequate storage in them. The dining room was very nice too. We got to taste the food, and it was good.

Solstice Senior Living at Palatine is strictly rental. I went there to visit my friend. It's a nice apartment; the one I saw was a 1-bedroom. It's a little bit older. The kitchen was very nice, but a little dated. It had everything you needed though. What I liked about it was the hallways were wider and more spacious. They also have a lot of activities. They have a dining room, and I understand that the food is pretty good. The staff was very friendly. I also went on a real tour with one of the staff. It's a very nice facility and much more affordable than the other place I saw. They have a much more reasonable rent.

We chose Solstice Senior Living at Palatine for my mom. It was geographically close to us, and we liked the facility. The staff is very good and very attentive. She was not thrilled with the food, but they just fired the chef, so they were addressing that. Her room is very nice, and has a lot of room. They do have several activities, but because of COVID, it's very limited right now. They have a gym. The facility is very well maintained, it's good value, she's paying what she paid for a studio, but she's getting 1-bedroom, better food, smaller, better maintained, and a nice area.

We did an actual tour of Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It was old and dingy; it was very old-looking. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and she followed up. However, the facilities were nowhere near the other place; you couldn't compare between the two. They had some of the same amenities, but we didn't pay attention once we saw the building, started looking inside, and saw the apartments. It was so old and dingy that we were kinda dismissive at that point. They need to really modernize the facility. They need to update it because it is very outdated.

This independent senior living community is wonderful. It is beautifully cleaned and they offer engaging activities for all to enjoy. I like that fact that my grandma can get assistance if she needs it in the future. The staff is warm and genuine and they are attentive as well. The food is good and I am very happy with the overall experience. I would recommend this to any senior looking for a great community!

The director at Solstice Senior Living at Palatine was fantastic. We're very impressed with him. The only reason I would've considered going there was because of his excellent ideas for how he was going to improve things and what he has done already as far as upgrading some of the units. However, the dining room was kind of gloomy and when you come up, the entrance had chairs with residents sitting out in front, which was not a wonderful greeting. The entrance needs to be made open, more welcoming and there has to be another place for people to sit if they want to sit outside. As you're driving up, it's hard to even get in because of so many chairs sitting out there. The lunch we had was okay. It's the least expensive of any of the places we looked at.

We were not impressed at all. The building was much older, and the room wasn't something we wanted to think about. The staff who assisted us was fine; she presented everything they had, but we just did not care for the facility. They did have some activities, there was an activity room where they could do crafts, and there were ladies in the beauty shop. The dining area was clean, neat, and bright.

I visited, which was in my neighborhood. It was an older building, but it was clean and convenient, and they have their own bus for transportation if you needed to visit your doctor. I found the units to be very small with no washer and dryer inside. It was reasonable and not exceptionally expensive. The associate who showed me around was very informative. There were big rooms for activities, like entertainment, to play games, or to have a speaker. I also saw the dining area which looked very nice.

I was impressed. The rooms were very nice. They have activities like outings but my sister did not participate too much in their activities. It was a very nice place. Everyone was friendly and accepting of the new person. I enjoyed the people there. The thing that I was unhappy about personally was that the laundry was only on the floor and not in the apartment. They also do not provide parking, and that was important to me at that time. They have noisy air conditioning and also lack storage units; those were the negative things.

My friend has already been placed here. The rooms are nice. The staff is good. The dining room does leave a little bit to be desired. They should have a wider variety of food. Sometimes at night, they just order pizzas out for everybody, and it is not really a treat when it is done a couple of times a week.

The one I like the most of the facilities I've visited is here, but it just didn’t suit our needs. The only issue that we thought it wouldn’t work for us is the security issue. I don’t want my dad to wander off and they don’t have security. As far as the facility itself, we love it. Everything was clean and they offer a lot of activities. The rooms were of nice size and the price was OK.

Everything looked fine. The staff was very accommodating. We had lunch there and then I went a second time and I brought my daughter with us and she also thought it was nice. The food was good and they had a nice selection too. The dining area wasn't really that big, but there was enough room for the people and it had good service because of their waiters and everything. It was pretty good. The residents that we saw and came in contact with seemed to be happy and satisfied.

It is a wonderful community for people you love and care about to live. The staff was cheerful, kind and considerate. They developed a sense of community amongst their residents by always having many different activities. My Grams is a foodie, I was delighted to find the food they served was restaurant quality, served on china in a beautiful dining room. Of course they could take their meals in their apartments, but my Grams really looked forward to meeting her new friends for meals. They also had rooms our family could use to have parties, We had a Christmas Party with over 50 people. My Grandmother's apartment was charming, cozy, but spacious. It has beautiful, built-in bookshelves in the living room, lots of windows, a dining room big enough for Gram's dining room furniture. A kitchen, with all the amenities a cook needs. Her bedroom was spacious and conducive for resting. Her bathroom was outfitted with all the necessary equipment, even her shower was special in that it had a chair, and a hand nozzle that was easy for her to use. They have amenities such as a beauty parlor, exercise machines, a chapel, and lots of caring staff. My grandmother could not be in better care.
