"The apartment is beautifully appointed and ready to move in. Everyone that mom has encountered has been friendly and caring and that includes staff and residents. They go out of their way to make sure she feels seen and taken care of. She enjoys the dining room because she has very nice meals and gets to meet new people every time she goes. Change is difficult, especially as you get older, but the staff has made mom's transition smooth."

"We liked Grand Victorian of Crystal Lake, and they still keep in touch, which is kind of nice to know how they're doing. It's just that my dad does require some extra care. It's typically supposed to be one person assisting all the time, but he has at least two people assisting right now. I liked the size of the rooms. They're really nice. They made it feel more like an apartment than a room. Their dining room was very nice and well-kept. They had many servers. The food looked good. We did not eat it, but we were touring while they were eating, and it looked like it was very well maintained. Claudia did a great job with the tour and staying in touch. She's very kind, very caring, and took the time to show us everything we needed to see and answer all our questions."

"My wife liked Sedgebrook as they had larger rooms. They have a big bed and lot of furniture. The staff was very nice but the place cost a fortune to get into. You don’t rent the unit nor buy it, you lease it. You give them a huge loan and they keep until you die or move away and then you get 90% of that loan back. Then you pay a monthly fee on top of it. We had several meals there and the food is very good. They only give you one meal a day and you can pick whatever meal that is, most people pick dinner. The food is great I can’t complain about that. They got many activities and that’s another reason we picked the place, They have everything under the sun. If I like to sing they have a choir. They have lectures, game rooms and exercise rooms. "

"I met with Martha at Brookdale Vernon Hills and I liked what I saw and I'm considering it. Everybody I met was very helpful and very knowledgeable. I liked the place in general. It's very nice and clean and has modern decor. I liked the fact that there's a swimming pool and jacuzzi and sort of atrium that has waterfalls. That's kind of what drew me to check it out. It's a good, relaxing area. I looked at three different room sizes, but I'm looking mainly at a two-bedroom, two-bath. They have someone at the front desk 24 hours, but they don't have the nursing 24 hours."

"I can't begin to put into words the gratitude and appreciation I and my family all have for the wonderful care my mother receives. You know and do things that are special to her from smiles to rereading letters from family to sharing words of care and a helping hand during meals. The list could go on. "We toured Hearthwood Senior Living. I liked the place, but my mom needs more care than independent living. We had a fantastic tour, and that was a fantastic community, but a little expensive for my mom. She would not have been able to get the care she needed there at this time in her life. The person I met with was great. The cleanliness and the layout were great."

"My mother has been a resident in assisted living at StoryPoint for approximately 8 months and I am extremely pleased with the care she has been receiving. This past Winter much of her time was spent in the hospital or in different rehab facilities. We were able to witness positive and negative issues with these places. She would text me daily when someone was too rough with her or was not pleasant. She has not texted me any negative comments since being at StoryPoint. The management and dining staff have been extremely helpful and flexible offering meals that agree with the doctor’s orders. There is no perfect place for my mother, due to her medical needs and situation but StoryPoint comes extremely close. She is always clean and very happy, I am not greeted with an unpleasant smell when entering and the building is always spotless. There are always residents sitting in public areas talking to each other no matter the time of day. Although this was a tough decision to make, I am confident we made the right decision picking StoryPoint for this chapter in her life. I highly recommend it if you are looking "

"We looked at Riverside Residence, and it's very nice. It's very clean and nice looking. The people were very friendly. The facilities were organized, and the rooms were of different sizes."

"It was very clean. I was impressed with the spaciousness of the area. The tables were not on top of each other. They were very articulate, knowledgeable, and polite. They knew their business. They're the best at following up with me. They gave me sample food to bring home, and it was very tasty."

"I visited Generations at Oakton Arms. The least I liked was that it wasn't a one-level place, it has elevators but other than that, the amenities and everything they offer were great. They had maintenance out cleaning up when I was out there. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It feels like a little home. They had a workout room and a gathering room where people could go and practice their religion and the staff was pretty nice."

"The staff at Victory Lakes were superb. My parents lived in Independent Living until my dad passed away. The last 1.5 years my mom was in Memory Care. In each area we witnessed loving and caring employees who always had our parents best interest in mind. Victory Lakes was an excellent place for my Mom at the end of her life. The Catholic services, communion in home, visits with music staff, exercise and activities brightened Mom's day. The staff accommodated for our 7 sibling visits from out of state, Mom's dietary restrictions, medication changes and in the end, Hospice care for Mom. Fred was Moms' favorite nurse ~ he would sing to her and she would find great joy in that! It was a blessing to honor Mom and Dad's desire to live independently through their continuum of life at VL."

"Belmont Village is a place that we might have chosen if there wasn't an alternative close by. It doesn't really have continuing care in the same sense, but it does have a memory unit which I don't really want. Belmont has organized rooms and pods of ten to fifteen people with a common living room which makes it easy to meet people. It is something that can really benefit people that are not very outgoing. It's got a big gathering place which is just inside the door and a dining facility right next to it. It seems to be very pleasant. The sales woman seems to know residents by name in spite of the fact that there were a lot of them. A lot of them spoke to her as they passed by. I was impressed by that. The food was very good. Because we wanted a continuing care community, it was particularly appealing to us, but it did seem like a cadillac place for this. It is intended to be a different kind of place. "

"We've had a pretty good experience so far. My dad is there and it seems like they take care of the residents, but the worst thing is with this COVID now it's really hard to see him for a long time. Still, it's been a pretty good experience overall. If something happens, or something comes up, they always update and call you, or if I need to know something, I call them, and if they cannot answer the phone, they call me back in an hour or so. He's picky with his food but he said he likes it. It's an older place, but everything seems clean, updated, and organized. They play bingo too, take them to Walmart on a bus to buy stuff, and some tours that they offer sometimes, so the activities seem pretty good."

"I'm at Concord Place. I like my apartment. I have a studio apartment. The dining room is nice. Most of the food is good. The staff is nice and I have friends here. I've been here about a year and a half. The staff is friendly and they take care of you. I'm independent, so I don't need a lot of care. I take care of myself."
