"Everything was good here. It had everything that someone would look for. The staff was excellent, very bright, and personable. The food was very good, and you get 30 meals a month. It was Catholic."

"My dad will be moving into Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. The person who took us on our tour was very helpful and friendly. Everyone in there was friendly. The place was clean. It smelled nice. It had all of the amenities we were looking for. When we left our tour, we got a thank you card and that just showed that they really care. They provide transportation. They provide meals. They provide laundry like washing your bed sheets, and they clean once a week. Everything is taken care of. They have a gym, a salon, and areas for the residents to hang out. I saw some of the residents walking down the hallway and they were smiling. They were friendly as well."

"I am currently here. It's a wonderful and very well-established place. They have an indoor pool, exercise room, and a lot of activities over the course of the day. They have outside speakers that visit. The food is delicious. The people are friendly. Overall, the community is very high-quality in my opinion."

"I went to Grand Twin Lakes. I liked everything about it except they only had one-bedrooms in the place. They were a place that had been converted from a hotel to a senior living, and I like that very much. I saw a couple of the staff. The staff was great. It was clean. It looked great except they didn't have rooms in terms of this kind of space that I would like to have. It felt nice. The people there were nice. It was extremely clean and well-thought-out. My sister and I both liked it, but it was too small, and they just had one-bedrooms. Included in the rent was all meals and you got cleaning. But it felt more like assisted. The rooms looked brand new and felt brand new. The dining area was wide open. The impression I have of the whole place is that it's well-lit, and the part I saw had a lot of windows. They have activities. They had a fitness room and there were lots of activities for the residents. They have a place where they show movies at certain times, and they have a heated pool, a fitness center, and a game room. I saw some of the residents and they looked as if they were happy there. It was nice, but it didn't suit my needs. The staff I met were very nice."

"I liked the apartments at Hawthorn Lakes because they were beautiful. The staff was very nice. The food was good. They had different activities. However, in their independent living facility, the parking was too far away. I would recommend it to people who could walk far to go to the parking area. "

"When I visited this facility, I was completely surprised over how warm and welcoming everyone was. I've been in facilities where it seems everyone just generally dislikes what they do and dislikes being there. This facility had none of those ideas or perceptions. The whole facility is warm and open for everyone, there are different wings where the living facilities are located. One wing is independent living, one wing is assisted living, one wing is the hopsital wing, and one wing is complete care. There are several areas and rooms where residents can meet with family or friends, and there is a beautiful chapel for daily and Sunday masses. There is a full fitness and physical therapy center for the residents, and there are daily and weekly activities for all of the residents. In fact, the weeks for the residents are full for just about every activity you can think of! This would be the type of facility I would want any of my family members at. "

"I visited Brookdale Vernon Hills for my husband. It was a beautiful place, but it was very expensive. The rooms were really nice. It was a superb place. If I could afford it, I would go there myself. I saw the dining room and it looked like a fine restaurant. Everybody looked like they were happy and they were all very active and they were going on bus trips. Everybody we saw looked like they were having a good time of it. Everybody was superb, but it has to be. Everything was excellent. It was like going to a resort hotel. It was that nice, but it was super expensive. "

"I am a new resident (1 week) and yet the first morning I woke up here I felt I was home. The staff and residents are very friendly; the grounds are beautiful and there are many different apartments. There is a variety of activities -- classes, lectures, movies, games, a full fitness center and an extensive library. The food is excellent. There is fish, meat, poultry and vegetarian on the menu every evening. The Bistro Cafe is available for brunch and lunch. Lastly, there is a full medical center. I know my days will be filled with making new friends and deciding which activity will I enjoy today. What a wonderful life!"

"Rooms are like condos and perfect for the living style. Housekeeping keeps everything spotless and respects all the personal items. Privacy is respected and assistance is always available. So many activities and gatherings that decisions on when to nap have to be made. Having a salon for hair and nails is wonderful as residents do not have to leave the building and gives them independence. Caregivers will walk, talk and never rush residents so they feel positive and valued. Doctors come in so a pedicure from your own recliner was amazing for mom. Chef and staff interact constantly and he teaches residents cooking skills they can all do in some form. From making bracelets to painting we treasure all of mom's creations. Many nice gathering places and beautiful nature from every window. I truly find StoryPoint a gift and am forever grateful for the care of my mother and myself. They understand what a daughter goes through watching her mother decline and lose independence."

"The biggest selling point of GreenFields of Geneva for us was that it has a life plan, so my sister can stay there the rest of her life. She moved there a week ago, and she's in assisted living. Everyone there is very polite. The place is very clean, and the food smells wonderful. I'm very pleased. The staff is very helpful. They answer any questions that I have, and they seem to know what they're talking about. I haven't tasted the food, but it looks wonderful. It smells delicious, and everyone says it's very good. My sister is in quarantine right now because she came from another nursing home; she's not able to go down. They do bring her food up, and she's been very happy with it. Her room is clean and big enough. Her furniture fits well there, and she has a nice view outside. I've looked at several places and GreenFields is comparable or better than some of the other places that I looked at."

"We settled on Holmstad for mother. I liked the concept of a continuing care community, it was a large enough size, and financially stable. Additionally, they have catered care which was in between independent living and assisted living, which was appealing to us. We were looking at an apartment. I toured it four times, and for the different levels, they had different people that keep the residents engaged in social activities. The food was great."

"We chose Victory Lakes for my father-in-law because a lot of people around here recommended it, and we would be moving him on the 10th. The staff was terrific. The rooms were very nice. They were current, modern, and bright with lots of windows. They had many activities. We saw an exercise class, a Wii bowling group, and people doing something while sitting down. "

"What I like the best about Generations at Oakton Arms is the cleanliness of the property and the amenities that they offer. The rooms were excellent. The staff member who toured me around was extremely professional and considerate of me moving in as a new tenant. I was very impressed."
