"The Village at Victory Lakes was very clean, and everything you would need was there. The whole campus was very nice. It has restaurants, a couple of smaller bistros where you could buy sandwiches, a theater, a store, a library, and just about everything that you would need. You don't have to leave at all if you don't want to. The staff and residents were all very nice. There's a nurse on campus. We met the salespeople, we met a few residents, and in just about every place we went, everybody was very cordial to us. The apartment was small but laid out very nicely. Everything seemed very nice and easy to get to. There was a washer and dryer in each unit. Each apartment has two bedrooms and two baths, and a fully equipped kitchen. We dined in the restaurant and the food was very good."

"I went to The Oaks at Bartlett. I was given several pages of things to look for, and it checked all the boxes. I was told about the activities. I didn't see any because it's a brand new unit. They had a library, exercise room, chapel, gardens, courtyard, and extensive wooded grounds. They showed a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. They were spotless, brand new, and brightly lit. The staff was friendly, interactive, knowledgeable, and interested in the individual residents. They seemed to be doing everything right."

"The Grand at Twin Lakes was very nice and clean. Almost every community room there was going to be remodeled and upgraded. They had a little bit of everything, so if you're interested in something, they have it. They offered two meals a day."

"I visited, and I'm still thinking about it. I liked it, but it's very expensive, and there's a lot of stuff that I would have to pay for. It's convenient to where I have to be, though, and they offer almost anything you can think of. The food is very good, and everything is highly rated there. That's probably why it's expensive. It's just so big; they have about 500 people there. You'd better be able to walk, too, because it has acreage and trees around it."

"The staff is the friendliest nicest group of people I have ever met. The apartments are gorgeous and the food is fantastic. Stress - free and maintenance free living that’s generally makes you happy. Sedgebrook has such a wonderful environment that I’m convinced that people live longer and happier lives than they would otherwise. Enjoy Sedgebrook when you are young enough to participate in all the activities. Don’t wait!"

"I like that Addolorata Villa feels like a family community. I like that the residents were out setting up some of the Christmas decorations and the chef stopped to talk to us and there was a guy who mans the gym area like he's there all day. It's just a nice feature. The staff was very friendly. It was clean. One of the drawbacks is that it's kind of spread out. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I only saw two-bedroom rooms and they looked comfortable."

"I toured The Grand Victorian of Sycamore. It was a very welcoming place, very bright, very clean, and had a lot of options. We had a very extensive visit and met a lot of the staff. We learned a lot of things. They were very helpful. The food wasn't the most delicious, but depends on your taste and what's offered that day. It was nicely done. It was a beautiful facility. It was extremely nice."

"My mother will be moving into GreenFields of Geneva. We chose it mostly because of the location. It's very close to one of my other siblings. She'll be going to memory care. I like that there was a separate dining area like each area was separate. It looked like a smaller dining space for memory care and the unit itself was in a U-shape. They have nursing staff available 24 hours a day. The staff during the tour was great. She gave us a lot of information, was upfront, and has helped us through this process as we are starting the move. What they had to offer in terms of activities and the availability of physical therapy and speech therapy is five stars. We have to have a doctor prescribe that, but it's nice that it could be onsite."

"Covenant Living at the Holmstad was a beautiful facility. Not only the building itself, but the landscaping was very large and beautiful. There were lots of places for residents to be able to walk. They had gardens and trees. It's the most beautiful place I've seen with a price to match. They request a large deposit and then monthly charges, which could increase yearly. There are no meals at all. The salespeople were extremely nice. It's just we can't afford it."

"At Hearthstone, my mother has been getting very good care. The staff is friendly. It is clean. They have good meals. Overall, it is working out well. Regarding activities, I'm a little disappointed there. They play a lot of bingo, but I wish they would have more variety for her. We picked this place because it is close to my home, and I had a retired friend who was there. It is clean, and the staff is very attentive; those are two important things. As for the rooms, the room my mom is in is very nice. It is a private room with a private bath. It has nice carpeting, clean paint, and a sunny window. "

"My parents moved there in 2014, and my dad passed in 2018, with my mom staying on until her recent passing this fall. In the 10 years they were there, we were extremely pleased. The quality of the food was a bit of a roller coaster, but in the past two years it has gotten considerably better again. The quality of care has never wavered--it is always been exceptional. The staff are friendly, professional, extremely competent, and compassionate. Both parents had considerable medical issues, and the staff was always on top of anything which popped up, keeping us well informed. The activities are designed to permit residents to be as involved as they want to be. My parents truly came to see this as their home. We would choose this facility all over again knowing what you know now. Thank you, Courtyard."

"I will be moving into Melody Living Lake in the Hills. It's a beautiful place. It's new, and I love the idea of having a little balcony. I have nothing to say against it. They gave us lunch and it was very nice. They have a lot that will be going on. They have a movie theater where they show movies, and the seats looked great. They're regular seats you would find in a theater. The staff during the tour was wonderful. She was really, really nice, very sweet, answered all our questions, and seemed very knowledgeable about everything. The facility was very clean. The food was delicious. At the time we were there, there was not much going on except for lunch. The apartment layout was beautiful, and that's what convinced me. It's a one-bedroom and it's very nice. It has everything you need."
