I visited this facility

I visited Hearthwood Senior Living. They were undergoing renovations, so we could see through that. They have an indoor pool. They have two meals a day. They have a private dining room, a wine cellar, and a bistro. They have happy hours on Wednesdays and Fridays. The two-bedroom that we saw there was nice. We also saw a one-bedroom with a den that was OK, but it was difficult to tell size-wise between the den and the closet. Bathrooms were ADA-compliant and very nice. They have small but usable kitchens. Storage was fine. They had a storage room close to your unit, which was maybe only four by six. They had an in-unit washer and dryer and all the amenities you'd want, beauty salon, exercise room, art room, movie theater, game rooms, lounges, and things like that. It was built on the grounds of a former seminary or convent. One of the stipulations about the purchase of the land is that the chapel had to remain, so you can get to the chapel without having to go outside, and they do transport you to services, Lutheran services, Presbyterian services, and Catholic services. They do services in the chapel. In fact, people who live in the neighborhood come to the chapel for Sunday mass. Another thing about Hearthwood that I really particularly enjoyed is that almost every unit has a balcony.

I visited this facility

Hearthwood Senior Living had a full range of services, from you know, three days a week meals if you wanted them, complete apartments of various sizes, and reasonable monthly rents or fees, and no entrance fee. That was a big deal. As many places do, they had craft rooms, a library, and a swimming pool. The staff was wonderful, and the people were active, very friendly, and welcoming. It's very clean, and they have a new owner, so they're undergoing a remodeling with new carpeting and new woodwork, and so forth. We toured for independent living, but it's a continuous care community, so there is a wing for rehab or for more assisted living if you need it.

We toured Hearthwood Senior Living. I liked the place, but my mom needs more care than independent living. We had a fantastic tour, and that was a fantastic community, but a little expensive for my mom. She would not have been able to get the care she needed there at this time in her life. The person I met with was great. The cleanliness and the layout were great.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm at The Oaks at Bartlett. The rooms and the layout are excellent. They are spacious. It has a large bedroom and a comfortable front room. The kitchenette is perfectly laid out for ease of use. The amenities are very comfortable and easy to access from your living quarters and they are top grade. The food is a five-star restaurant quality. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, informative, and a pleasure to work with.

I will be moving into the Oaks at Bartlett. We chose it because of the people there and the atmosphere of the place. I just liked the way it was, and it's not too far from where I'm living now, and I wanted to stay in the same area. It's very comfortable looking, and it isn't too big. I visited a couple places that were very big, and I just felt lost in them. I didn't feel lost in this place. They have a nice seating area with a great fireplace and beautiful sofas, and they've got game rooms, a library, a pool, and a workout room. It seemed like they got a lot of stuff there. I have high hopes that it will be everything I think it is. Everybody was very nice. Not only was the staff real nice, but the residents all seemed very happy to be there. Everything that I saw was super. It's a nice looking place.

I visited this facility

I went to The Oaks at Bartlett. I was given several pages of things to look for, and it checked all the boxes. I was told about the activities. I didn't see any because it's a brand new unit. They had a library, exercise room, chapel, gardens, courtyard, and extensive wooded grounds. They showed a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. They were spotless, brand new, and brightly lit. The staff was friendly, interactive, knowledgeable, and interested in the individual residents. They seemed to be doing everything right.

Everything was good here. It had everything that someone would look for. The staff was excellent, very bright, and personable. The food was very good, and you get 30 meals a month. It was Catholic.

It is a very nice place, but it is a buy-in. I'm not interested in that. I am very impressed with it though. The rooms are adequate. They have activities, but they are not anywhere near what I have outside the community. They have a very small library and a craft room. The food is excellent.

It is beautiful, but it’s very expensive. You have to buy in, and once you buy in, they have all levels of care. The person who assisted me was very helpful. I did see some of the activities, and they had Bingo and exercise activities. I ate in the Bistro, and it was very good.

The people were wonderful. Julie, the one who gave me the tour, was phenomenal, and their follow-up was very good too. They would call me just to let me know how my mom was doing. The rooms were beautiful, and I would move there if I were old enough. To me, it was like a cruise ship without a casino. I was really impressed with it. My mom's doing great now, but if there's a change in anything, I would definitely move her there.
