"I like that the memory care of Arden Courts of Elk Grove is a separate building and it's clean. The staff is very nice. It's very colorful and there's a lot of staff. I just really liked it. There are activities from the minute mom gets up until the minute she goes to bed. She is active the whole time she's there, which is very important for memory care. The food is very good. They have hairdressing, doctors coming into her, and a craft area. Since it's a separate building for memory care, Mom doesn't have to be locked away from the other residents. For me, that feels better. They have everything that they need and they're very well cared for."

"We toured Belmont Village Geneva Road. They have rooms available, and the lady who took us around was great. That place is amazing. They have a brilliant level of care, 100%. It was really great. The location wasn't terrible, but the cost was way too much. My mom couldn't have afforded to stay there for more than two years. I was looking for stretcher dollars a little bit more. I like their layout too. That place was very clean as well. Their main level was beautiful. Everything was really close. The rooms were great. What they would do is they would have gathering areas in the hallway for getting people together to talk about what they were going to do for the day, kind of an invitation, and maybe somebody who was going to say no, maybe they would want to know what the commotion was and go out there. So their whole system was really brilliant and might be able to bring in some stragglers. So I really liked the way their system was over there."

"I was very impressed with Sunrise of Schaumburg, but I think my sister would need more of a supported living arrangement because they said if she ran out of money, she would have to leave and I don't want to get into that situation. I was very impressed with the staff, from the janitor to the housekeeping to the director and the person that does the activities. Everybody seemed to love their job. Most of them have been there for a very long time. You got to have people that like their job, that want to be there, to get good care, so I was impressed with that. I was impressed with everything. It's on the small side, so that was fine. Another drawback is my sister's ability to do more things than most of the people that were there. Other than that, I loved everything about it. The people were very nice. The people that were staying there also were super nice and friendly. The tour was very thorough. The staff gave me the pricing. I got to see the dining room, which I thought was very nice. I didn't have too many questions other than what happens when they run out of money. The staff during the tour was phenomenal. The facility was a little on the older side. It's not like it was really bad. The carpet could be replaced on some of the floors. The rooms were small but adequate. They had refrigerators and sinks. You could have appliances that automatically shut off, like a coffeemaker that automatically shuts off after a certain amount of time. They don't mind you having those types of things. Other than that, they don't want you to have anything else in your room. There's a place where you can get coffee and snacks and stuff like that near the dining room."

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"My husband is staying here. It's a great place, it's newer, and it's homey. The people there are lovely, and the staff is lovely, too. Everybody's like a real family, and my husband's very happy there. I know they have exercises in the morning, and on Christmas, they had gift giving."

"My brother is in Bickford of St. Charles. It is more modern than some other facilities. The interior is modern, with tall ceilings and lots of windows. The upkeep seems fine and adequate. They've had three different head nursing staff, and that's a little challenging, so staffing is always an issue. But there have been some nurses that have been here the whole time, which is good. So there is some stability there as far as them knowing my brother and his needs. They have been inviting my brother to their activities, but he's just been a little crotchety. But it seems he's settled in, comfortable, and content, which is good. The food has been fine. My brother is diabetic, and the few times we've been here, they have not served him dessert. So I complimented and thanked them for not serving him dessert. My brother has a service dog. They allowed the service dog to come, and they helped with getting care for the dog. So that was kind of above and beyond the fact that they take care of the residents and their pets."

"Arden Courts of Geneva is a wonderful location! My mother was here. It's a difficult decision for anyone to make to put your loved one in a Memory Care Facility, or any facility. Our family knew it was the best decision. I looked at several locations and Arden Courts of Geneva checked all the boxes for our family. Location, facility, compassionate and caring staff! Our family had to find a facility during COVID and they took very good care of my mother and ensured her safety during the pandemic. We were able to visit with during this difficult time and my mother was happy and enjoyed the events, and the staff. I cannot say enough about the staff and how they understood my mother’s needs and the kindness they showed her and our family. I could call at any time of the day or night and see how my mother was and each time they checked on her and or let me talk to her! I am sorry to say my mother is no longer with us, but I am glad that they was a place like Arden Courts of Geneva for her and it gave me such a peace of mind! Thank you "

"We loved Clarendale of Addison. The people were very nice and my parents absolutely loved it. The tour was great, the woman we talked to was great, everybody was very pleasant, and the residents talked to us and were very kind. It was all very nice. The rooms were very nice, large, and well-kept. We haven't found an efficiency room that's large enough, but my parents liked it for how it's kept up, and that the room has a separate bedroom. It was nice and very clean, and in good condition as far as how it looked. I would certainly recommend this community to anybody at all. Everything was great and based on the list of activities, my parents would have been very happy there. The whole thing would have been very nice."

"My dad is now at Arden Courts. It has the best layout. There is a lot of space to work around. It has the most room outside to walk around. It is not as new as some other facilities. The rooms are just one single room, and they are just one size. What impresses me about this place is the space and the freedom to move around. All of the staff are very helpful. "

"We toured Monarch Landing. It was excellent. The food was excellent. It was very safe and resort-like. The staff was Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They have all levels of care there. I know they just won an award as best in Illinois for skilled care, so that was also a good thing."

"My mother will be moving into GreenFields of Geneva. We chose it mostly because of the location. It's very close to one of my other siblings. She'll be going to memory care. I like that there was a separate dining area like each area was separate. It looked like a smaller dining space for memory care and the unit itself was in a U-shape. They have nursing staff available 24 hours a day. The staff during the tour was great. She gave us a lot of information, was upfront, and has helped us through this process as we are starting the move. What they had to offer in terms of activities and the availability of physical therapy and speech therapy is five stars. We have to have a doctor prescribe that, but it's nice that it could be onsite."

"We visited the Moorings, and it was very beautiful, but the way that they get their buy-in almost priced my mom out right away. It was very nice. She would have been happier because it was just so pretty, but it was a smaller community. I really like the grounds and the outside area. It just was very quiet, serene. It had a very comfortable, relaxing feel. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was very bright and willing to share the different activities with us. "

"We are going to move to Lexington. It's a lovely, friendly place, and it seems like it's going to work very well. The staff we met was wonderful. The apartment we got is a two-bedroom, two-bath, with kitchen and living room. The price is within our budget."
