Assisted Living Communities in Bartlett, IL

"Encore Village of Schaumburg was a nice facility. It was on wooded acres, so that gave you a sense of being away from the city. It was on 60 acres of land. The presence gave it a resort feeling. It seems like there was more activity there because you could walk into the wooded parts of the estate. Their facilities were immaculate. Residents were in the exercise room exercising. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic."

"I visited Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale's assisted living. They offer three meals a day, and the staff was very nice. It's a beautiful and clean facility."

"This is assisted living and memory care from a provider that does a nice job overall. Carol Stream is one of the earlier Belmont Villages in Illinois, compared say to Belmont Village of Oak Park, which came a number of years later. The facility is situated in a nice, safe residential neighborhood a bit off the main road. Outdoor space is somewhat limited, but it is possible to go for a walk in the adjoining residential area on well maintained sidewalks. The interior of the building has an above average amount of pleasant and comfortable common areas that nicely accommodate residents and families, including a snack-bar "bistro" area, "living room" area, and numerous smaller sitting areas. The decor is tasteful and down-to-earth and provides a nice, warm home-like feel. Resident apartments are available in several configurations at differing price-points. Most but not all are single studios. All apartments, including the smaller studios, provide ample space since most residents will choose to spend more time engaged with others and less time in their rooms. The mechanicals, fixtures, and aesthetic elements are very well maintained. Closet and storage space is not excessive but is average to above average for this type of setting. The food, as with other Belmont Village locations, is quite good and certainly above average in quality and presentation. Staffing levels are fairly consistent with enough staff to meet resident needs. Caring, compassionate and respectful service is the norm. "

"I was very impressed with Sunrise of Schaumburg, but I think my sister would need more of a supported living arrangement because they said if she ran out of money, she would have to leave and I don't want to get into that situation. I was very impressed with the staff, from the janitor to the housekeeping to the director and the person that does the activities. Everybody seemed to love their job. Most of them have been there for a very long time. You got to have people that like their job, that want to be there, to get good care, so I was impressed with that. I was impressed with everything. It's on the small side, so that was fine. Another drawback is my sister's ability to do more things than most of the people that were there. Other than that, I loved everything about it. The people were very nice. The people that were staying there also were super nice and friendly. The tour was very thorough. The staff gave me the pricing. I got to see the dining room, which I thought was very nice. I didn't have too many questions other than what happens when they run out of money. The staff during the tour was phenomenal. The facility was a little on the older side. It's not like it was really bad. The carpet could be replaced on some of the floors. The rooms were small but adequate. They had refrigerators and sinks. You could have appliances that automatically shut off, like a coffeemaker that automatically shuts off after a certain amount of time. They don't mind you having those types of things. Other than that, they don't want you to have anything else in your room. There's a place where you can get coffee and snacks and stuff like that near the dining room."

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"I was accommodated wonderfully at Bickford of St. Charles. They have on staff, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and a podiatrist. They have their own pharmacy, doctors come to visit patients daily if needed. I did not have lunch, but I did have a dessert that the chef made, which was fantastic. It looked like an upscale hotel. It was quite lovely inside. The dining area had beautiful, round wooden tables with soft, cushy chairs for the residents. It looked like it was a restaurant. They have a beauty parlor where you make an appointment and they do your hair. They had little separate rooms that had crafts, and they had their own little TV sitting area with couches and recliners, not just hard cushioned chairs. It looked like somebody's living room where you are going to sit and watch television together. Also, the residents' rooms are very close to that area where it's not like they have to walk hallways to get to where they're going. It's all centrally located to where their rooms are."

"We loved Clarendale of Addison. The people were very nice and my parents absolutely loved it. The tour was great, the woman we talked to was great, everybody was very pleasant, and the residents talked to us and were very kind. It was all very nice. The rooms were very nice, large, and well-kept. We haven't found an efficiency room that's large enough, but my parents liked it for how it's kept up, and that the room has a separate bedroom. It was nice and very clean, and in good condition as far as how it looked. I would certainly recommend this community to anybody at all. Everything was great and based on the list of activities, my parents would have been very happy there. The whole thing would have been very nice."

"My mother in law intends on going here after our visit there. The tour was very good, my mother in law liked it, and she went to visit it twice. They have a whole list of activities like sing-alongs, the rosary that my mother in law is interested in, and Bingo. They do have a hair salon on the premise, and you can sign up and go out on community visits and all sorts of things. The grounds are nice, there’s a nice garden with a little play area for children, a nice gathering area when you walk into the building, and a very nice dining room. "

"We chose Covenant Living at the Holmstad for my mother. She was familiar with it, and she had a friend living there. The rooms were generous in size, and the staff we met was very helpful and very nice. I liked the fact that they had a pool; my mom liked that too. They had concerts there, and they had the usual cards and activities. She will move in about four weeks from now."

"Brookdale Glen Ellyn was a very, very nice facility. The tour that I had was excellent. We just showed up and they were super nice to take the time out to give us the tour. The person who assisted us was very warm, informative, and outgoing. I would live there. The rooms were super nice. Even the studio rooms were nice. They were all good-sized, around 400 square feet. Their dining room was superb, it was like going into a classy restaurant. The residents were nice, too. Everybody was very upbeat. They had a pool and exercise equipment."

"Monarch Landing was very nice. We liked it. It seemed like everything was fine. The staff was very good. They were able to answer our questions and were very informative. I would highly recommend it. "

"My husband was in Greenfield's of Geneva for rehab. If you're looking for somebody to go to rehab, then that's only Greenfield because they're top of the line. They were good with him and then they came to the house. They take Medicare and we have Medicare. He can stay there as long as he's improving, and he had improved to the point where he was walking pretty good and then they sent him home. They came out a couple of times a week to help him. And he had an occupational therapist along with a physical therapist and the nurse. And that was all through Greenfield, they handled it. They're good. Even during the pandemic, he was in there and I couldn't go up. They had it situated so that we could drop a package off in the vestibule and just leave it there with his name and room number, and if he wants to send something home, they dropped it in the same place. It was wonderful. Whatever he wanted, he was not limited to anything like that. And then they had a place set up where you could visit through the windows and see each other through the windows. They'd bring them down and put them in front of a window, so you could visit with them back and forth by phone because he had a cell phone and we did, too. And so we could call him and talk through the window. As far as cleanliness goes, you can't beat it; food, can't beat it. People were friendly, they had as much food as they want to take and you ring the call button and they were right there. They give the medicine on time. The doctor came in to visit with him and they had a foot doctor come in and trim the nails. They got a beauty shop there for the lady to get their hair done. They had it all and they had entertainment. They have a senior living there as well as three sections for rehab over there, and three different degrees of it. They had activities going on most of the day, and they made sure they would come into the room and announce that it's time to do this or time you do that. It's kind of a family thing where they all participate and help each other and they let you do that. If you can afford it, I'd say it's great. The place is packed. They have seniors living there and apartments. I'd say the value was awesome because if he was busy doing something and they wanted him at rehab, they'd come back and get him later. So he got all the treatment he was supposed to get. And then anytime he wanted to get up and walk without it being rehab time, all he had to do was push a button and an aide would come and take him for a walk. They have the facilities and they have the staff; they're nice. I can't complain about anybody. There were a couple of people over there that even shined more than the others. I would highly recommend them. "

"The Grand at Twin Lakes was beautiful. I loved it. I liked the layout, the design, the brightness, and the attentiveness of the people. They have an indoor pool and a beautiful patio. They have units with a balcony, too, which is lovely. On their lowest level, they have a movie theater that has movie seats and a huge screen and a kitchen where if I wanted to go there and cook meals with my dad or for my family, I could. They also have little rooms that you could have for family gatherings, a library, and a coffee bar where they do happy hour. There were so many people out in their community rooms just sitting and reading. It's just lovely and bright."

"I went to The Moorings of Arlington Heights, and the people were very nice and friendly. They have a lot of open areas where you can sit outside. It was the most beautiful place I saw with the flowers and the greenery. A lady showed me the rooms, and they have a beauty shop. They would drive me to a list of places if I wanted to go. The staff was very helpful. "
