"I visited Lexington Square of Lombard, and the rooms were extremely spacious. I didn't meet that many people, but the one person that I talked to was very thorough and very accommodating. That was one that I would have considered, but it was a little bit too far. It was very clean and very nice. The rooms were big, so for the monetary value, it was very good. There were no odors. Things looked very well cared for. I didn't notice any safety hazards, like tears in the carpeting or anything like that. The hallways could be a little bit long for somebody, but I would have considered it if it were closer. The tour was very well done and very professional."

"Franciscan Court was an excellent place. The guide there was very good. The director there was great, too. If my nephew would have been 64 and a half, he would have worked with it. I wish it would have worked out, but it's a state rule, and they can't do anything. The director was very accommodating. The nurse that toured with me was very kind, gracious, and very upfront. They offer a whole lot of services. Everything was all-inclusive. They do the laundry, and they help with showers twice a week. You have three meals, and you have some social activities. They have everything that I would be looking for. Mostly the director and the nurse were great. They have a deep cleaning once a week, and then the aides do the other cleaning. Utilities and everything are paid for. I was impressed with it, and I was more impressed with Drew, the director, and the nurse that toured with me. It's an old building but it was clean."

"My brother moved in. Their community is great. Everyone is friendly, from the staff to the residents. The nurses, CNAs, and everyone are just fantastic. He's got a nice room. It's a nice size for him, but I wish it were a little bit bigger (I guess that's just me). I would prefer that it were a little bit bigger and that it had more of a kitchen-type layout. It has a cabinet area and a countertop, and he can put his microwave there, but I wish there was a sink where he can wash some little dishes if he has some. Overall, it's still a nice room. He has been participating in some of their activities. I know he plays bingo, and then they've had movie nights (he goes to that). They have little events sometimes, and they have one coming up soon at the end of this month on the 26th. They are going to have an event where families can come and stuff like that, which is good. I don't think he likes the food. He's picky. He wants to eat what he wants to eat. He is diabetic too, so he doesn't care for the food. He has no choice, though, but I think it's delicious. Not that I've eaten any, but I can tell when the cook/the chef puts it out, it looks good and smells good to me. I know that there are other elderly people there who have to be cared for and can't control themselves. They have to go to the bathroom and stuff like that, and so it feels like every time I'm walking to go down to my brother's hall to go to his room, it reeks of urine. You can just smell it, and I don't know if that's because they haven't cleaned, or maybe when I come, there's nobody there to clean it. During the week, I couldn't smell it, but definitely when I go on Saturday mornings or Sunday, I can smell it as soon as I come in the door."

"First off, you have to know that my brother, who is a current resident of Harbor Chase Naperville, could have played one of the starring roles in the movie "Grumpy Old Men". He came to Harbor Chase just over a week ago. But here his complaints have been very minor and once the quarantine is lifted, I'll bet his disposition will improve to a great degree. He raves about the food and would like the opportunity to explore the facilities. I have had occasion to make contact with the staff frequently due to trying to get assistance from the VA and,on the rare instance when I had to leave a message, my call was promptly returned. If I ever have the need to make use of such a facility for myself, I hope Harbor Chase has room for me."

"Monarch Landing was nice and had a lot of the amenities that I want, like covered parking, a pool, a fitness lab, lots of activities to choose from, and friendly people. I liked the apartments and everything about it. "

"I'm at The Oaks at Bartlett. The rooms and the layout are excellent. They are spacious. It has a large bedroom and a comfortable front room. The kitchenette is perfectly laid out for ease of use. The amenities are very comfortable and easy to access from your living quarters and they are top grade. The food is a five-star restaurant quality. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, informative, and a pleasure to work with."

" I will transfer my mother here from another facility. She'll be closer to the rest of the family. This place doesn't look like an institution. It has a fireplace, a sitting room, a game room and only 5 or 6 rooms to a hallway so residents won't get lost. What I like about this place is that they have a sun downing room and an aromatherapy bath with scents of eucalyptus, mint and lavender. These services I didn't find in other places. Other services they provide include memory care unit and lots of activities such as cocktail hour every afternoon when they can talk with each other and interact constantly. They also have games and other mind stimulating activities. I will recommend this place. It's meeting everything I need as of the moment. "

"The Roosevelt at Salt Creek is my number 1 pick, but I can't get a room with a laundry room in it. You have to go down the hall like you're at a laundromat, and I just can't do that. Nevertheless, I like everything about it. I would see people in the hallway, and they were very friendly. The marketing people were very well-versed, cooperative, and attentive. They don't have a nursing section for later on, and I just want to make one move. They offered a free lunch the day we were there. They also offered to work with me on the rent. They were remodeling at that time, but the units I visited were very clean, and the dining room was lovely and clean. I love the fact that they have an indoor pool. Swimming is important to me, but that's not a deal breaker because I know most places don't have a swimming pool. However, that was an extra advantage from my standpoint."

"We liked it very much. Every person was so accommodating. They tried to follow through and checked back with us. Everyone was wonderful. I will absolutely recommend it. "

"This facility was fantastic. Upon entering the facility, a concierge was there to greet you. The room was delicately decorated to give the feeling of being in a nice home. A large staircase was the focal point and the overall beauty and comfort of the public and private spaces was wonderful. Scents from the onsite cafe lingered in the air and overall I did not think that I was in a facility for the old, but rather for the experienced! The residents were friendly and it seemed an environment in which I wouldn't mind staying and making a few friends. Three meals a day are served in the cafe. There is a room with a piano, there is a Juke box, and several other places for group interaction. It was a community center, a restaurant, and a hotel all in one! There care-takers there are all extremely helpful and cheery. Security was not an issue either, for each of the resident's room all had their own individual entrances inside the facility. Each residence had it's own front door and windows to the hallway's, giving the appearance of a town home type entrance. I really felt like it was not a facility but rather a home. "

"I did a tour of StoryPoint Naperville. In the particular room we saw that was available, it was a view of a McDonald's. The staff member was great. We didn't get to meet as many different people that would have been involved there, but the facilities were very nice. They have all kinds of activities and did group therapy at least twice a week. So, there is therapy that would have been included, even if you didn't get your own personal therapy. It was a nice place, and the rooms were nice."

"I visited Encore Village of Schaumburg. The staff was great. It was a pretty nice place. I had no problem. It was clean and convenient to get around. Everything was right there. You didn't have to walk them out to get here and there. The patio was clean and beautiful."
