My mom has moved into HarborChase of Naperville. She seems very happy there. She loves the food, and she has participated in a few activities. She loves it. There's an outside patio area that is private and is off of her room, so she can go outside and sit outside and get fresh air. She enjoys being outside. Especially in the summer when it's warmer, she'll be able to spend a lot of time out there. That was a big selling point for them. My mom's room is great. It feels bigger than the last place that she was at. It has almost a full kitchen. It doesn't have an oven, but it has a microwave and a fridge. It looks like an actual kitchen. It's not just like a little galley kind of when you just walk in and it's to the side. It has a counter that comes out and lots of storage space. It's nice. Her room also has a big open living room area. She's in a one-bedroom, so she has her own bedroom, and the bathroom is off the bedroom. There are tons of storage space. There were a couple of things that we found like a light bulb needs to be replaced or one of the outlets didn't work, but we went to the front desk, and they put in work orders to have those repaired. I'm not sure if it has been fixed yet, but they have a good process for that. In terms of activities, I know my mom has played cards, and they played blackjack one night. She had an appointment to get her nails done. She mentioned that there are a few other activities. I saw a flier on the counter like a fall kind of outing thing that they were having. They will take them to the store and things like that. They have several things every day for them to participate in. I haven't seen their dining room area, but they also have like a little bistro area where if you don't want a full meal, you can just go there and get like a sandwich or something lighter. My mom hasn't fallen since she's been there, which is an accomplishment in and of itself. She seems happy and she likes the food. I would say it's greater than her expectation. I've only met a couple of the staff. A nurse came in to give her her medications and she asked if we wanted to switch to in-house primary care versus her outside primary care and things like that. She was very nice. She checked my mom's blood sugar and gave her her insulin. My mom had mentioned that there's another staff that, does anything she asks for, and the woman does it right away and finds out for her. It seems like the staff are very helpful and attentive. HarborChase of Naperville is a little bit more than what we were paying before, but the amenities seem to be nicer.

My parent was a resident in memory care for 2+ years. Upon admission, staffing was wonderful and quality of care was very good. Facility itself was in nice condition. Quality of food in memory was never good, fair at best. Over the ensuing months, staffing decreased, as did quality of care. Good management and staff eventually quit, and fewer, less capable, less caring replaced them. Staff morale overall seemed low. Supervision of residents was often poor, as I saw groups left unattended for extended periods of time. Witnessed u attended residents fall and suffer injuries. Furniture became soiled and cleanliness suffered. Things appeared to further deteriorate as COVID restrictions prevented family visits, and staff became reluctant to provide general information.

First off, you have to know that my brother, who is a current resident of Harbor Chase Naperville, could have played one of the starring roles in the movie "Grumpy Old Men". He came to Harbor Chase just over a week ago. But here his complaints have been very minor and once the quarantine is lifted, I'll bet his disposition will improve to a great degree. He raves about the food and would like the opportunity to explore the facilities. I have had occasion to make contact with the staff frequently due to trying to get assistance from the VA and,on the rare instance when I had to leave a message, my call was promptly returned. If I ever have the need to make use of such a facility for myself, I hope Harbor Chase has room for me.

HarborChase of Naperville was less expensive per month than the others. The facility was very new and very modern, but it didn't feel warm. The staff member was wonderful and followed up. They have a beauty salon and an open area for the TV. It's a beautiful facility.

I visited alone and then brought my mom to view this facility. It is a lovely facility. There are dining options, lots of activities and I did see people participating in activities when I visited. In some facilites, people are not interacting much with each other. The apartments are very modern and spacious and rival any standard apartment complex. A resident dog is also a plus for those who like animals, but can no longer care for them. They will even soon provide local transporation to residents. Shawna was very friendly, knowledgable and willing to hear our very complicated situation and offered us options to fit our needs. My mom chose to go back home for now, but if things don't work out, I would not hesitate to go with Harbor Chase.

My family looked at several different facilities before choosing Harbor Chase. The main reason that we decided to move my mom here instead of the others was because of the feel we got when we visited. They have good ratio between care staff and residents and there are therapist in the wellness room that are helping my mom with her knee. The sales process was genuine and sincere and when we saw other residents during our tours, they shared with us that this was a great place. That meant alot. We chose a 2 bedroom apartment and it works out great because my mom can still have her crafting area and room for her ipad and printer. My mom has made new friends and enjoys when they all go out to eat at local restaurants. Every time i ask to talk to a nurse, I get called back right away and they have great followup communication. We are really happy we found Harbor Chase and recommend it to anyone who asks

I think this is a very beautiful place. I don't need any help right now but would definitely consider this place for when and if I do down the road. The employees were very friendly and the lady that showed us around was very helpful. I really liked the different dining options instead of just having one place all the time. I will consider this place when and if I need help for sure.

My mom moved here when they first opened. It was the best move we ever made. I am very pleased with the care she is getting here and they actually saved her life by identifying a stroke that would have gone unnoticed had she been home.

We moved my dad in here and have been very happy with how things turned out. Their staff is very caring and has gone above and beyond to make the transition as smooth as could be. He is eating better too which was one of our biggest concerns. We should have done this sooner but could not talk my dad into making the move. I am so glad he finally got there and got settled. I have recommended this place to some of my friends who are looking for their parents as well.
