"We visited Sunrise at Fountain Square. I did not like the rooms there nor the programs for Mom. They had studio-type apatments. When I visited, the staff was very nice, but I did not see much staff on the floor. They did not have as many rooms available at the time I was looking. "

"The Roosevelt at Salt Creek has a continuum of care. They're under massive renovations. It's not an old building, and the units are nice. We saw a two-bedroom, and it was very clean. They have multiple amenities and two meals a day included in your fee. They are a rental community, not a purchase or buy-in community. We met several of the residents, and the person who gave the tour was very friendly, very personable, and very thoughtful. We thought that when she was giving us the tour, she had our needs in mind. They have an indoor pool. They're getting a new restaurant. Every floor will have a lounge area that is being updated. They have a private dining room, a wine cellar, and exercise rooms. Depending on your needs, you can a la carte any kind of care you want. It was a very nice place. Nothing that's a deal breaker. When we met some residents, my first question to them was, what's the food like? They all said that the food is good. They just had a new chef, and they have a restaurant, and your food is restaurant-quality. There's a food board of residents, along with the chef and the management, to determine what will be in the rotation."

"I could not have been more pleased with Franciscan Village. My great aunt was a resident there for 3 years. Each time we would visit, she would show us around and each staff member would say hello to her using her name. This showed me that they cared about her as a person rather than 'just a resident.' She slipped and fell in her apartment and broke her neck and was in the hospital for quite a while. The staff send her a card signed by everyone and it really brightened her days. After returning, she was self conscious of the way she looked with her neck brace and the sound she made when she ate and didn't want to leave her room. Staff members would come up to visit with her and try to get her to overcome her fears. It put our minds at ease knowing that she was being well take care of when we could not be there with her. "

"I was impressed with Sunnymere. It was very nice and clean, and the people were very gracious. Our only objection was you had to share a bath and the showers were down the hall. The person during the tour was very nice. She did everything she could to make us feel that it was a good place. I have nothing absolutely bad to say about it. The whole experience was very good. The dining area was very nice. We had a lunch with them that was fine."

"Concord was dependable and had potential. The room was pretty decent; it could be a little bigger, but it would just be for my mother. They have a swimming pool, recreation rooms, and a family room. They have big hallways, a private party room for families, and an entertainment room, which was pretty big. "

"My sister in law has been a resident since 2015. At first she was hesitant about moving there. She meet with staff and one of the lovely residents and has happily been living there since. She has found a second home where she has been enjoying life. The staff are all like family to her and us. She receives the best of care , great meals ,entertainment and great friendships among the other residents. My wife and I are more than happy to have found a great place like Jennings."

"Covenant Living at the Holmstad was a beautiful facility. Not only the building itself, but the landscaping was very large and beautiful. There were lots of places for residents to be able to walk. They had gardens and trees. It's the most beautiful place I've seen with a price to match. They request a large deposit and then monthly charges, which could increase yearly. There are no meals at all. The salespeople were extremely nice. It's just we can't afford it."

"My mother is in Cantata Adult Life Services (formerly British Home). Overall, we're satisfied with them. We had a bumpy start, but once I told them what I expected, they performed very well. She had a stroke, and they're one of the few places that do non-weight-bearing rehab. They're very compassionate. It's a very small facility which is nice, and they have a good staff-to-resident ratio. We've have several meals. My mom doesn't like the food, but my sister and I thought it was perfectly fine. They have tremendous and excellent rehab staff. "

"We're presently in StoryPoint Romeoville. What I like most is the silliness of the staff. They're friendly. We have a one-bedroom apartment with a bathroom. We don't have a kitchen. We have a microwave oven and a small refrigerator. The food is outstanding because I can order what I want. I participate in bingo. They have various musicians come in throughout the week. They have all kinds of programs, but I don't get involved in all of them. The people who live here seem to be very nice, too."

"American House had a lot of features that we needed. It was very nice and clean. We were able to get a ground floor unit, which was important to me because we had a little dog. They had a lot of things to do, and we ate a couple of times; the food was good. "

"Victorian Village was very beautiful, very clean, and the layout was good. The people were very nice, and the staff is attentive, concerned, and genuinely interested in the welfare of the people. There is Wii bowling, bingo, and movies, and the location is very convenient. "

"I liked Marian Village very much. It was a Catholic community, for one, and I am Catholic. Also, I thought their accommodations were better. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were adequate, and the residents seemed happy. I thought it was clean. "
