The facility itself is very, very nice. It's a large campus right across the street from a river, so they have a very nice piece of real estate. The facility is beautiful. Everyone that I've met there is absolutely committed to care. My father's been there now well over a year. I would absolutely recommend them. "

"American House Cedarlake was very good. My mother-in-law was there for five days and then she had to go into the hospital. It was very clean and very nice. They had a lot of activities. The rooms were beautiful like an apartment. They have assisted and independent living. They don't have memory care, so that's why when she came out of the hospital, she didn't go back there. She went to another place. The staff were very nice. They did their job very well. The food was pretty good. My mother-in-law did not do any of the activities, but they had bingo and different things like that. Their activities looked fun. "

"I found Franciscan Village for my mom. The care and the food were highly rated. She moved in last month. The staff is good. My mom loves the food. They have lots of activities. They have everything. They have a salon, a gym, a rehab area, and a craft room. It's closer to the majority of the family."

"If you’d like your loved one to live in a place where they are treated with the utmost respect as if they are part of a very large family this is the place that you would like for them to live. The rooms are very well kept clean and up-to-date. All of the common areas are so colorful and bring a sense of calm to anyone that enters there has not been one meal that my mom has been dissatisfied with at all and the activities are endless. There is some thing for everyone we could not have been more happy with our decision."

"I toured The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. The place was simply gorgeous. The people were very kind. Even the young lady that conducted the interview (her name was Hillary), was very feral and very informative. She gave us a tour upstairs and the place. It just looked like you were at home. Very warm, comforting, and clean. Just very nice. This was the first time my parents had even considered looking at senior living. I had my mother with me at that time, and she was very impressed with what we saw. All the common areas were nice. I have nothing bad to say. It was clean. It smelled good. I didn't smell anything bad. Everything was in order."

"I highly recommend Greenfields Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing levels of care as my parents have experienced both. My mom And dad moved in together into Assisted Living in October 2018. Since then my dad has graduated to skilled nursing. However we knew this was a potential and that’s why we chose Greenfields. They have every level of care for every level of need that my parents could ever need and it was very important to keep them together, under one roof. My mom in assisted-living has a beautiful spacious bright high ceilings and many windows one bedroom apartment with a kitchen efficiency. The staff is top-notch nurses and CNAs 24/7."

"Our visit to Concord Place was great. It is a wonderful facility. It is beautiful. It is like a little island in the middle of an industrial area; however, without a car, you are kind of stranded there. My dad said if it is in a better location, he would have picked that one. Their staff is very nice. I saw their apartments and I think they were probably a little bit bigger than the ones in the other facility we visited. It is a beautiful facility but its location is just inconvenient for us. "

"Marian Village was expensive, but the whole atmosphere, the staff, the graciousness, and the beauty was what I like the most about the whole environment. They have lots of activities, the food is delicious; they serve one meal a day. I would recommend them although it’s a buy-in facility. "

"My mother has moved into Victorian Village. It's very clean and well organized. The food is good. The staff is very good. They have a little dining hall and a little get-together place out in front of the building. They have physical therapy, they do Bingo and Wii bowling, and they have a bus that will take them shopping. They had a Christmas party last week, and they had kids come in from different high schools and did musicals."

"The Timbers of Shorewood was very good, yet nothing really stood out, but the people working there were very nice, knowledgeable, and very professional. It looked nice, and we got to see the model rooms. It is a huge, sprawling facility with multiple floors. "

"We liked the vibe of Woodlands at The British Home - it was friendly and casual, yet the business of taking care of those who needed it was being attended to. The grounds were spacious and well tended. We were in Chicago checking out assisted living residences and decided to check out some of the suburban areas, since they are so easy to access from the city. There were plenty of staff to take care of basic needs and cleaning. All of the areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too. The activities ranged from board games, to discussions, private reading and watching film and TV - some people were also using computers. The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people, from those who are not ambulatory - to people who have memory issues. Our aunt is in the early stages of dementia - it comes and goes - so she needs to live in a place that can handle this. The indoor areas were all clean and bright. There is plenty of sunlight so that they do not need to use lighting when it is sunny outside. This is true for many of the dwelling spaces, as well. Our aunt likes to make artwork, so the lighting is really appreciated. The activities they plan regularly include everything from visiting local restaurant favorites, the public library and movies - to day trips to nearby Chicago. They have planned exercise classes - but also offer residents to work out any time they wish. We liked that they encourage exercise - a people with early dementia can be forgetful. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The private areas were nicely decorated and personalized for the residents and it was clear that they enjoyed their surroundings a great deal. We are glad we took the time to look at this facility and it is in the running as one of the better ones we visited so far. "
