"They were very hospitable at Gurnee Place Memory Care. They were very kind. They answered all our questions. We're not going to go there because it seems a bit dark. As soon as we walked in, there were a whole bunch of people. I realized it was during their exercise time, but you couldn't even walk through the door without bumping into people. Everyone was very nice. We just didn't like the setup. It was too cramped. I don't want my mom to feel like she is being hidden away. However, the staff who gave the tour was very nice, and the facility was very clean."

"Sunrise of Gurnee was really nice, and I did like it. It was clean and pleasant. They had a group activity going on when I went in there, and they had entertainment. Their dining room was set up like a restaurant, and the food was appealing. The rooms had a nice variety -- a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom -- which would give my in-laws adequate space. It doesn't have a stove, which is fine because I would prefer they not be cooking since they're a little absentminded. It was well lit. They had skylights throughout upstairs in the hallways, and there was a fine daylight coming in. It was a perfect community for them. It was just a little pricy. The outside facilities were very nice. It wasn't like a nursing home nor a prison. They could go outside and leave if they have the capacity to do that. They had a lot of activities, which were both appropriate and enticing for people of varying age like trips, etc. It was a beautiful place. "

"The grounds are luxurious with lots of acreage & you don’t realize you’re just a block away from a major traffic artery. The staff are very competent & friendly. & the residents are very welcoming "

"My father was at Renaissance Gardens Sedgebrook for about one month. He was brought there straight from the hospital and it was like a resort. The people were good and the food was good too. It was clean and pleasant. Everything was wonderful. "

Residents looked happy and engaged. It was very nice. Too bad my loved one passed away and wasn't able to move-in.I would highly recommend."

"I had been to Galloway Senior Living, so it was interesting to see how they have adjusted the facilities to become senior care. I had been there when it was a hotel and a country club because my sister had her wedding reception there, and they did a really good job. It still has a hotel feel, but also an apartment feel, which is nice because you don't want it to feel like a nursing home. They have a lot of facilities that they had as a country club that are still available: There is a golf course next door, plenty of places to walk, big, spacious meeting rooms, and cute little salon meeting rooms. There is a bunch of stuff that we like, and it's very close, like less than five minutes away from my parents. They have a lot of natural light, and I love that. They gave us an assortment of their baked goods to try. They make them in-house. Lunch was just finishing up, so we saw people eating, and it looked like a good meal. We saw their menus. We had a chance to talk to one of their residents while we were waiting for the person to come and give us the tour. It was nice because it was her and her daughter, so they were giving us the inside scoop on the house. They like this place. We got a lot of positive feedback from that place. We like the people, the atmosphere, and the location."

"Victoria Lakes had a nursing home. The staff was very friendly. They had very good food, physical therapy, and everything imaginable. The rooms were very nice and large. They had bingo and other older games. "

"We had an in-person tour of The Grand at Twin Lakes. I highly recommend this facility. It was absolutely beautiful, but it was far more expensive. The director who gave us the tour was very helpful in answering our questions and showing us several different room options and amenities, including a movie theater and a swimming pool. The amenities that the facility had were really impressive. Everything was laid out beautifully and very appealing."
