"My aunt lived here for quite a long time, and she needed further services so she transferred to another facility. They have lots of choices for the accommodation, and it is spacious and clean. The dining room was OK, they have multiple bedrooms, and the facility looked secured. They have activities I believe according to their calendar."

We had previously downsized to a condo in Lincolnshire, so when the need to make the change to an Independent Living community arose, Sedgebrook quickly became our Number #1 choice. It has the feel of living in a neighborhood, not just a single apartment building. The campus is large, with plenty of outdoor space for strolling the grounds, sitting by the lake or pond, a community garden, and more. A big draw for us was the availability of 24/7 Emergency services and a full-service Medical Center onsite. Having Radford Green on campus also became a convenience when my husband needed rehab services following hospitalizations. We are at the young end of the age spectrum here, and have become friends with many other residents of all ages. The apartments are light-filled and come in many different sizes and configurations. The variety of activities is impressive. You can become as involved as you wish, or not, but you will be sure to find something of interest. We have felt very safe living here during the Pandemic. The staff has gone above and beyond the norm to provide our meals and adjust services and activities to meet our needs. As life slowly returns to normal, we are looking forward to continuing our daily lives at Sedgebrook for many more years to come."

"The people were really nice. The accommodations and the rooms were a 5. They had everything. They had a physical therapy room, a library, and activities. I believe once a month, they have field trips for the residents there. They take them someplace. They were very good. As far as the rooms, they had the best rooms."

"I had to visit Vi at The Glen assisted living facility because years ago my friend's grandmother and a friend of mine was a resident here. This facility has a pretty pleasant living arrangement, in which people with special needs are provided with a wonderful care. The staff is very qualified and friendly. They were patient and helpful to answer questions and taking care of the patients. My friend's grandmother was very pleased. She got new friends in this place. It seemed like this kind of people can have a good time here. The food was pretty healthful and the activity schedule seemed pretty typical. The facility has good design. It's light and bright atmosphere . Bathrooms has safety seats and rails. The unit has good views. There's regular fitness classes, and recreational activities like walking clubs and golf outings to local courses. So i can recomend this facility for your old relatives "

"Belmont Village, a corporate chain with a few facilities in Illinois, provides a consistent and reputable product in upscale assisted living. The Glenview facility is located on a main road, geographically convenient for shopping, local hospitals, and businesses. It is located in a safe neighborhood, essentially in a business district. There is limited outdoor space and it is somewhat noisy due to the proximity to Golf Road, but residents and visitors are able to sit outdoors if they wish. The common areas in the building off nicely furnished, tastefully appointed sitting areas with varying degrees of privacy in multiple locations throughout the building, and most visitors choose to visit either in resident apartments or in one of the common areas, such as the bistro or the lobby area. The building, both the common area and the resident apartments, is always well maintained and in a neat and clean condition. Fixtures and furnishings both common areas and in resident rooms are somewhat upscale. Apartments are available in regular assisted living and also in differing dementia care programs that have the goal of being tailored to level of dementia the residents are afflicted with, so that residents are living on a care floor with others of similar functional level. Most apartments are private, single occupancy with a handful of shared or "companion" apartments available. The price points differ with the size of apartment and type of care, whether assisted living or dementia specific, the latter of which Belmont Village terms "Circle of Friends" and "Neighborhood". However, it is noted that there is not a seemingly endless list of a-la-carte add ons at Belmont Village, so the rate one is paying is not so difficult to figure out, and not so subject to fluctuation as at some other assisted livings. The food at Belmont Village is above average in presentation, quality, and taste, and almost always there is something on the menu for nearly everyone. While there is some modest turnover in direct care staff, it is no more than usual at other similar facilities. Most often there is enough staff to meet all resident needs, and care provided is consistently kind, caring and of high quality. "

"We chose Clarendale of Addison for my father because of the professionalism of the salesman, the beauty of the place, and most importantly, the location. It's 5 minutes from my house. Eric has been wonderful. He has answered all of my and my father's questions and he's been very responsive and has helped out in many ways, even going to measure one of the units my dad was interested in to make sure his furniture would fit. It's a one-bedroom, has a full kitchen, a den, and a good-sized bathroom with a washer and dryer, and pantry. They have different apartment types, but he's choosing the one with the den because he wants to have a desk. They have everything. They have an exercise room, a barber, a bar, and an activities room. They have all kinds of game rooms, a lovely restaurant, and a snack bar. It looks like a luxury hotel when you walk in. It's beautiful."

"The Park in Vernon Hills was very nice too. I was there at least a year ago. It’s a lovely place. The thing that attracted me was the indoor rain forest; it was really beautiful. It has an indoor pool that you can use too. When I was there, it was 3 below 0, and there were people swimming so that was really the main thing that I was interested in. The person who took me around was very nice. She’s been in touch two or three times, but at that time my husband was in a nursing home, and I was just planning ahead to what my future might hold. I saw the apartments; it was very nice. A very nice lady was hospitable to let us in. You bring your own furniture as far as I understand. There’s plenty to do; you can choose to do what you want or nothing -- it’s entirely up to you. They have a nice exercise program, happy hour on Fridays, transportation, and trips to entertainment and stores. They also have a lovely atrium area. "

"My aunt is moving here on Wednesday. We picked the facility for the bedroom and chapel, which holds, like, 200 people. This way, she can go to the 9:00 mass every day, and it gives her an activity, as well as all the other stuff that they provide. The facility looks nice, clean, and big."

"I went to The Oaks at Bartlett. I was given several pages of things to look for, and it checked all the boxes. I was told about the activities. I didn't see any because it's a brand new unit. They had a library, exercise room, chapel, gardens, courtyard, and extensive wooded grounds. They showed a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. They were spotless, brand new, and brightly lit. The staff was friendly, interactive, knowledgeable, and interested in the individual residents. They seemed to be doing everything right."

"Concord Place was well staffed and had a lot of amenities, but it was old. The apartments were kind of small, not set up really nice, and a lot of them were still being remodeled because of how old they are. They had a pool, but it was shut down for some reason, a fitness area which quite a few people were using, and game areas that people used often. The menu was very good, and the food was quite good. They're contained in one building. There's no place to walk around. I guess it used to be an old hotel, so you're kind of contained to that place. The best thing about Concord is the staff. They had a good staff there, and the director was very nice. "

"The woman who took us on a tour was unbelievably kind, very positive, and very nice. Their amenities are not as high-end, they have cookies and cheese in the afternoon, and they're dog friendly. "

"I thought Autumn Green at Wright Campus was a very nice facility. I thought it was probably a notch below the one that I also visited. They provided meals, they had activities, and there were games so I liked it."

"I toured The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. The place was simply gorgeous. The people were very kind. Even the young lady that conducted the interview (her name was Hillary), was very feral and very informative. She gave us a tour upstairs and the place. It just looked like you were at home. Very warm, comforting, and clean. Just very nice. This was the first time my parents had even considered looking at senior living. I had my mother with me at that time, and she was very impressed with what we saw. All the common areas were nice. I have nothing bad to say. It was clean. It smelled good. I didn't smell anything bad. Everything was in order."
