Assisted Living Communities in Country Club Hills, IL

"I would say it is excellent. The layout is very conducive to my mom having to use a wheelchair and needing assistance at times. The care that I've observed is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, kind, and willing to go out of their way to help. My mom reports that the food is delicious and she has no complaints or concerns. She's in their assisted living and she has used the salon. The woman there was very helpful and accommodating. She even stayed longer to give my mom a haircut so we appreciate that she worked around my mom's schedule. I think it's a wonderful community for someone that needs assistance. It also offers various levels of care. My mom is highly functional, so she doesn't require as much assistance but knowing that somebody is there when she needs assistance is comforting."

"I have placed my mom in Prairie Green before, and I thought it was very nice. I’ve enjoyed the place because I stayed there for four days with my mom. The staffing, the activities that they had and everything, and the care that they gave the seniors; I was very pleased with it. They had a gardening club there, and they also had activities like they would play cards, Uno, and Bingo. I don’t know how often, but I believe they’ve taken them to Walmart; for those who could go. The breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks were fabulous. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and I liked the fact that they knew the patient on a one-on-one basis. I just liked the atmosphere. It was very homey, and made me feel that my mother was in a good place. She had made friends there, and in the four days that I stayed with her I had made friends too with some of the elder people. People- from the receptionist to the director and back to the kitchen staff- were very nice, and the place was very clean. "

"I have a family member in Prairie Green at Fay's Point. My experience seeing how they run the facility they have great hospitality.The Management deals with any issues concerning the residents on a very professional level. Also the staffing does great work with the residents. They run A clean environment food & entertainment awesome. I would recommend this facility to anyone that have elderly family members. I give this facility A 5stars review. "

"I toured Brookdale Orland Park for a loved one. They were friendly, and the place was well-managed and well kept. They were approachable and knowledgeable. The rooms had a nice design. It appeared clean. I looked at the menu, and it seemed to have a variety of options. I saw an outdoor activity area, a sort of a TV area, and I saw the rooms. The only activities I saw were people gathered together in a room watching TV in the memory care. In the assisted living, I saw bingo. For the memory care, the amenities appeared to be limited to me. It was just a short period of time that I was there, so they seemed to just be sitting there watching TV. I did not see any activity person engaged with them doing anything."

"We put my mom in Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park for two weeks. They gave her her medicine, they took her down to her food, and they laid out her clothes for her. They had activities there. They had a Hawaiian evening. The first two weeks, we kind of spent a lot of time with her. We were keeping my mom more active than them. It's our first time putting her in an assisted living place. Everyone was kind of worried, so we wanted to make sure she was good, so we kind of spent a lot of time with her and took turns going and coming. The staff were very understanding, very caring, and very nice. There's nothing negative I can say about them. It's all positive. Of all the facilities I visited, they have the best room. It's a 700-square-foot room. It has a walk-in closet, a big bathroom, a big shower and bathtub, a little kitchen area, and a little dining area. It's the most spacious room in any facility, I think. It's new, so that was kind of encouraging for us. I was able to put a queen-sized bed in there for my mom, and it fit perfectly. Their food was super. They'll take her down to eat, or they'll bring her food to eat. And if she didn't like it, they'll bring her something different. They were like really, really nice and easygoing. There are always snacks out, there's always coffee out, there's always cookies, soft drinks, and water. They always have those available for them. "

"Mother is in Sunrise of Palos Park. Based on family and friends, it is a very good location. When I tour the facility, the management team is very cordial and very professional. They have availability, which is one of the challenges. The pricing is competitive to some of the other facilities that I looked at. The facility, I think, is just coming up on 15 years. When I interviewed some of the workers and asked them how long they have been there, most of them have been there 7 to 15 years and that tells me that it is a good place to work. There is a low turnover rate, so there is an appreciation of the employees that work. I see that it is will be to good care. I like the cleanliness of the facility, the amount of activities that they schedule, the communication, how they articulate, and the postings. Everything is going really well. I don't have issues and complaints. I know that Mom fall, and even Mom is amazed how quickly when she presses her button, the team comes up and gets her situated in a matter of probably a minute. Although it is in a very well-travelled road, it is far off the road and has a little green area off the road so you will not hear noisy trucks nor airplanes taking off. There is a wood just to the north, so it is a much calmer environment. "

"My Uncle lives here at Clarendale in Independent Living. He enjoys the events and get togethers that are held here. He enjoys the friendly staff and residents that live here. Very clean and we'll kept lobby, dinning room and his apartment. He also enjoys a cocktail every now and then in the lounge and has been known to play a game of pool when he gets together with his buddies. I don't worry about him like I would if he were still living in his house all alone. I always feel welcome here while visiting him!! "

"My sister will be moving into the Victory Centre. It's affordable, and they have the CNA help there that she would need. When I went in, it didn't seem like a nursing home. My sister is still able to walk, and she can do a lot for herself. She toilets herself, and she is able to go to the bathroom, but she can't bathe herself, and she needs assistance. There were some things that she needed assistance with, and they provided those things, and a big part of it was that it was affordable for her income. My first impression of it was good because it didn't smell like a nursing home. In all nursing homes, they're not like that, but I've had bad experiences with visiting people in nursing homes. The setting seems like it would be great for her. There were people up and walking around, and some people were in wheelchairs, but they're still moving about. It was just a nice atmosphere. They took the time to explain things, and particularly the RN who was talking to my sister and asking her questions while she was doing the assessment. I liked what I saw and the way they treated her. She was laughing at some of the questions, and she was laughing with the lady. So it was a good feeling. I was not able to witness any activities, but I was told that they have a lot. They have bingo and games. The management that I talked to when I was there was telling my sister, "You're going to like it here. It's going to be lots of fun, and you'll have lots to do.""

"It is like a family there! A kind, Christian community. My uncle and aunt were cared for so very well and they were happy there to the very end of their lives. Our family highly recommend them!"

"I toured Marian Village. They were a little less expensive, but the place itself just seemed so vibrant, alive, energetic, and bright. The place seemed very new and very updated. When you walked in, you were welcomed by the person at the front desk. The price, I think we could handle. The tough part is they require an entrance fee of $90,000. I have noticed reviews that are not too high, but when I did the tour, they had like a little bistro, and some residents were having omelets and things like that, and the food smelled amazing. They have a lot of events. They had a nice exercise room. They had laundry on each floor and seemed to have more dining areas. They give 400 points per month, and each point is equal to a dollar. You can use those points in the cafeteria or the dining area, and they don't carry over to the next month. They kind of give you an allotment, and then if you go over that, you start to pay. Mary Beth gave me the tour. She knew all the residents. She's very good and very thorough. Everything was so clean. There wasn't a spot on the carpeting. There wasn't a whole lot of carpeting. There was more of the vinyl plank flooring type of things. The dining room was set for dinner, and they had cloth napkins, glasses, and silverware. Everything seemed to be clean. Throughout the whole tour inside the rooms, in the laundry rooms, or the dining area, there was no stale odor or anything like that as you toured it. It was very clean, not like bleach clean or anything like that. It was just a fresh, clean environment."

"My mother moved into the Cottages of New Lenox. So far, it's been very good, but it's a little bit early to judge yet. It seems like a very good place. It's smaller. The people are very friendly there. The food has been good as well. My mom is in a studio with a pretty good-sized bathroom. The dining area is nice and clean. It is expensive, but all these places are expensive. The atmosphere is very nice, clean, and orderly."

"Mom is at Victory Center of South Chicago for about a month now. They've done a great job in addressing her needs and she is very happy being there. It's a great place. They have fitness, social, and trips. "

"Food and service are very good and 99% of staff is kind, patient and caring. The studio is nice size with kitchen sink, cabinets, fridge and microwave. Nice bathroom with walk in shower. They have a nice variety of outings as well as activities but is is difficult to fight stereotypical bingo, etc. The grounds are nicely kept. This is far better than the facility my parents had been living in. Moving was hard but well worth it."

"As A Rehabilitation Specialist, I had the pleasure of assisting my students in a internship that lasted a few months. Upon entering you cant help but notice the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. Franciscsan Village also showed exemplary performance in the area of activities that involved the residents and kept them fully attentive throughtout all programs. Francisan Village also has plenty of activities geared toward alzheimer patients that helps them with memory recognition and everyday living. One of the most troubling situations I have known over the years with nursing homes were how soon residents were taken care of after acccidents. Franciscan Village has a response team that seem to respond immediately to all acccidental situtation. that required attention such as clean ups etc. Overall in conclusion I would have to say anyone who may be looking for a nursing home and assisted living in the Lemont ,Ill area Franciscan Village comes highly recomendded and suggested to visit first before all others.
