"We visited both independent living and assisted living of Prairie Green at Dixie Crossing. I liked two things about it: they have little kitchenettes in their units, and the other thing is that they have a very nice and big dining area. The staff members were very good. They weren't pushy and they were thorough. They showed us the whole facility. They have beauty shop, exercise area, and therapeutic area. It felt more homey."

"Sunrise of Flossmoor was very cozy. When you drive in, it's a little bit back off of the road. It's very clean, and I would say very inviting. The rooms I saw were very nice and very well kept. I was shown two rooms. One was a shared suite. It was very, very nicely decorated. It was bright, and for me that counts for a lot. It was very impressive, wide open, and very nicely decorated. The staff member was a retired fireman. He was very nice, well informed, and took me step by step through the tour. It was good. He also had a dog. It was a very nice and older dog. It went with us throughout the tour. The dog was also a favorite of the patrons there to pet. I did see a menu, which I thought was interesting and varied enough. I did see the dining area. It was nice. It's a very inviting place, and the dining room lived up to that as well. It was just very nicely laid out. It was bright, and the place was very well-kept."

"Sunrise Villa Olympia Fields is a great community. We had a meal there and tried the food, and it would come highly recommended by me for anybody who wants to go there. The staff who gave us the tour was extremely knowledgeable about the community and all the processes within the building. They have exercise programs, art programs, various trips scheduled if people want to go on if they want to like day trips to restaurants or shopping centers, you name it. They were just basic things they have at assisted living. The place itself is very well-maintained."

"Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest offered us a respite. My aunt and uncle could do a trial for 30 days to see if we like that one. They had services and they had a newly remodeled suite. It was very nice. They just opened it up a few weeks ago, so they would be the first couple to be in this new facility. So that was a good thing. It was one place that was more intimate; there were not a lot of people. There were probably 16 in that one area, so that was a good thing. The staff was very, very informative and she kept reaching out all the time. It was very clean and they just remodeled. The facility itself was nice."

"I can't think of the young lady name but she was pregnant and tall. I was so overwhelmed and she calmed my nerves about placement for my mom and gave me a new view on how to look at things. The room was clean that she showed me the Building smelled refreshing. Her personality was great and the things she stated about the staff that worked there was reassuring. The residents had a great attitude about living there one lady stated she lived there 7 years and she loves it. Im looking to move mom in once her lease is up and hopefully im not to late because I can see why people love it there.."

"Really liked the "home" feel of Two Hearts. It doesn't feel at all like a facility or a hospital. It was hard at first having Nan away from home, but this made the transition much easier. Everyone is so friendly and caring. The owner was so kind and made sure ALL of our questions and concerns were handled. The staff is always helpful when we visit. Nan loves that she can have others to visit with and company any time but also have her own space. Its small enough that you still get that one on one care, but big enough that they have activities, assistance, meals, laundry, etc. Personally one of the things I liked the best was how much they do for holidays and birthdays. Nan always loved the holidays and decorated and we always did a lot! They do crafts and have treats and ... well I don't have to worry Nan feels alone. The staff at Two Hearts has really become a second family and I am very grateful for that! "

"We chose the Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge for my mom. I toured there twice: once with my husband and another with my mom. I love everything I've seen so far. They took me on a tour of the actual room she was in. We met some of the residents there. The first time we visited they were getting ready to prepare for a play they were putting off for Christmas. The second time we went for our tour, there was one of the ladies that was over in the craft department. She was explaining to my mom different things that they do. She asked my mom if she sews, and my mother said yes. She said "Oh, we can use you." Mom got really excited. It's something that I think a lot of seniors would like, and especially with the things they offer like the different programs, crafts, trips. My mom loves that. She loves to go to operas and plays. They were very friendly and cooperative. They were able to answer any questions that we had. One young lady would even email me, call, and give us a status update as to where my mother's application was. She would take the time to come and interview my mom. The rooms are beautiful and have plenty of closet space. They have a full-sized refrigerator. They have no stove because they have a kitchen with a chef. There's a sink with cabinets (upper and lower), a counter, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The bathroom is huge. If she was in a wheelchair, she would be able to roll herself in and out. They get menus every day. The residents are able to choose what they want for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals are delivered to their rooms. After things started getting a little bit better, they started letting the residents come back to the dining room. They were able to have them distance themselves. I appreciated that because she was able to explain everything because we were concerned about my mother's safety because of COVID. It's a spacious dining room with several tables. Originally it was six chairs to the table; however, they needed to distance them, so they made it where there were only four chairs per table now. They have an exercise room and a room for physical therapy (if any of the residents had physical therapy). They also have a salon, but right now there's no one working in the salon. It was extremely clean."

"Victory Centre of Roseland is right across the street from me. It is pretty and decent. The place is very clean. The staff is very nice and warm. They serve you well as far as providing care for the seniors. It's magnificent. They have the usual activities for the seniors. They have arts and crafts and entertainment every Friday, and they have a band or somebody of that sort to come out to entertain them. However, they only have 1-bedrooms. My parents were looking for something a little bit bigger. My mother was looking for something more like a 2-bedroom, with more rooms and more space. "

"I toured Prairie Green at Fay's Point. The facility was very well-kept. It was clean. The interaction that I had with any staff there was positive. I noticed that the director who was showing me around seemed to know the resident's names. She knew everybody. Those are things that make the place like a home. It's a very caring and compassionate environment. The people were very friendly. Everybody seemed engaged in what they were supposed to be doing."

"I visited Brookdale Valparaiso, and I liked it very well, but the price was just out of my range. They were very nice, and the rooms were very clean. They had a lot of open spaces for play time or gatherings. They individual rooms were small, but I did not see any problem with that, because when you were feeling down, you did not really need a large room to lay in; and when you were up, you could be out of your room and socialize more. There were a lot of opportunities to socialize there. They had exercise classes where they do chair exercise. There were a number of living room areas that were available. I never tried the food, but I did look at the menu, and it seemed like it was good food. "

"My parents have lived at the village for two years. The staff was kind and patient with them while they were making the decision to leave their home. The nursing staff is responsive and does a wonderful job that surpasses just passing meds. The Aides are a delight. The Chef and kitchen staff go out of their way to make the residents feel at home The food is very good and portions are generous. There are activities and outings to enjoy at their leisure. Overall, my parents and I have been very happy with this next phase of their life at The Village."

"I am truly grateful for Coffee Creek and all the support we have received from the staff in transitioning our Grandma safely to her new home. I especially appreciate the close contact with the nurses and the honest and frequent communication whenever there are any issues and/or updates. The facility is beautiful and has a very clean and homey atmosphere. "

"I moved into High Point Residence Tinley Park. It's great. They've updated the building, which I didn't know about until I got here. So, I didn't see anything that was outdated. The staff is limited, but very good. The people who are here are very good. It is supported living, and you really need to accept the fact that it's communal living. I'm only 67, but a lot of folks are a little bit older than that. They have good programs given their budget. They have typical bingo and exercise things. They also have a memory care section. So, these fellows have to take care of both sides. They have outings a couple of times a month. For myself, I'm just a little bit caught in the middle of the millennials and the baby boomers, so I'm seeking some different kinds of activities, a little more active, a little more social. I'm just very glad to be here. The food is awesome. It's three meals a day in a dining room. They've just upgraded their menu a bit. They're short-staffed, but they work really hard and serve balanced hot meals. For people on diabetic diets and dialysis diets, you need to supplement somewhere because it is not a specialized diet. There's a lot of processed food, but it's good."

"It was a little bit smaller. It didn't have (I don't think) as much room for my mom, if she was to go there and get away from anybody. It was not as spacious, but it was very clean. Their workout room was part of the physical therapy part of it. I'm not sure if there's a separation or not. I know that they said that you can use it, but I think it was combined. We were able to check the menu. It was very good."
