My sister will be moving into the Victory Centre. It's affordable, and they have the CNA help there that she would need. When I went in, it didn't seem like a nursing home. My sister is still able to walk, and she can do a lot for herself. She toilets herself, and she is able to go to the bathroom, but she can't bathe herself, and she needs assistance. There were some things that she needed assistance with, and they provided those things, and a big part of it was that it was affordable for her income. My first impression of it was good because it didn't smell like a nursing home. In all nursing homes, they're not like that, but I've had bad experiences with visiting people in nursing homes. The setting seems like it would be great for her. There were people up and walking around, and some people were in wheelchairs, but they're still moving about. It was just a nice atmosphere. They took the time to explain things, and particularly the RN who was talking to my sister and asking her questions while she was doing the assessment. I liked what I saw and the way they treated her. She was laughing at some of the questions, and she was laughing with the lady. So it was a good feeling. I was not able to witness any activities, but I was told that they have a lot. They have bingo and games. The management that I talked to when I was there was telling my sister, "You're going to like it here. It's going to be lots of fun, and you'll have lots to do."

My mother is at Victory Centre of Michigan Avenue. What I like least about them is the variety of the menu and the portion controls, meaning not enough for an adult. I do home day care, and my portions for my smaller children are more than that. The staff is pretty nice, though. I have tried their food, and it's usually a little salty for me. The place looks nice, and it's kept up. However, for the amount of money that you're paying, it should be more hands-on service. The things that they quote on, like cleaning the patient's room, are not true because I clean them when I go there myself. They may have a list of activities, but my mom doesn't participate in any of them.

I toured the Victory Centre of Roseland. The staff was very engaging and very informative. He let me know what would take place while my dad stayed there, the activities, the meals, and the things that he would get. They have daily activities. They do laundry. They do housekeeping. The dining area was clean. It's open and spacious, and the people don't have to sit on top of each other.

I chose Victory Centre of Roseland for my aunt because I just fell in love with it. It is very welcoming and pleasant. Every employee that I came across was very nice. Now that my aunt is there, they are so helpful with her. I'm so happy she's getting around OK. She loves them. She told me how everybody is so nice to her and how they speak to her. They call her by her name, and that is important to her. The place is lovely and just friendly. She is doing well going to the dining room. She is loving it because it is so close by. The moment she steps off the elevator, the dining room is right there. Her apartment is not far from the elevators, too. It's just so convenient. They do movies, and they have a salon. They have just been really helpful.

My father moved into the Victory Centre of Roseland last November. The location was convenient, it was near my home, and it was ten to fifteen minutes away. When I went there it seemed to be a fairly decent place. They give him his meals and things of that nature. He hasn't been there long. Covid has a lot to do with things that happen. The staff has been very accommodating of your needs. I think they're good. He has plenty to eat and hasn't complained at all. They have a gym, salon, and a beautiful backyard. Those that want to smoke can go out and smoke. They've got a little workout area for your grandchildren. If you want to bring the little ones they can play. So I think that's nice. They got birds, they got a piano, and they played music. So that's pretty good. I think they do a good job under the circumstances.

The way Victory Centre of Roseland was laid out was very nice. The apartments are beautiful and everybody seemed to be interested in what was going on with the residents. It was very nice, and the residents seemed to be happy there. During my visit, they were preparing for a bowling tournament using a Wii. They had a bus to take them shopping and on outings.

Victory Centre of Roseland is right across the street from me. It is pretty and decent. The place is very clean. The staff is very nice and warm. They serve you well as far as providing care for the seniors. It's magnificent. They have the usual activities for the seniors. They have arts and crafts and entertainment every Friday, and they have a band or somebody of that sort to come out to entertain them. However, they only have 1-bedrooms. My parents were looking for something a little bit bigger. My mother was looking for something more like a 2-bedroom, with more rooms and more space.
