"My parents are at the independent living portion of Franciscan Village. It is really nice and recently renovated. The staff has been good and my parents seem really happy. They also really like the apartments, it's brand-new, has a full kitchen where my mom can cook, and has a patio where they can get outside and get fresh air. The grounds are really pretty, it's around 40 acres so mom can take really long walks. She's an artist so she really enjoys a lot of their classes. Another thing that we liked about Franciscan is that they have independent living, assisted living, and then basically hospice care, so they won't have to move later on."

"We liked it. They had activities like bingo, a choir, and a meeting place for church on Sundays."

"I have been bringing my therapy dog to visit with the resident of Addorolata Villa for several years. The facilities, while not the most modern, are spotless and immaculate. Many of the staff have been there for decades and I am always impressed by the kind and thoughtful care they give their residents. Much of the staff knows the residents (and their relatives) by name. The staff-to-patient ratio is excellent.For the patients who take comfort in religion, there are daily church services. There is also a computer lab and classes of all types are offered. There are numerous planned activities such as games, card and movie screenings as well. Addorolata also allows and encourages visits from therapy animals, which is a favorite of the residents as no pets are allowed and so many of these guests miss having an animal companion.The residents always have help available, be it for shopping, cleaning or other errands, and there are skilled nurses available at all times on-site.The grounds are beautiful in a sleepy Chicago suburb and there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities year-round. "

"It is like a family there! A kind, Christian community. My uncle and aunt were cared for so very well and they were happy there to the very end of their lives. Our family highly recommend them!"

"Sedgebrook became my new HOME in July, 2025. I choose Sedgebrook because of the environment that was safe, secure and conducive to my lifestyle. The atmosphere of congeniality and professionalism was evident during the first tour. The residents have been friendly and helpful. The staff was warm and inviting. The apartment is perfect for me with large windows, new appliances and plenty of storage. Activities are many and geared to many interests. Meals are chef prepared and really very good. The welcoming climate has made the transition easy and comfortable."

"You will not find a place with friendlier and more accommodating staff. The residents are always very cordial and willing to help in any way possible. It is like living in an all-inclusive resort on a permanent basis."

"The people were wonderful. Julie, the one who gave me the tour, was phenomenal, and their follow-up was very good too. They would call me just to let me know how my mom was doing. The rooms were beautiful, and I would move there if I were old enough. To me, it was like a cruise ship without a casino. I was really impressed with it. My mom's doing great now, but if there's a change in anything, I would definitely move her there."

"Covenant Living at the Holmstad was a beautiful facility. Not only the building itself, but the landscaping was very large and beautiful. There were lots of places for residents to be able to walk. They had gardens and trees. It's the most beautiful place I've seen with a price to match. They request a large deposit and then monthly charges, which could increase yearly. There are no meals at all. The salespeople were extremely nice. It's just we can't afford it."

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"Everybody seemed very nice at Central Baptist. We ended up spending a lot of time talking to the residents. The rooms are very small but adequate. The dining area was clean, and the tables were nicely set. My aunt is on the waiting list for this place. "

"My mom is staying in Plymouth Place for rehab. This is a top-of-the-line, higher-end facility. I can't imagine any place would be any better than this. We just got lucky because the hospital allowed us, and there was space available, and we were able to come in here. So, we're fortunate for that. The staff is excellent. They are very attentive. My mother is almost 102 years old, and they are very patient with her and provide good, caring service. The food is excellent."

"St. Paul's has been providing long term care for many decades, originally as part of a service for Catholic sisters. The urban campus is located in a pleasant and safe northside neighborhood where street parking is usually easy to find nearby. The community at St. Paul's includes not only the Health Care Center, which this review speaks to, but also assisted living apartments. The Health Care Center has expanded and undergone additions and remodeling efforts in recent years. The newest area used for short term rehab is positively lovely, with upscale features and furnishings and larger rooms than the older section. The rehab program is well regarded in the professional community as is the long term care. The older area of the health care center includes modest sized common areas on the care floors which are used for meals and activities. Residents can also utilize the larger common areas on the main level that include a large dining room, a spacious and warmly decorated lobby, and a chapel. The older section of the Health Care Center has rooms that are average to smaller than average in size. Most are shared though some privates are available. The food at St. Paul's is good and seemingly above average with rarely a bad meal. Staffing turnover here seems below average for a facility of this type and locations, with many direct care and administrative staff that are long term employees. Clearly a mission driven organization, the commitment to compassionate and resident centered care is apparent and evidenced by most direct care staff, most of the time. "

"We found ourselves checking out the The Admiral at the Lake facility to find a place for our uncle to live. He has mild dementia and limited ambulatory ability, so we really needed to find a place that could accommodate that. Everyone at the facility was very friendly. The entire place was clean and well maintained. We could see by the staff that our uncle's needs could be met there; they were all very caring and kind. Each person seemed to really like their job, which is very important to us. The fabulous location is very near the lake, and our uncle really likes that. We will all be able to visit our uncle easily here, which is also an important bonus. There is plenty of entertainment and we could see that the staff and residents enjoyed interacting with each other during various board games. There is also a lot of outside visiting to art museums, book events and other stimulating cultural activities. We were served food that could easily be mistaken for that served in a five star restaurant; it was that good. The thing that really stood out about this facility was its spacious layout. The rooms and apartments were all equipped with the latest technology, but still had a homey feel. The views of Lake Michigan were truly gorgeous. The many amenities, including their onsite health and wellness program seems first rate. The overall lifestyle of this facility were truly remarkable. In fact, we were commenting that WE would like to live there! "
