Oak Park, Illinois, has a population of around 52,000 residents, with approximately 16 percent of those citizens either 65 years of age or older. Oak Park's seniors with some form of dementia can choose from nine memory care facilities in the community. These memory care facilities are assisted living and other residential facilities that are authorized to accommodate those with Alzheimer's or other dementias through an Alzheimer’s special care unit.
