My brother has been at The Sheridan at River Forest and we're going to keep him there. We chose it because they have memory care. The facility looks beautiful and it is clean. It's got all kinds of things of interest and all kinds of activities, even for the memory care people. Every day at 3:30, there is a gathering in the lobby where they can watch some stuff on TV and have drinks. It's like 'sit and chat with your neighbors while you're having a drink' with a 2-drink limit. They also have entertainment on Fridays. They bring in other entertainment unofficially during the week. They have a bus that drives people around for various excursions, like going to see the arboretum and things of that sort. They have a calendar and it gives a list of activities by day. So, you pick and choose. Memory care has more limited choices. I'm amazed at the staff. They all seem to know the names of all the people on their floor. And even when I walk in, they know me because I come there fairly often. They know me by name. Plus, inside the memory care, they're very attentive to the people. The food is excellent, too.

I had an in-person tour of The Sheridan at River Forest. They took me around the whole building. The tour experience was very delightful. I want to move there myself. They have a chef on staff. The place was very elegant, upscale, and beautiful. They have a spa, a workout room, and a sun terrace. The dining room was beautiful with white cloth tables. The rooms were very nice, larger than I thought, beautiful, with nice lighting and windows.
