My tour of Belmont Village Oak Park was perfect. I didn't have any complaints. It's very clean and very nice, and they're very informative. There were lots of amenities, activities, and a lot of services that you can use and utilize. The dining area was very clean and spacious. It's like not being in the cafeteria. It's more like a restaurant. Erin was very informative, answered all the questions, and provided information that we didn't ask for, which was great. It's like a very nice hotel. It's upscale.

I toured Belmont Village Oak Park. The appearance of the building was great. I only met a couple of staff members, but they were friendly and helpful. I met a few people who lived there and they liked it. The dining room was lovely. They had a lot of in-house activities. It was a beautiful facility.

Belmont Village Oak Park was one of the places we looked at that provided a 2-person assist. I loved this place. It was amazing. Erin is the person who worked with us there. I think she's the manager, and she was amazing. The location was awesome. I can't say anything negative at all about them. They were just outstanding. They had different sizes of studio units as well as 1-bedroom units. You did not get the sense at all that you were in any type of senior facility. It was very clean, very updated, and very well-staffed. The amenities for the property were on point. They had every extracurricular activity in there that you would want your mom or dad to use. They had physical therapy and a great dining area.

We chose Belmont Village Oak Park for my dad. It's very well-kept. The rooms are well-lit. You can tell the maintenance is very well there. The person who assisted me had been very helpful. They were having activities for the Christmas season like Christmas plays, bingo, and gatherings. They have a physical therapy workout room, and they have a stylist or a barber. The dining area was gorgeous because it was decorated for Christmas, but we didn't eat there. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

My brother has moved to Belmont Village Oak Park. It has fit the bill for us, they have many levels of care and he seems to be getting the care I was expecting. He's in a memory care ward but he's not in a secure ward. So they have a level between assisted and the secure ward, which is working very well for him. I was there daily last week, sometimes for hours at a time, and it's been very good so far. The staff is friendly, well-trained, and very caring. They notice things and bring them up, and we talk about them. I had a very open relationship with the staff as we were discussing what he needed and what he didn't. Their rooms have got nice windows and safe bathrooms. He's in one of the smaller ones, it's a simple bedroom but there's room for chairs and all that kind of good stuff. I saw the menu and I had some dinner there with him. I had a simple Caesar salad with some chicken on it, and it was fine. They have special activities for the memory unit and he seems to be settling into some of those.

I visited Belmont Village Oak Park. I liked it. They have great activities and things like that. They didn't have as much outdoor space as I would like for my mother, but I had a very favorable impression of them. I like the fact that it's a small community, I like the fact that there was a very homey family feel, and I like the fact that a lot of medical services were available. They're maybe a block away from Rush Medical Center Oak Park, and so they have a PCP from the hospital coming once a week. They have other specialists coming in from the hospital. I like the range of medical services that they have available through Rush Oak Park. They have a nice, spacious one-bedroom that I like, and they have a lot of other services like physical therapy and things like that. The only negative about it was that they had a small courtyard, which is the only outdoor area that they had, and I was looking for more of outdoor space for my mother. But given that I've looked at other places with a lot more outdoor space and I didn't like them, this may be one of my top contenders.

I went to Belmont Village Oak Park. The appearance was very nice, it's very clean, and it makes you feel almost like you're at home. It's a very nice feeling in the place. Very professional, very knowledgeable, very engaging young lady. She knew information about the location and she was very informative. That place had a lot of things to offer, a lot of in-house amenities and comforts, and it was a very nice location. The tenants there seemed very friendly, very comfortable, they didn't seem stressed in a facility of that nature. It looked like they offered a wide variety of foods for the tenants. It was a nice community.

Belmont Village Oak Park was clean, presentable, and the staff was very accommodating. I saw their studio apartment. It was a reasonable size with a nice layout. I saw the activities for their assisted living, but not for the memory care where my mother would go. They have good security, and it appeared safe. It was clean and inviting. The staff members were friendly. It's under construction now because of COVID, and they're being modified. They have a salon, a TV room, and physical and occupational therapy onsite.

We liked Belmont Village Oak Park. The room was nice and everything was something that my sister would like. The staff was very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. The facility was lovely, very nice, and very community oriented. I could take her out and go places with her very close to the facility. There were people eating when we got there. The food looked good, but we were not able to try it.

My mother loved Belmont Village. She really liked it. If the other facility was not to our liking, then we probably would have gone with Belmont Village. However, it's a little bit more money and it is further to get to. The staff was very nice, but I didn't get to interact with too many of them, just this one person, and she was very nice. We saw the dining area, but they said that most of the residents were being restricted to their rooms because of the virus. The dining area looked elegant, very pretty, and was like a restaurant. The amenities were very nice. They had everything that we were looking for. They had kitchenettes in the apartments, carpeting and handrails. They had everything. The facilities were very good, clean, and smelled good. You can tell that people care about cleanliness.

Belmont Village Oak Park was beautiful, and the staff was very open and friendly. I went there for a tour, and it was bright and you could tell that they were focusing on activities because I saw some sessions going on and people seemed quite involved. It was in the area that we wanted to be. It's our number one choice. The meal we had was very good.

My husband is in Belmont Village Oak Park. It's very inviting. It has a nice lunchroom and they serve excellent food. They seem to be a very caring group of workers. They're not doing much right now, but they play bingo and they had song groups. They're pretty well rounded.

I was very impressed with all the staff members I encountered at Belmont Village Oak Park. They were very warm, friendly, and very welcoming. I liked them a lot. In fact, they were my top choice as far as location, facility, and everything. The only problem was it was right next to the hospital where my mother-in-law's son died. That was the only negative about it. They assured me that if she did choose that, they could give her a room that didn't face the hospital.

Belmont Village Oak Park is nice, but it's a smaller community and the rooms are so small. They make me feel claustrophobic. It's smaller than a hospital room. It's nice, but for the price, I don't want that small room. The people are fine. The staff is good. I like them. They seem to be into their job and into their clients. They are very professional. The administrative person has very good customer service etiquette. They got right to the point and they showed me all the areas that are available to the clients. They were thorough. They have arts and crafts, physical therapy, exercise, and outings. The cleanliness was excellent too. Everything was nice and warm.

When my dad got too sick, we moved them to Belmont Village, where they've been for about 1½ years. We had a double unit for my mom and dad, which was bigger than usual with two very large rooms and a minimal kitchen area with a sink and a full-sized refrigerator, which they never used because they feed them three meals a day. There was always sunlight streaming into their unit. Unfortunately, the view was a wall of the back of the building next to them but wonderful sunshine. They have daily activities, so there's a common room halfway down the hall where they have their meals or their activity or where just residents hang out quite a bit. Right outside the common room, there's a little living room sitting area where they also have activities. They specialize in dementia patients, so there is some different activities based on how severe the impairment is. They have specific programs for each resident. They have giant Legos that are very easy for big hands to handle, which my dad sort of enjoyed being stimulated by them. There are six floors, and two of the floors are locked, so residents can't wander. They cluster the severely impaired patients on those floors. The dining area is like a restaurant with a menu that is quite good but too elaborate for demenia patients. When we visit, we can make a reservation and eat on the first floor with my parents.

My mom has been at Belmont Village for 5years. They've been wonderful years for her & for me. Not only is Belmont a great facility, it has done the most important thing of all - taken the stress of worrying about my dear, sweet Mom off my mind & heart. My mother has Alzheimers. She is in an advanced state but in good health & spirit. I live in another state so I am not able to see her as much as I would like to. The staff at Belmont keeps me abreast of her life there, good & bad. It's like having a professional family working w/you to cover all the needs of your loved one. I'm notified of Moms appts., physical therapy, personal needs & even her moods. The staff keeps a close eye out for anything "different" that may need the assistance of a nurse or a doctor. Any doctor appts., a PAL (staff member) goes w/Mom to make sure she's safe & also to keep her company. The relationship between Mom & the PALS is of utmost importance. Mama is accustomed to their faces & kindness. She trusts & enjoys them even tho she may not always "mind" them. The residents are not forced to do anything, just gently guided w/patience next to Godliness. Speaking of guidance, there is so much activity going on at Belmont, believe your loved one will be kept alert & on their toes. They hear the news, (via the PALS), the date, see movies, exercise & are constantly having celebrations from birthdays to holidays. The nurse administers meds on a schedule as dictated by your doctor. And any changes or questionable physical conditions will be reported to you by the Belmont Village nurse. They keep a sharp eye out on my mom as she can't communicate aches, pains, etc. because of her Alzheimers. I've grown to appreciate them more than I could ever convey. The residence itself is beautiful. I'm happy to know my mom is walking around surrounded by windows, plants, pictures, comfy chairs & couches with music playing. By the way, the residences are always welcomed to sing along & they sure do. When I'm in for a visit, I attend the parties & sing along too! It's fun & easy to see the residents are enjoying themselves. My mom is always well groomed & she gets mani/pedis at the beauty salon right on the premises. I speak to her often as there is a phone on her floor that I can call anytime of the day or night. Hearing Moms voice & her hearing mine as often as I want is a blessing. Every once in a while, she'll ask me to call back later as she's having so much fun involved in some activity or other she "can't talk". Yes, I did say she is in an advanced state of Alzheimers. The staff at Belmont have provided her such excellent care, she does quite a few things that are pleasantly surprising. I can honestly say she is thriving! I can't leave out a little something that EVERYBODY comments on & likes - the food!! The food!! The food!! Any special diet requirements are strictly monitored but never the less the food manages to stay yummy. I don't know how Belmont does it but my Mom, who LOVES the food, is still in good shape! I'd be bigger than a snow person if it was me but that's also a testament to the professionals in the kitchen. The cooking & menus are balanced & healthy! Lots of smiling tummies at meal time. Sounds like a little piece of heaven on earth, right? Well, it is. Watching our loved ones age is a tough reality. Do yourself a favor & house them somewhere they'll be happy, carefully monitored, well feed, kept busy having fun & loved. Yes, I said loved! The peace of mind you receive will be priceless. I am lucky to have found Belmont Village and I am grateful to have my Mommie reside there.

Belmont Village Oak Park seemed a little sterile, and I didn't see a lot of residents down in the lobby. There wasn't a lot of activity, but it was OK. Everything was a la carte, so whatever extra things you would need, it would add to the price. The place was nice, but I did not get a warm feeling from the staff or from the residents.

Belmont Village of Oak Park was a nice place but did not fit our needs. The facility felt like a senior living home, which I don't think is a good fit for my mother-in-law because she was younger than the residents there, and they did not look lively, although we did see them doing activities. The staff was nice. The rooms were clean and nice. The common areas were well kept, clean, and nice, but as soon as we walked in, the energy felt sad. It wasn’t as lively as I expected it to be.
Provider Response
Thank you for your visit and your feedback. We are a senior living community catering to the needs of older adults, but our residents do maintain an active social life and choose from a full daily calendar of events, activities and outings. We understand the importance of finding the right fit for your specific situation and we wish you the best in your search.

I chose Belmont Village because it specializes in memory care, and my father has been diagnosed with dementia. The rooms are nice. Both my parents are there, and my mother complains that there is not a lot of variety of food. Basically, it is the same menu every day except for one special that changes. The portions are small, but they do get three meals a day. They have a shuttle van that takes them to doctor appointments and to various local stores. There are three things that I like about them. First, the memory care because if his condition deteriorates, they have a separate floor and activities which not all places have. Second, I can get there by public transportation. Third, I like that it looks smaller. It is not a huge place, so I am hoping that it will give them a little bit more personalized care, and they do have a nurse on staff 24 hours a day on every floor.

When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease 6 years ago, I began to think forward to the time when she would no longer be able to live on her own. Unfortunately, it was evident this past summer that she was no longer safe living independently, nor could she keep up with the responsibilities of home maintenance. As a hospice nurse, I had become familiar with the array of assisted living facilities in the area. When posing the question to my peers as to where they would have their loved ones live, Belmont Village of Oak Park was mentioned over and over again. From my first phone call I knew that Belmont was special and the ideal place for Mom to begin her new life. All of my questions were answered thoroughly, and preparing for Mom’s move was done with precision and efficiency.. We were blessed to be guided in the journey by Rollin, who showed us all of the available rooms (numerous times!) until we were able to envision the perfect one for Mom. Upon her move, Mom was immediately enveloped by the compassion and kindness that is the hallmark of the facility. She is in awe of the variety of activities offered, and the way that she feels cared for and loved. She looks and feels better now that she is eating regularly and healthfully, and speaks constantly of the special group of friends who have become like family. I truly have never seen her this happy or stimulated. I feel such a sense of peace knowing that the Belmont Village of Oak Park family has made her life so joyful.

I was looking for a place to put my mom where if her money runs out; she will be where Medicaid or Medicare whatever comes next. There are very few places that do that. The ones that are decent, you have to pay big money for. The rooms and apartment here at Belmont Village are gorgeous. It is like living in a hotel. The dining room looked beautiful although I didn't eat there. You can smell what they were cooking, and there were several choices you can pick from every day. It was wonderful. The staff is excellent. In fact, they are still in contact with me. My mom was going to go to a memory care. They are affiliated with the Rush Hospital who was working with all the memory care people there. It was very excellent. I would have taken her there, but the price was way too much for us. I happened to be there one day, and they had just gotten finished watching a video on a penguin. They then went to the kitchen to make cookies from a cookie cutter that was shaped like a penguin. They were going to frost them and eat them at lunch time. They had an art project where they decorate their own penguin which goes on their Monday wall. They kept them going, and it was just beautiful.

Once you get past the beautiful facade you will find everything they assure you is taken care of you will have to fight for from room furnishings to finding THE nurse, yes ONE nurse for the entire building. Do you know how many times they don't even show up for work and who can blame them? Once they get you on there, it's hard to get a hold of anyone or return your calls. Everyone seems on this giddy high over good food and extracurricular activities, but lacking common sense in geriatric care. My mother has been asking to see their in house doctor for a month and he didn't come. I am getting her out of there ASAP. For that kind of money (they told her to start out with maximum care for 6,000 a month), and all she's gotten is a studio, meals and parties. We could do better on a cruise ship or hotel. I wouldn't even mind the price if I had peace of mind but to have to hire a private nurse on top of this is ridiculous, they should be ashamed of how they misappropriate people's life savings.

Belmont Village Oak Park is a very pleasant and homey place. I think it is quite adequately staffed. There is a very nice dining room where all the assisted living patients have their meals. They have one or two closed floors for advanced Alzheimer's patients. So those folks stay on their floor, and they have their help there. The staff is very responsive with whatever problems that might arise. I think it is a very good quality place. My husband is in a studio apartment. It is a large room with very nice closet space for his clothes. It has a small kitchenette with a microwave, a sink, and cabinets. He has meals in the dining room, but he does keep snacks in his room. It has a big window with a view. They provide cable TV service, but we brought our own television. There is physical therapy on his floor right across from his room where he exercises regularly. They have bingo three times a week after dinner. During the day they have movies. They have trivia games led by the activities director. They have a lot of musical entertainment. There are a lot of things to enjoy.

We went to Belmont Village and we loved it. It was an excellent place. The rooms were very nice, roomy and very spacious. The staff was excellent. They couldn't have been nicer or more nurturing. We ate their food and it was excellent. They had a restaurant-type variety of food that you could order off the menu. The dining room was spacious. They had people come in and entertain for everyone. They did craft activities and they took the residents on trips.

A family friend recommended Belmont Village for my mom. It is a nice facility. Very pretty indeed. The accommodations are fine and nice in general. They have activities for their residents, like exercise class. Food is average and palatable. The staff is basically good but many of them are uncaring. Plus, they're short-staffed. Nothing is on time or it would take very long time to get anything straightened out. However, things are being handled. I would have to give them credit for that. They do try hard to meet their clients' needs. Would I recommend this place? If they don't have great need as far as being cared for, yeah, this facility is fine, but for older people, I don't know.

Belmont Village is just like a nursing home. My mother didn't like that. There were not enough independent people there for her. It was well-staffed and the people were friendly. They could go outside to their little sitting areas or barbecue areas. It was nice. They had activities like movie nights, bingo, exercises, arts and crafts. They had outings for the residents.

What I liked most about this facility was the friendliness of the staff. They were very pleasant and nice and my mother seemed very happy about the fact that she could talk with them about some of her favorite topics, like cooking and science fiction novels. She could also do some activities and it seemed pleasant for her. She seemed very accustomed to the place and we could also visit her every time we wanted to.It was not like we left here there without visiting it, like we wanted not to have her around us. We visited her every time we wanted. Also, I was satisfied with Belmont Village of Oak Park facility because of its reliability and convenience for everyone. Both me and my husband were satisfied with it and my mother seemed even happier about it. I am really satisfied with this assisted living facility. Everyone is satisfied, the quality of their work is high and the price is very nice!

I have never been in a more impressive assisted living facility. The Belmont Village looked more like a luxury condominium facility than an assisted living space. The hallways and lobby were all ornately decorated. Each hallway had nice furniture to lounge on. My grandfather's room was a bit small but still very nice. The bathroom had brand-new tub, sink, medicine cabinet etc. The large window also let in plenty of light into the space. I thought the staff at Belmont Village were exceptionally friendly. I visited my grandfather frequently at the building and the nurses would frequently check up on him to see if he needed anything. From what I know, he had 24/7 care and could call the front desk to have someone assist him. My only major complaint about the facility was the lack of rooms available to visitors. My grandfather's room wasn't big enough to host more than 2 people. My family had wished on several occasions to spend the evening but couldn't because the building did not have any spare rooms for us to rent.

I was at an upscale assisted living care facility for senior citizens today for a job fair I went to. I got a good look around the place, and I have to say, it did seem rather nice. It had a below ground parking garage for visitors use, a very nicely decorated lobby, spacious rec and meeting rooms, a well equipped kitchen with hired chefs, and regular bingo sessions and other activities for the residents. It seemed like a pretty plush joint, likely for the moderately wealthy. Lots of staff were seen walking about, busy on their tasks and every one of the residents I saw seemed reasonably happy to be there. Apparently they even allow pets, as I recall seeing a small dog being walked through one of the parlors to avoid having to go through the crowded lobby and getting overly excited. I can only guess residents get treated very well there and receive good medical attention and care.

I visited Belmont Village at noon on a Saturday and the place was hopping. There were several visitors checking the place out and the dining room looked at full capacity. I was surprised that I could see the dining room when I walked in, but I guess there is nothing wrong with that except that it did seem like they were showcasing their dining room. Overall the facility seems lovely, although a bit congested, but that could have been because it was lunch time and everyone was eating. The lobby is smallish, but nice with a fireplace and comfortable chairs. You can watch residents being served as well as eating from the lobby. The aromas were good and I was impressed with the wait staff calling the residents "honey" and sweetheart" and overall being patient and kind. I spontaneously asked one of the residents how the food was and he told me without hesitation, "good." My tour guide told me that Belmont Village is known for their chef. The receptionist was very nice and offered me a cup of coffee or tea while I waited for my tour. The apartments were also nice, clean and spacious with a lot of closet space. The hallways were immaculate. There are very few two bedroom apartments, but the one bedrooms are large enough for two people. I was told that occasionally couples come together and each get a studio. I did notice in the kitchens that there are no ovens, so residents are encouraged to eat in the dining room. Meals can be delivered to the residents' apartments for free as long as they don't make a habit of it. I was told that there is a resident's council and, like the Oak Park community, very vocal and active. Belmont Village is by no means inexpensive, but is comparable in price to the other assisted living facilities in Oak Park. It did seem that if cost is an issue that the management is willing to work with you. Other amenities include a underground garage and a gated outdoor terrace. There is a separate unit for Alzheimer's patients. One thing that did impress me were the staff. I spoke to several and each was extremely courteous. I would recommend this facility if you can afford it.
