"My mom has been at Belmont Village of Glenview for about two months now, and so far it has been good. Their activities are exceptional. They offer private rooms with one or two bedrooms. They also provide 24-hour nursing care, but it is not a nursing home. They also have call lights in their room. I would say that their nursing staff is average. They offer three meals a day. I have eaten there several times, and I think that their food is above average. "

"I think its dining area and rooms are very good. The grounds are very well kept. They have a church and a nurse that visits the rooms. They also have activities, like bingo, holiday parties, and different things like that."

"I'm moving into Amazing Grace Senior Living. I like it. It's close to home. I'm giving it a 5 because of the care they show there. It's new. The people are happy, too. The staff member who assisted me was Susan, and she was good. I tried their food, and it was good. I was hungry, and I missed lunch, so they gave me a sandwich. It was a tasty sandwich, better than anything I got at the other place. The rooms were adequate. At the other place, you get a two-room suite, but at Amazing Grace, it is a fairly small room, but it has a private bath and a nice window."

"My parents-in-law are in Norwood Crossing in an area called Norwood Park in Chicago. My mother-in-law just moved in yesterday and my father-in-law has been there for two months in rehabilitation. They have both been appreciating and enjoying the activities there for about a month. They are very friendly there and they're getting good care. The staff are very involved in the well being of the residents. It's a wonderful place and I would recommend this facility to others. "

"The staff were very friendly. Everyone seemed very happy, not only the staff but the residents. There are smiles on their faces. Most of them were engaged in an activity. The rooms were nice sized, not overly spacious, but just enough. They had a nice little kitchenette, a nice-sized bedroom, and a bathroom. The dining area looked comfortable. It had tables all setup. The menu looked good and had nice options. It's more like a restaurant. The indoors were very nice. Everything's good and very comfortable. They had mahjong and bingo and one was sitting in the library at that time."

"It was very open and very clean. They had a nice patio out back. It seemed like they had pretty good activities. They had a fireplace. They had a little bar where they have a happy hour. It's a pretty new facility, so it's clean. Their costs were a little expensive. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to know a lot about the elderly care facilities. The facility looked pretty good."

"Autumn Green at Wright Campus was very comfortable. The apartment was a good size. They had motion sensors in the apartment, so if there's no motion within so many hours, they'll check on you, which is nice. They had a sprinkler system in case of fire. Size-wise, everything was good, and my friend really liked it. The staff was very nice. The dining area seemed very relaxed. It didn't seem like a café; it seemed more like you're having dinner in your dining room. It was a very comfortable setting. They had quite a few activities. There was an outside area, but it was raining that day. We didn't go outside at all. One side of the building is facing the football field at the new Taft High School, so if you're into football, you get front row seats for the games."

"My father is currently at The Moorings of Arlington Heights. I've been impressed with the people so far, especially compared to where he was at for rehab. They check on him perhaps more often than when he was in rehab. The director is accessible. The admissions person was very helpful. In general, the facility is gorgeous. It is nice. The dining room is great. They get a choice of meals. Just all around, we've been impressed. My father is in a one-bedroom, but they have a variety of rooms. With regard to activities, he's not participating, but there are a ton of them. I've seen the schedules and everything. There are a lot available. They have a library and a beauty salon. They have a lake with a walking path around it. We got to see the food my father got and the options that they have, and they're pretty impressive. For what you're getting for the cost, it's reasonable."

"It was fine, and a lovely experience. The staff was lovely, informative, and helpful. The rooms were fine, adequate, clean, and well laid out, however, it was a bit far away. It's welcoming, small, and it had a nice garden. They have a bus, and they try to have activities for the residents. The dining room looked like a restaurant."

"We toured Lincolnwood Place, and it was really nice. I liked the fact that it's a safe environment for them, but it also gives them a lot of freedom. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice, very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and not pushy. We saw two apartments, and they were beautiful, nicely setup, and clean. In fact, everything in the facility was very clean. The dining room was very nice and very welcoming. It was not your typical cafeteria style. It was restaurant style with a menu and tablecloths. They have an outing once a week. They had a billiard room, a card room, a bingo room, a room where they show movies, piano players that come, game rooms with tables with different games, and an outdoor area which was very nice and spacious."

"I am in a bedroom den at Clarendale. The apartment is far more spacious than other places . The staff is fabulous- and the food is very good. As it is very new, there are new activities and services all the time. I decided on independent living as I am new to the city and knew very few people. The community is fascinating, interesting, and fun! I have all the privacy and independence I want, and friends to join with whenever I want. Yes, I’d love to be right downtown, but it’s very available, and the outings are fabulous and well planned. Much more than I expected!"

"My brother will be moving into Victory Centre of Galewood. It's a diverse community and we're looking for a place where my brother can speak languages, Spanish and English. There are a lot of people who speak both languages. Depending on how he feels, he might be able to speak any language he chooses if he knows who he's speaking to. So, Spanish is his primary language, but he's been in the States more time than the time he was in Puerto Rico. So, he's able to use both languages there. It's very open. Once you come in, it's like you come into a large place, but it's not that large. It looks like a place where there is a lot to do and there's space, and things are not crowded. It has a garden on the second floor, which is beautiful. It is very clean. They have a beauty salon. They have a weight room, a place to do exercises, and a library. They have a lot of activities, and they're pretty busy in terms of the activities that they do with people that live there."
