"What is Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale? It is located at 285 East Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. When you first enter the building, there is a smiling face greeting you, Kristina: “Hi, may I help you?” She will steer you to Sandy, Denise or Gigi to help you. These individuals are very knowledgeable about this location. This five-story building is very clean. When walking the hall, you will see railings on both sides, in order to help us stay up. They really help. Ron heads up the maintenance department. Just remember to fill out a work order form at the front desk and he will always get to you to help you with your problems. The nursing staff consists of four outstanding RNs under the guidance of Amy. They are there when we fall in the hall, in the lunchroom or apartment. They also answer questions we may have about our medications. All of the CNAs are great with helping with walkers, wheel chairs and giving our medications. Some of us need assistance with personal grooming, bathing and dressing. There is also Home Health Agency located on the first floor. Nurse Kim and two therapists, one physical and occupational, have helped many residents with their rehab. Jackie heads up the lunchroom staff. The menus show good planning. We have so much to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There re no assigned seats and most of the residents are very courteous. Kelly has her hands full for heading up the activities. Just think: how would you like to try keeping close to ninety (90) residents busy, enjoying the days when it’s raining or snowing outside? She does a wonderful job with her staff. We have snacks for the residents that can be picked up at the front desk. Plus, there is a hospitality cart every Friday that goes to every floor. A beauty shop is located on the first floor and is for both men and women. You can check for time scheduled at the front desk. The trash room has bins for recyclable items and to throw the trash down the shoot. We have laundry rooms on the 2nd through 5th floors. These are a few of the remarkable thing that make us enjoy our stay at Alden Gardens of Bloomingdale. "

"I really liked Victory Centre of River Woods, and even my sister came in and saw the facility last month, and she liked it as well. The place is in proximity to where I live, and it’s really a beautiful area. I loved the layout, we saw companion suites, we saw singles, and they were both very nice. Some of the residents we met were really nice. My husband’s uncle actually lived there for around two years, and that’s a plus too."

"Sunrise of Bloomingdale was very clean and the staff were very polite. When we went there it was night, so they did not have anything going and I did not see anything, but they had a calendar showing the activities they did have. The lady told us that there was someone who was in charge of those activities. Their dining room was the typical dining room -- nothing fancy, just very plain. "

"My mother is moving in. The staff are terrific. Christina is the individual I worked with, and she has been fabulous. We had some unusual circumstances, and she tried to be very, very helpful getting the right answers. I give her a very strong rating. The place is very clean and updated. We were pleased with it. The dining room was closed due to Covid. They have been so accommodating. I would like something closer, but it has what we want for my mom, which includes the pool. It is a little bit farther than where we wanted to go, and it is not a catholic facility."

"The Sheridan at Park Ridge is a very nice facility. It was clean. It looked like they were great caregivers. They were interacting with the people and kind of making you feel comfortable about the care that they give to people. The residents looked very happy. They have a dining hall and a gym area for the seniors if they want to do that. They have guest areas, too. The staff who gave me a tour was very nice. She followed up and called me a couple of days later. She's very thorough and very flexible because I had to move my schedule twice. I didn't get to see the entire facility. It would have been nice to see a little bit more. I only saw the studio. They have a beauty salon and a physical therapy area."

"The Amazing Grace Senior Living seemed like a nice place to take care of the medical needs that my mother-in-law would need. It's assisted living and there are nurses there 24/7. It's close to home and it's religious. So we could go see her and it will make it convenient for us. It's a little homey and it looks clean. We had pizza, salad, and a fruit cocktail during our tour, and it was all good."

"Sunrise at Fountain Square was very, very nice and very friendly. Probably, that's where I would go. The people were excellent. When I was there, I noticed activities that were going on. There were activities upstairs and I could see the participation of people doing physical exercises. In the coffee shop, they had a game going on and the participants were volunteer people who were coming down early for dinner and they were playing a game. Then there were people in the hallways that were talking with each other and it was an excellent environment that I would like to live in."

"I thought Autumn Green at Wright Campus was a very nice facility. I thought it was probably a notch below the one that I also visited. They provided meals, they had activities, and there were games so I liked it."

"Victory Centre at Galewood is pretty good. The staff members are good at making my mom feel welcome and giving her information about what activities they have going on. The seniors there are friendly. They have taken her under their wing, and have shown her different things. They escorted her to dinner. They also talked to her at dinner and all that stuff. It's a friendly community. They don't have a full gym for the seniors to exercise in. However, my mom likes bingo and the religious church they have. It's a friendly environment."

"My mother was at Norwood Crossing. She went in sort of in the lowest level of care, she was living pretty independently, and they did medication checks, and then as time went on she became very ill and she unfortunately was admitted into their hospice program and passed away. Nevertheless, I cannot say enough good things about them, they were just unbelievably fabulous through every phase of my mother's time there. They're really loving, fabulous people, and I would not hesitate to recommend people look at that facility. Everybody from the cleaning people to the medical staff, the physical therapists, they were fantastic, and I'm in heathcare, so I'm a hard sell, so they were really good. My mother always had issues with the food, so she did not like the food there, and sadly she complained about it. Early on my mother had her own little apartment, which was really nice because she got to have her own furniture and even her cat. They also had a wing of nursing beds that she stayed in when she was in hospice, and that was fine. They had a whole range of activities both inside as well as outside, and they had transportation, too. For the price point it was also great."

"At this point, we're 90% sure we're going to go to Sunrise of Park Ridge. We went there, and we liked them. I told them we were very interested. My mom has to be evaluated, but we're fairly sure it would be in the assisted living area. The location fits in pretty well with where we live. They showed us the different rooms that were available and the general facility. Everything seemed to come together. They gave me a follow-up call. We will go there and talk a little bit more later this week. The person who toured us around was very knowledgeable. They have refrigerator, but there is no microwave in the unit. You have to supply the microwave."

"The Moorings is very nice and has independent living, assisted care, and nursing facility. I've eaten in the dining room, and I visited several rooms there. They have an exercise room, a pool, and a large movie room in the assisted living. The staff is very professional. It's bright, cheery, clean, and the records appear to be well kept. They have musical programs."
