"In general, I think that this is a beautiful facility, obviously upscale, but in extremely good taste. There is a library and a little shopping area with candy and jewelry. There is a very nice dining area. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. The one draw back is the parking in the back of the building, which is often full and it is hard to find parking on the street. This is definately an urban setting. Many of the patients are Holocaust survivors. The staff are very helpful and will work with the patient and the family if there are financial or other problems. The facility offers an array of activities -- opera programs, ice cream socials, current events, etc. The facility also provides religious programming and services for the mainly Jewish population. There are individual apartments where residents can live in an independent living situation. There is also continued care and nursing home facility on other floors. On the top floor is a lovely activity room with glass windows. Sometimes there is a pianist who plays music. Patients can go up and get an icecream cone or can go out on the roof patio when the weather is nice. I would highly recommend this facility. The patients that I talked to seemed happy because there are many activities that are offered. "

"I am pleasantly and positively impressed with the amount and variety of activities that are offered to the residents of Three Crowns. The coverage in terms of hours of the day with activationists/recreation therapists is more than what I see in other organizations. The staff appear to know the residents very well, so that they know how to tailor the programs and encourage participation in the programming. "

"I went to Addolorata Villa. It was a very pleasant tour. It was an older building than the other one. Because I am a Catholic, it offered the religious services that I would like. The woman giving the tour kind of focused on activities and seemed interested in learning what my interests and hobbies were to make sure that we were making a good fit and I think it could be. I felt they had a very good activity schedule that you could be as busy 24/7 if you cared to be. There was a very pleasant large deck-type area where they have the raised beds for gardening, which appeal to me. I don't do any gardening at my home because I can't get down on my hands and knees, so I thought that was nice and pleasant. It's a very pretty campus. It kind of reminded me of a college campus. We were thereafter lunchtime. We weren't offered a meal, but she offered beverages and snacks and brought a large basket of snacks in while we were talking."

"My mother has moved into Victorian Village. It's very clean and well organized. The food is good. The staff is very good. They have a little dining hall and a little get-together place out in front of the building. They have physical therapy, they do Bingo and Wii bowling, and they have a bus that will take them shopping. They had a Christmas party last week, and they had kids come in from different high schools and did musicals."

"We loved Covenant Living at the Holmstad. It was lovely. I would love to have my mom go there. Everybody knew each other. The residents knew the staff and said hi to them as we walked through the place. The 2-bedroom was phenomenal. It would fit my mother's needs completely. It would have been just perfect. They had so many amenities and so many things that they do like going out shopping and all these things. It's a fun and caring place for people that have limited ways to get around and that needed just a little bit of care."

"Beautiful facility with such warm and wonderful staff. Katie and Joseph were amazing to work with. They helped my Mom and I through the whole process , making it seamless. Comfortable large apartment with great safety features . My mom is looking forward to getting involved with all the activities available. This place offers everything seniors need to live long healthy lives. "

"I am a very happy resident in Independent Living here in Beacon Hill, Lombard IL. I was drawn by the fact that Medicare and IDPH both give 5-star ratings to our Health Center. I found exactly the right place for me to age gracefully, with physical and social support. FYI, we spent 5 years studying 12 retirement communities before selecting Beacon Hill in Lombard, head & shoulders above the rest. I think people should shop around -- just make sure you include Beacon Hill in your search. Visitors have told me they can see and feel our community's friendly and energetic "personality." "While driving through the western suburbs of Chicago, we decided to stop in and visit Plymouth Place, since we were looking for an assisted living facility where our aunt could live. We were impressed that they could accommodate our last-minute visit. The area is convenient for our aunt, who has many friends in the area. The main area seemed clean and well tended. The staff was very nice and seemed to treat the residents kindly. They also accommodate most senior circumstances with a variety of living options available. We thought our aunt would like the little park area outside, which was close to the main door. We also thought it looked as though the staff could easily manage all of the residents, which is important to us. Our aunt has a tendency to wander off at times, so her safety is a concern for us. They have a variety of the typical activities that assisted living facilities usually have "“ plus more and they take suggestions from family, friends and residents. The food looked well-prepared and appetizing and smelled very good. The dining room had a homey, nice vibe with comfortable furnishings. The rooms we saw were all nicely decorated "“ and better looking than the main room we first saw. The exercise room was well equipped and offered classes regularly. The book selection, which is important to our aunt "“ was quite nice. Overall, the facility looked like a nice place to live for seniors and the staff was very accommodating. "

"Central Baptist doesn't offer two-bedroom apartments unless you're married; they only offered one-bedroom apartments when I visited. They're very accommodating, and the food is excellent. "

"I toured this facility looking for a place for my Dad. It appears to be more assisted than independent living (which is not what we are looking for). The place is very clean, and I like that three meals a day are included, as well as all utilities. The studio was very small though - no kitchen area, just a microwave and tiny fridge in a closet like a hotel. Staff seemed very nice/friendly. Not enough activities for someone truly independent - but probably a nice choice for someone who isn't quite as active. "

"My wife, Ann, and I moved to Oak Trace in 2010. We feel very blessed and fortunate to be living at Oak Trace over the past 10 years. Throughout this pandemic, the Oak Trace administration and staff have been very cautious and careful and watchful for all of us. As with everyone in most places we are on “lock down” -- meals are delivered to our rooms at our requested times, and masks are always worn by staff and encouraged by residents when out of our apartments. While all programs -- which in “normal time” are very extensive in entertainment, inspiration and education – are now cancelled, the Oak Trace in-house TV brings programs throughout every day, including exercise, devotional/inspirational messages, and entertainment to keep us involved and connected. The meals are extraordinary in variety and taste and nutrition, all delivered. Some items can be purchased on site. In cases of need the staff even makes grocery store purchases and delivery. All in all, we believe that Oak Trace is an almost perfect place to be isolated during this pandemic. It will end before many new people move in, but be assured that the care and concern for each resident will continue when the “new normal” takes effect! "

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"Mom is at Windsor Park Manor, and her stay here is good. We really like the staff, as they are really good. They seem well trained and very caring. The food is just marginal. Not great, but it isn't bad. The location is very good. The one thing for me that they need to improve on is probably the food. "
