The Sunrise of Palos Park was nice. The tour itself was very concise. The place was very clean and organized. The rooms were spacious. It felt like a small apartment. I liked their rooms a lot. The staff members were very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. They had a small courtyard.

I toured Sunrise of Palos Park. What I like best is that it's open. It's an airy place, it's bright. The hallways are large and the people seem very friendly. The person who gave us a tour seemed to know a lot of the residents there by name. She would greet them when we came by. They seemed like they cared about the residents there. They showed us an area where the residents can get together, talk, and enjoy themselves. They showed us the places where they eat. They showed us an outside area where they can gather and enjoy the weather when it's nice.

My husband will be moving into Sunrise of Palos Park. It met all his needs. It gives you a home-like feeling. They have activity rooms. Their dining, menu, and nursing care were excellent. The staff member was very knowledgeable and caring. She gave an excellent presentation.

I did an initial tour of Sunrise of Palos Park. It has a very homey feeling and looked very clean. It looked like a nice place to stay, and the aesthetic was good. The staffs were very professional. Their dining area looked very nice. They had private rooms and the room that I saw was large enough that my sister would be able to bring a couch, a bed, and different things. The bathroom had a walk-in shower that's got large enough room for the walker or wheelchair, for those needing assistance. It looked like a little apartment.

I went to look at Sunrise of Palos Park. I like the homey feeling of it. The people there that I met were super kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend this one. Unfortunately, they did not have the space in their memory care facility for my mom. The person who gave me the tour was the maintenance gentleman because the person who was supposed to give me the tour was running late. He was fabulous, a great guy, and seemed very knowledgeable of the facility. You could tell that he cared about his job. The rooms were a little bit smaller and not quite as updated. The atmosphere was good. It was just a very comfortable feeling. The people were out and about. They were sitting out on the front porch and common areas. It seemed like they were enjoying themselves. The staff was there helping out as much as they could. The facility was decorated a little bit more like the 1980s.

I had a very good visit with Sunrise of Palos Park. It was very thorough, self explanatory, and had very many options. I enjoyed it, the fact that there are very many options for entertainment for the people that will be living there. It's very spacious. There were options for eating early or later. Those are things that I've noticed, especially for the meals that you could have an early breakfast or a little later breakfast or early lunch, and a little later on lunch. Very clean, lots of light. I think it gives the opportunity for the guests to put the furniture if the guest wishes to have it. The person that was my guide was very thorough, very polite, and very open to questions. The dining area looked very good/looked very nice. It looked like most of the people would have a chance to be on their own at the table, or at most would be like two to the table, so that I kind of liked it as well. I did not see the food or I did not eat anything, but I believe there are options as far as diets and so forth. For activities, I saw they were just simply playing, throwing the dice on the table, I don't know what it is called.

We went to see Sunrise of Palos Park and we liked it very much. I don't have anything negative to say. I think that it was very well staffed, very clean, and everybody was very hospitable so we were very impressed. They showed us both the assisted living and memory care part. I was very, very satisfied with what I saw like the care that everybody was getting and the warmth of the place. I didn't see the amenities but I saw on my pamphlet that they have those. They have some courtyards and there's a lot of seating outside in different areas. There's a beauty shop and they have a lot of activities too so it was very, very nice.

I thought Sunrise of Palos Park was nice. Jenna was very thorough and answered all my questions. The place was very clean and I liked the way the facility was set up. The pricing was just right too. With the COVID and stuff, they were even giving good deals. I was very happy with it. We won't be going right now, but if we'd do it, we would go with Sunrise of Palos Park. Their assisted living and memory care were great and really designed for elderly people.

We felt that Sunrise of Palos Park was very cozy. The person who gave the tour was very, very good. We thought it would take care of what my husband needed. They have outside activities because we saw people coming back. They have a fitness room where he could have therapy.

Sunrise of Palos Park was quaint and had a homey feel. It was beautiful and well-decorated. They were very nice people. The person who gave the tour was very informative and very nice. She asked me if I wanted a snack or a drink; they offered something. The building itself was very nice. You can bring pets but they don't have the services for them.

I'm very happy with Sunrise of Palos Park, and my impression of the staff is very positive. The residents play games, they go on outings, they go to stores, to the movies, and they also have indoor house parties and that kind of thing. My father's room is very comfortable and cozy. Their food is very tasty and filling. The community is very welcoming. They're very nice people there.

My mother-in-law really enjoys Sunrise of Palos Park. She loves the meals and she's very happy with the social aspect of it. There are a lot of people that came from her own neighborhood. She just enjoys herself. She likes it. She's in a two-bedroom apartment. She has her own bedroom and she shares her apartment with a roommate. They both have their own bedrooms. They have a shared kitchenette area and a shared bathroom. They have other options, but that's the one that they had opened and that worked well for her. It also saves a little bit of money. They always try to keep them active. They have a theme night once a month where they have a dinner. The day she moved in, they had a big Italian buffet that was all spread out for them. They had entertainment and they played all kinds of songs from their era and there was dancing. They had a great time. She raves about the staff. They're very caring and very nice people.

Sunrise of Palos Park is right by La Grange Road. I would never want a family member to be right near the highway breathing in fumes. Another thing is the place is old. The woodwork is painted, starts peeling, and then is just painted over again. It needs a little scrubbing or another coat of paint. I saw that they had wonderful activities and even an educational building for the residents. They have musicians come in and concerts, which is fantastic. They take people places, they see plays, they take them to the movies, and they have a great list of things to do. I wouldn't choose them because it's that old, but the price is just the same as the other places. Although the people that I met there were super nice. They showed me a bigger room, but it wasn't as nice as the other community that I saw. They will change the carpets and redo the whole place. Their common rooms and sitting areas look fine and comfortable.

I visited this facility looking for a placement for my wife. While a family member knows of people in the assisted living portion, I focused on their Reminiscence (memory care) area. During my visit, there was an emergency drill so I was able to see how the staff takes care of the residents during an emergency. I was impressed. The facility has been in existence for a long period so it has a long tenured staff which is very good for consistency of care as well as established procedures and activity schedules. The facility is clean and well maintained. The pricing was clearly explained. While some might argue that assigning points and therefore price based on eight care needs could leave one open to surprise price increases, I felt comfortable that Sunrise has established maximum costs for the different cares and therefore was comfortable at being to estimate the costs going forward. Sunrise of Palos Park is definitely worth being a short list for consideration.

Sunrise of Palos Park was smaller than some of the other facilities, but it seemed to be well run. It was cozy. It had a lot of amenities. I was happy with the tour. If my in-laws were ever to make a decision to relocate, that would be my first choice. They had social activities. They took trips and got them outside the facility. They had access to go to their doctors and ran errands. The lady that gave me the tour, the person on the front desk, and other people I was introduced to seemed friendly.

Sunrise of Palos Park was very nice. They were full at the time we visited. I liked that you could go from independent living to assisted living to memory care, and it was under one roof. If my father would want to go out -- if he could -- they would take him. My mother was able to check the menu and was very pleased.

Mother is in Sunrise of Palos Park. Based on family and friends, it is a very good location. When I tour the facility, the management team is very cordial and very professional. They have availability, which is one of the challenges. The pricing is competitive to some of the other facilities that I looked at. The facility, I think, is just coming up on 15 years. When I interviewed some of the workers and asked them how long they have been there, most of them have been there 7 to 15 years and that tells me that it is a good place to work. There is a low turnover rate, so there is an appreciation of the employees that work. I see that it is will be to good care. I like the cleanliness of the facility, the amount of activities that they schedule, the communication, how they articulate, and the postings. Everything is going really well. I don't have issues and complaints. I know that Mom fall, and even Mom is amazed how quickly when she presses her button, the team comes up and gets her situated in a matter of probably a minute. Although it is in a very well-travelled road, it is far off the road and has a little green area off the road so you will not hear noisy trucks nor airplanes taking off. There is a wood just to the north, so it is a much calmer environment.

Sunrise of Palos Park just seemed to be the best. It seemed to fit my friend’s needs and it’s fairly close to me; I like to get out there as often as I can. More than anything, it just fit her needs better than anything that I saw. We both went to other facilities and as soon as we saw this one and walked through, it was the one we both decided on. She needed assisted living but is also going into a little dementia, and they have what they call their Reminiscence Area, the area where their dementia patients get a little more extra care than just assisted living. When we saw that, we said, “This is what she needs,” and that actually sold it. On top of that, it's a very nice place. There was another place that we could have gone, but this place just seemed to fit the bill.

I was really upset with Sunrise of Palos. I called them and asked for pricing, and they said it is $98 a day, and they said it included everything. I told them my relative can't do anything and everything has to be done for her. The staff said that it is $98 a day, so we made an appointment with them. Well, if you want a room with no services, no furniture, and no food, it is $98, but everything my relatives needs, it came up to be $6,500 a month. I thought the facility was fantastic, but I just didn’t like their practices of getting you in.

Sunrise was very nice, but I noticed they listed the prices by the week rather than the month unlike the other places that I visited. They didn't show me what I was looking for. They showed me one room that was for two people in a space that I would have for one person. I assumed the one I was looking for were all occupied. Actually, they were fully occupied. However, I thought they had a space that I would want to occupy, and it wasn't just a room. The staff was very nice.

My mom is at Sunrise. I think it is a wonderful place. They are very, very hands on. We like this facility. We like the treatment she is getting over there. Food is very good. We like everything about the place -- the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It is really a nice facility. The staff is very attentive and very helpful.

My second favorite was Sunrise of Palos Park. The dining area was very nice looking, but I did not eat there. The staff was excellent. They were very accommodating, very nice, and very professional. The building was clean, and it was very well-kept.

Mom was in a dementia unit at Sunrise of Palos Park. The food was great and the facility is very clean. My one concern was she wasn't quite as engaged with their activities and there wasn't enough effort to convince her to participate or engage with her.

My aunt was in this facility for 2 years. She received utmost care in the alzheimer's section. Her family was very happy with the staff and care their mother received. It's private pay and on the pricey side but definitely worth it if you can afford it.

Overall, the staff seemed genuinely interested in the welfare of the residents, which is sometimes not very visible. My friend who worked there often told me stories when she was surprised by the willingness of help others would give her if she needed assistance. The facility was very clean and one of the nicest ones I have seen. There was never garbage or miscellaneous items laying around, hallways were kept clear, and residents were able to move around freely (wheelchairs were not restricted in any spaces. They did have to use elevators instead of the stairs). One thing that added a little extra value was the pet therapy program. They had a dog there that was very friendly with the residents and visitors. I have heard that having a pet in the facility can improve morale as residents create relationships with the animals. I also saw them bring a chimpanzee on site. I am not sure if it is normal to have these types of animals in a nursing facility but it was nice to see the happiness that they brought the residents.Overall, I was very impressed with the facility and although I am not sure the cost of living there, I think it would probably be worth the cost.
