"The staff I met at Bickford of Tinley Park was nice and friendly. It's a two-year facility that's well maintained and well laid out. It's only one building with 66 beds and 16 beds of memory care. It has a very nice and friendly kind of a environment. They had a fitness center, a beauty shop, an outside activities director, they do off campus stuff, they had a shuttle, an activities room, and a center courtyard for walking, for barbecues and things like that. They kept the seniors pretty busy for the month."

"I've been here for three years now. We're in individual apartments, the rooms are good-sized. We don't have any staff, there's no recreation or anything like that, it's just a place to live. I can afford it on my social security. It's clean, quiet, it's all seniors 55 and above "

"My mother-in-law moved into Riverside Senior Life Communities. It is a very clean, neat, and attentive assisted living place. They give you exactly what you need. The staff has been wonderful, and she's very happy there. The staff are all friendly and upbeat. They have crafts and exercise classes. I mean, it's just wonderful for her. She has a studio room."

"I toured High Point Residence Kankakee. They only had studios right now. The rooms were small. That's about the only thing. But they did their best. They decorated as far as the hallways and the lighting. It's not as modern as the other place. They're building a new facility in the back parking lot that looks like it's going to be nice. There were big picture windows in all the rooms. The staff members were friendly. They were nice and helpful, and they answered all my questions. It's an old building, but the new building is going to be nice."

"My in-laws are residents of Riverside Senior Life at Bourbonnais. We had some issues with things being promised like changing once they were in there. The staff was much more attentive. It's cleaner. It's a smaller place, and they take more individualized care of them. They have physical therapy there as well. They have a computer thing, although my in-laws are not able to do that, and they have a hair salon there. They have some musical things that my in-laws enjoyed. They took them on a bus and brought them to see a singer, and they enjoyed that. It seems like they have that fairly frequently. My father-in-law chose Riverside Senior Life at Bourbonnais. He liked it the minute he walked in. He liked the atmosphere."

"My family member has lived at Manteno springs assisted liveing fo three years .Manteno Springs is a small facility with big hearts it is a warm, and careing ,family oriented group, of providers that have always gone above and beyond the call of duty for my family .I am thankful. "

"Harvest View Living was a nice place. It had really very spacious rooms, more so than I would have expected. They were large rooms. It has a lot of activities, and they let people from the small town come and participate in the activities that takes place there, so I kind of like that. They want the community to be part of the facility. "

"Luther Place is a small, assisted living facility that is part of Prairieview Lutheran Home. This facility also has a nursing home and Alzheimer's and Dementia unit in a nearby facility for resident's needing more specialized attention and care. Lutheran Home is a clean and very friendly facility that is brightly lit and decorated for a friendly and home-like atmosphere. The staff is also warm and welcoming towards the resident's, and treat them with respect and kindness. They also seem very helpful and willing to listen to resident concerns, as well as willing to answer all of my questions about the facility. As far as activities offered, Luther Place has different activities for the residents and they can also join the nursing home activities and special events when they offer them. They also have a great outside area to sit down and relax in, and a beautiful garden that the residents can help grow vegetables in. Luther Place seems like a facility that would be great for residents that need some assistance with activities of daily living, but who also would like to retain some independence as well. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing an assisted living facility to move into because the facility is rated highly and seems like it is an overall great place to live. "

"Cedarhurst of Frankfort was very well kept up and very well laid out for memory care people. It was like they couldn't get lost going down a hallway. The staff members were very pleasant and clean. We observed them working with the memory care residents, and the residents were interacting very well and were happy. We observed them doing some activities where the residents were engaged. The rooms were nicely laid out. They looked like they'd been kept up, and they were safe. They had emergency buttons in the bathroom and where the bed would go. It was just a tiny bit smaller than what I would have liked."

"My brother moved into Cedar Creek Health Campus. It is a bright and airy environment. The staff is helpful. It is very expensive. The facility is clean and comfortable. He is in a single bedroom."

"We looked all over town to find a place for my aunt. There are a lot of fancier places (for a lot of money), but none were as friendly as Joshua Arms. Right away, we felt the warmth of residents and staff. This place has a very interesting mix of people and there's always something interesting going on. My aunt has lived there nearly a year and has been a new person. She was depressed when her husband died four years ago. Now, it seems she has a new lease on life. I'd recommend this place. "

"Marley Oaks Assisted Living is a very small private facility co-founded by a church group. There are only 12 residents, and it’s like walking into someone’s home. The staff is wonderful, very positive, and treat my dad like family. We’re very satisfied, and that’s why we’re back there. "

"We visited Smith Crossing and my cousin liked it because there was an underground parking. It was a newer facility and the room had more space. You could put a table and chair near the kitchen area. It gave you a separate dining section. They had a two-bedroom unit that he also liked. "

They have been such a great help with gathering all the information that was needed to provide my mother the best care that she could possibly get. They give the seniors the quality of life and independence, as well as assistance that they need. It's beautiful, very clean, and not institutional smelling. It's bright and sunny. It's a peaceful, serene environment with great food. Everybody has been so welcoming, so informative, and so helpful. They have really gone above and beyond to make my mother's stay there very comfortable and assuring us that she will be taken care of as needed."
