"I liked Jennings Terrace. I liked how friendly everyone was. They answered a lot of questions. They were very thorough with their information. They were very kind. They give everybody their own space. They give everybody space to eat and a space to exercise and keep their skills up-to-date. It was clean. It looked good. There was an exercise area to keep their mobility. There was a courtyard."

"I toured Marian Village. They were a little less expensive, but the place itself just seemed so vibrant, alive, energetic, and bright. The place seemed very new and very updated. When you walked in, you were welcomed by the person at the front desk. The price, I think we could handle. The tough part is they require an entrance fee of $90,000. I have noticed reviews that are not too high, but when I did the tour, they had like a little bistro, and some residents were having omelets and things like that, and the food smelled amazing. They have a lot of events. They had a nice exercise room. They had laundry on each floor and seemed to have more dining areas. They give 400 points per month, and each point is equal to a dollar. You can use those points in the cafeteria or the dining area, and they don't carry over to the next month. They kind of give you an allotment, and then if you go over that, you start to pay. Mary Beth gave me the tour. She knew all the residents. She's very good and very thorough. Everything was so clean. There wasn't a spot on the carpeting. There wasn't a whole lot of carpeting. There was more of the vinyl plank flooring type of things. The dining room was set for dinner, and they had cloth napkins, glasses, and silverware. Everything seemed to be clean. Throughout the whole tour inside the rooms, in the laundry rooms, or the dining area, there was no stale odor or anything like that as you toured it. It was very clean, not like bleach clean or anything like that. It was just a fresh, clean environment."

"My grandma spent her last days here. Everyone at Regency was attentive, kind and so helpful with my 95yo grandma. She was legally blind and didn’t hear the best, and all the staff spoke to her and would explain exactly what they were doing. They took amazing care of her until her last day. Thank you Regency staff for doing God’s work!"

"My husband stayed in Arcadia Care Morris. He was there from the 10th to the 30th. For the first 10 days, our insurance was covered. For the next 10, I had to write two appeals. They were going to charge me $400 a room for him to stay on the therapy side, and then it was like $300 to be in the nursing home side. The nursing home side was dirty. It smelled. I couldn't wait to get him out of there. It was awful. One side is rehab, which was fine, clean, and nice because the people were just there for therapy. The nursing home side is in the same building, but it was unacceptable. I do think that their meals were pretty good. They pretty much kept track because he was diabetic. Their kitchen did a good job in selecting food and changing out things for my husband, so that was good. If you took him out in the wheelchair, there were just some sidewalks. There was a patio with grass as high as your hips. I didn't see anybody take advantage of that other than a couple of workers who would go out there and smoke, but other than that, there was no patio where the people could go out and sit and enjoy. It had a fence around it where the people would be safe, but nobody cut the grass, pulled the weeds, or did anything with it. There was no shade in the front. The building itself looked fine. The building from the outside was brick, and it looked really nice, but once you went inside, the housekeeping, I would give them a one at best. The floors were not even clean, but I did notice their housekeeping was like a couple of young girls. They've got to have somebody a little bit older. They could have wiped the floors up nicely. He didn't participate, but I'm sure they did have things because they had Elvis one afternoon. So, in that department, they did pretty well. Their therapists, both were wonderful, but they were leaving the same week. So, both therapists were going somewhere else. Arcadia is awful. I didn't choose it. It was kind of chosen by the hospital."

"Was in rehab there for three months. Suzanne D. is a great administrator. Had some great nurses and CNA’s but of course some not so great. Having been a patient in two other nursing homes, I was surprised that the rooms weren’t private. Overall a nice facility. Think pay scale could be better and pay could be based on their production. "Rooms were very nice, I believe at certain times they were understaffed, but at other times they had plenty of people stopping in my room asking if I needed fresh water or something else. I was totally stressed out about being there and probably wasn't easy to get along with at times. Food was pretty good but I am on a low carb high protein diet so I did cheat on my diet..physical therapy was EXCELLENT and I looked forward to it every day!!"

"I visited and noted that the facility seemed understaffed and I found it difficult to get assistance and help. One young lady was particularly rude. Perhaps they were understaffed but she seemed stressed out and angry. Not a good place for her to work."

"The care here is excellent. Have had more than one stay this year after surgeries to my leg. The staff is great and caring. Therapists are good at what they do and the reason I'm walking though with a walker. Food is pretty good to. Rooms are comfortable and kept clean."

"My husband is at The Parc at Joliet. They are in the middle of renovating, and I believe it was an old school, and they have modernized it and they're upgrading a lot of the areas. The insides are getting remodeled and they're watching the patients so that they don't get into any areas where they are doing the renovations. The staff so far has been relatively good as far as I'm concerned. I'm able to get answers when I call and their wound care is especially good. I am very impressed with them. I'm happy with the service. Their pricing is reasonable. They offer several different activities. I don't know of any nursing home anywhere where anybody has said the food is fabulous. He doesn't complain constantly about the food, but he has made comments that the food could be better. There are certain little inconveniences for the visitors, like sometimes there's difficulty getting parking because of the construction."

"I cannot express enough how wonderful The Pearl of Joliet has been for our family. From the moment we arrived, the care and compassion shown by the entire staff were truly remarkable. The facility is clean, welcoming, and feels like a home away from home. A special thanks to Mykael and Kristal, who went above and beyond in their roles. Mykael's attention to detail and genuine care made us feel supported and understood during a very challenging time. Kristal's warmth and dedication brought a sense of comfort and peace that was invaluable. Their professionalism and kindness have made a lasting impact on us. The Pearl of Joliet is a beacon of hope and care in the community. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional service and support provided. Thank you, Mykael, Kristal, and the entire team, for making a difficult journey a bit easier with your compassion and excellence."

"My husband has been in River Crossing of Joliet. He is living there mostly for dementia. They take care of them. They notify me all the time with any problems. The staff is very friendly. He has a great roommate. They treat him nice. I would recommend the home. His room is almost like a hospital setting. They have some private rooms, but he's in a shared room. They have certain days they pick out to have carnival days, fun days, and they always have activities going on. They played bingo. He's busy there, and he doesn't just sit in all day. The staff is terrific. The food is great. It is good that they are in the process of remodeling with new flooring, wallpaper on walls, and paint, so they're slowly upgrading."

"An older nursing home but kept clean and bright. The care you receive here is awesome!! Hands and heads above ALL the rest of the nursing homes in Illinois!! My mother and my grandmother and a dear friend all stayed here, one very long term(years) and they all were thrilled with the care they received!! Two of them were hard to please people and they had not one complaint with OLA. They have a small bus for places, they have a big chapel where they have church/mass and just caring and responsible employees!! Very well run and no one ran out of anything because they are not foreign owned and the owners care for their employees and residents. If I or anyone I know needs a NH...I would totally recommend OLA!!!"

"My Mom has been a resident at Sunny Hill for the past 4 years and in my opinion they do an outstanding job of caring for their residents in a clean and vibrant facility. Having recently completed a total remodel, the facility is clean, bright and sunny from the moment you walk through the front door. The activities are excellent and appropriate to all interests. The staff is friendly and caring. The administration is top notch ensuring the safety and security of the residents in this Resident Centered facility. "

"Hillside didn't want to take my husband because he was agitated. However, he did stay there for one day. It was short-term. I didn't like it though. My husband wasn't happy either. He wanted to go outside and look for me. When I came back to pick him up, I saw the room was dirty. They need to make the place cleaner. "

"Lakewood Nrsg and Rehab Center was excellent. They have good staffing. They kept my mom clean and they kept her fed as much as they could. The atmosphere was very good. Its location was in good spot too. It was 25 minutes from where I lived. My mom shared a room with a roommate. They kept her room clean. She went to watch a couple of movies, but she wasn't very active at that point. They have movies and bingo. The staff members were awesome."

"My mom will move to The Pearl at The Tillers, a skilled nursing facility in Oswego. I have visited the place. They have rehab and they also only allow 24 long-term patients. The nursing staff is full during the day and there are two nurses at night so that's one per 12 patients. Compared to other skilled nursing facilities, this was the best fit for my mom because she's going to get more help compared to being in one where there's one nurse for every 30 people. The staff is very welcoming and it's a very nice facility. When you first walk in, there are tables, chairs, and couches with electric fireplaces. They even have a Starbucks there. They have a nice daily menu. Any day my mom can get a cheeseburger, a hot dog, or a slice of pizza. There's a list of 5 or 6 things my mom can get every day if she doesn't want what's on the menu they cook daily. They have different things every day."
