"My mom was there for a year. She had great care and the staff was wonderful. The facility was always very clean. "

"My wife moved into The Reserve at Oswego. I liked that it was small enough that she could probably get to know almost everybody there. So, I thought that was good. It's not a huge facility, and it is only memory care, which I thought I'd find a plus because they're dealing with those kinds of people, and they know how to take care of them, and that's what they're there for. Her room is nice. It's small, but it's got a bed, her chair, and a bathroom, and everything she needs is right there. The facility is immaculate. The staff is very caring and helpful, and always ready to answer questions, and very helpful. It's a well-run facility. They seem to be on top of everything. I'm very pleased with the way they are treating my wife and all the people there. They have a good mix of different things for different people, whatever their interests might be. They're trying to keep those people motivated, interested, and entertained."

"Sunnymere was clean. People were friendly. The rooms looked nice enough. It's not a five-star resort, but it looks very comfortable. The meals looked like they were good and they had a lot of activities. It looked like a place that my dad could maybe fit in and make some new friends. It's an older place. There might be some people who would say that it's not fancy enough or whatever, but it's homey looking. Everybody was friendly. I think it was Judy that was showing me around. Seemed like she knew what was going on. They went out of their way to make sure that they could give me a room that I felt my dad could be happy with. The grounds are beautiful. They have a new community room for activities and things, and that was really nice. Affordability was definitely the main concern for me, and I don't feel like I would be cutting corners putting my dad there just because it was the most affordable."

"My sister in law has been a resident since 2015. At first she was hesitant about moving there. She meet with staff and one of the lovely residents and has happily been living there since. She has found a second home where she has been enjoying life. The staff are all like family to her and us. She receives the best of care , great meals ,entertainment and great friendships among the other residents. My wife and I are more than happy to have found a great place like Jennings."

"I toured Bickford of Aurora. It seems warm and inviting. It's very clean. The staff was friendly. I know this is an odd thing to say, but it smelled clean, which can be an issue based on my experience with other places in the past. The food smelled very good, and the menu was acceptable. The staff was very nice, and I liked her a lot."

"I toured Marian Village. They were a little less expensive, but the place itself just seemed so vibrant, alive, energetic, and bright. The place seemed very new and very updated. When you walked in, you were welcomed by the person at the front desk. The price, I think we could handle. The tough part is they require an entrance fee of $90,000. I have noticed reviews that are not too high, but when I did the tour, they had like a little bistro, and some residents were having omelets and things like that, and the food smelled amazing. They have a lot of events. They had a nice exercise room. They had laundry on each floor and seemed to have more dining areas. They give 400 points per month, and each point is equal to a dollar. You can use those points in the cafeteria or the dining area, and they don't carry over to the next month. They kind of give you an allotment, and then if you go over that, you start to pay. Mary Beth gave me the tour. She knew all the residents. She's very good and very thorough. Everything was so clean. There wasn't a spot on the carpeting. There wasn't a whole lot of carpeting. There was more of the vinyl plank flooring type of things. The dining room was set for dinner, and they had cloth napkins, glasses, and silverware. Everything seemed to be clean. Throughout the whole tour inside the rooms, in the laundry rooms, or the dining area, there was no stale odor or anything like that as you toured it. It was very clean, not like bleach clean or anything like that. It was just a fresh, clean environment."

"We visited Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The community is excellent. I like everything about it, but the price. The room was very nice. It had a TV, refrigerator, and a microwave. The person who gave the tour was excellent. The dining area was very nice, but I didn't taste the food. The upkeep and maintenance were also excellent."

"My grandma spent her last days here. Everyone at Regency was attentive, kind and so helpful with my 95yo grandma. She was legally blind and didn’t hear the best, and all the staff spoke to her and would explain exactly what they were doing. They took amazing care of her until her last day. Thank you Regency staff for doing God’s work!"

"Was in rehab there for three months. Suzanne D. is a great administrator. Had some great nurses and CNA’s but of course some not so great. Having been a patient in two other nursing homes, I was surprised that the rooms weren’t private. Overall a nice facility. Think pay scale could be better and pay could be based on their production. They have been such a great help with gathering all the information that was needed to provide my mother the best care that she could possibly get. They give the seniors the quality of life and independence, as well as assistance that they need. It's beautiful, very clean, and not institutional smelling. It's bright and sunny. It's a peaceful, serene environment with great food. Everybody has been so welcoming, so informative, and so helpful. They have really gone above and beyond to make my mother's stay there very comfortable and assuring us that she will be taken care of as needed."
