My husband is at The Parc at Joliet. They are in the middle of renovating, and I believe it was an old school, and they have modernized it and they're upgrading a lot of the areas. The insides are getting remodeled and they're watching the patients so that they don't get into any areas where they are doing the renovations. The staff so far has been relatively good as far as I'm concerned. I'm able to get answers when I call and their wound care is especially good. I am very impressed with them. I'm happy with the service. Their pricing is reasonable. They offer several different activities. I don't know of any nursing home anywhere where anybody has said the food is fabulous. He doesn't complain constantly about the food, but he has made comments that the food could be better. There are certain little inconveniences for the visitors, like sometimes there's difficulty getting parking because of the construction.

Unfortunately this is not a place for yourself or your loved one. Patients are neglected. Patients are put into wheelchairs in the morning and sat in a common room . I'm talking about patients who cannot move themselves while they are in the chair . There are no call lights or emergency buzzers for these people to use . that are not able to move themselves There's no call light and there is almost always no supervision. Often you will see puddles of urine beneath them as their diapers have been so full that now the urine falls to the floor. Surprising when very seldom you'll see anyone there with even a glass of water in front of them. As bad as this sounds, Tiffany the current administrator is worse than incompetent. I went to her as a family member hoping to find a solution to a problem and she tried to intimidate me and she called me a liar.

My sister has moved into The PARC at Joliet. We chose it because it was a short drive from where I live, so I'm able to go there frequently. She has a private room, which she requested. It's a larger sized room than any of the other places that I've seen and it was recently remodeled. The staff that I have interacted with have been quite helpful. The least thing I like is the quality of the food. I've tried the food that she's had, and it was not very good. They have a dining room. They have a small library and games, but nothing that is with anybody conducting anything like bingo or anything like that. They offer nothing much. They have a therapy room and outside patios, but they're not going to be able to access that for a while. There is a hair salon. It's less expensive than the previous place that she was at. The hospital is almost across the street. There are restaurants within five minutes away. They need to improve their food. They don't have menu selections. They bring what the item is for the day.

I have been in The Parc at Joliet for two and a half months now. The community is OK. Everybody speaks to each other, there are activities and you get to go outside. I'm here for rehab. The food's OK. The staff, the nurses, CNAs, you know, they're very good. The activities people are very good. I have very little good to say about the office, the administrator, he's something else. They set up a meeting with me and the people from the office about keeping my thirty dollars. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about the place. Everything's good, but they seem to have a problem with keeping help. They keep everything clean and tidy. They could use maintenance on the tables and chairs. The chairs and tables are falling apart or they're missing parts. But as far as keeping everything clean and tidy, the cleaning people also do a good job of that. They got a director for activities, and I believe four girls, three or four girls, that go around. Everyday there's a different activity for the residents that would like to participate. They have bingo, card games, we go out for a walk, listen to music, and karaoke.
