"Victorian Village is a very nice place. The staff is friendly. They're open and upfront and very helpful in the decision process. It's a nice, well-maintained facility that has a full set of amenities. The staff seems to be working well with each other. The place is clean, well maintained, and in a good neighborhood. We overall had a very good experience with them. It's in a very nice location, which is in the nice suburb of Chicago, close to two hospitals and the expressway. It's an 18-acre facility and the grounds are well maintained with parking for visitors. I didn't see any issues in the four units that I visited, in the hallways, in the public spaces, and in the dining room. It looks very good."

"My wife is now in the Franciscan Village. We chose this place because it's run by a Catholic order of nuns. They have a beautiful chapel inside the building, they have a priest 24-7, and they have deacons that come and give communion. So that was a big part of our decision. They have a game room and every day they offer people to come and do crosswords, bingo, and art projects. They do stuff typical to most nursing homes, especially at the rehab or memory care level. The nurses are great though they're always short of aides, I found that to be the same in many places. The food is tolerable, it's acceptable. Sometimes it's good but sometimes I'd go out to get my wife a cheeseburger, sometimes their food comes in cold. The bathroom is tiny but everything else is pretty good. I'm paying $10,400 a month basic plus laundry service, plus incontinence supplies. I think it's very, very expensive for these things but all nursing homes are way too expensive."

"My husband and I have lived at Monarch Landing for 3½ years and are very, very happy that we moved here. Yes, it has many amenities, a large selection of apartments that you can personalize, a friendly staff, and loads of things to do (active and not-so-active). So, what makes us different from other independent living communities in the area? Super-friendly residents. We have made many more friends here in over 3 years than we have in 40+ years living in Naperville. Join a club, committee or simply have dinner with someone, and you’ll have a friend. Walk down the hallway and everyone says, “Good morning” or “Hi! How are you?” Many say that they chose to live at Monarch Landing after looking at other facilities simply because this was the place with the friendliest residents. Don't wait to move here until you “need” the advantages of living here. If you do, you’ll miss out on so much. I am convinced that living here with all our friends will extend our lifespans."

"My mom moved into Covenant Living at the Holmstad. We chose it because of the location and quality of care. It seemed like my mom could graduate from independent living through some of the other steps if needed. They have very nice swimming facilities. They have all kinds of activities, a gym, and a pool. Everything seemed to be very well maintained and staffed. The staff members seemed to all be very nice. The food is good."

"My mother is in Concord Place right now. Considering what she can afford, I think this facility is comparable. She's comfortable, the food is good, and they have a lot of activities. They also have doctors there, a theater, beauty shop, church, and they have bus for transportation. It's a combination of independent living, assisted living and supportive living. My mother is in the assisted living. "

"My mom is in Smith Crossing for rehab. So far, they've been good. When I visited, the room was clean, the room was nice, and the staff was nice and very good. She asked for a pain pill and it was one o'clock when she asked, and they said, we'll give you one at three o'clock and they did come in and give her one at three o'clock. She said she liked the food, that's good because she's a very picky eater. They were knowledgeable, any question I had, they would answer it. When she asked for a pain pill, she didn't ask her nurse, she asked somebody else, and they got her nurse in there within like three minutes to tell her that she couldn't have one until three o'clock. So they were really on top with things."
