"It is a faith-based community -- which is important to us -- and they're taking very good care of my husband. It's run by the Franciscan communities. They have a mass there everyday which he really likes. They have several buildings; it's on 17 acres, and it's a big place, but I'm only familiar with the memory care place. The staff was very friendly and very outgoing, and they really do a fine job as far as I'm concerned. The meals are good. He has a very nice room, and he can have his own furniture in his room. They have a lot of outings that they take him to with the other residents. We've been very pleased with Addolorata Villa. "

"Overall, a very well organized and up-kept facility. My friends aunt was living there for a few years and she seemed happy with the environment and the staff that was assisting her. The only bone I would have to pick here is the actual age of the staff. It seemed the whole place was being run by teenagers. Packs of them congregated and socialized for an extended period of time that ultimately led to a loss of productivity. There were no adults in sight and it was tough to tell the nurses and CNA's apart. The food was actually quite good and always brought in on time. As far as I know , the medicine was properly distributed and theft was quite rare, which is unheard of in Nursing Homes. Overall, it seems like a great nursing home for seniors. "

"My father was at Radford Green. I thought it was very good. We did not have any complaints. I thought the level of care was good. He was always well taken care of. He was fed, dressed, and cleaned well. He was only there for seven days. They had very nice, beautiful, well-appointed rooms. The food was very good. There were lots of things on the menu, and you could even eat in your room or the dining room. The kitchen had 24-hour availability, so family members could just walk to the kitchen area and get any snacks, cold drinks, or anything else for their loved ones. My father did some therapy, walking, and exercises. "

"I think Mayfield Care Center is wonderful. My mother is not experiencing being lonely. I go there at least once every other day, and she's safe. She has a room, a bed, a cabinet where she put her clothes in, and a sink. The only thing they don't have is private bathrooms. She shares a bathroom with one person. It's like in a hotel where there's a door between you and the other hotel room. They have an activity room, and there were two ladies that came to visit and they were reading and discussing scenarios and stuff like that. There are different activities. I'm just as motivated by all the other people there. We played cards there one day. There were different people saying hello, so my mother is not lonely. The staff members are friendly and attentive, and they know her. She is doing fine there. I like the interaction. They love her, and she loves them. Pricing is reasonable. It's a perfect match for my mom."

"This is really not some place I would recommend unless the person was destitute. The facility is on Cermak Avenue in Cicero and when I was there there were several residents who seemed like they were "hanging" out in front. One man asked me if I were an inspector when I came to the entrance because I was wearing a dress. That was a kind of foreshadowing of things to come. The building itself seems like a psychiatric institution where poor people go to stay. Out of place was the woman behind the desk who had a friendly professional and helpful manner. The lobby consisted of a couple of chairs, not much else. There was also a vending machine room for patients. The furniture was sparse, not that clean and uninviting. Making my way upstairs in the elevators was none too pleasant. The elevators were slow and crowded. Residents were getting on and off in a variety of conditions. Getting on the elevators there were many bad smells from patients with poor hygiene. On the floors, the activity rooms were ugly with mismatched furniture and was dirty. Overall the staff were helpful, professional and kind trying to make the best out of a bad situation. "

"While a lot of hospitals have done away with skilled care units on site, Rush Oak Park has maintained theirs. This is a unit licensed as skilled nuring beds, just like a nursing home, but within the hospital. This offers a nice alternative typically for elderly people who need sub-acute level rehab and therapy that allows them to potentially avoid having to go to a nursing home to receive it. Therapy services here are less intense than one is required to participate in when in the acute level rehab program, which is also available at the hospital. Rush Oak Park Hospital is on the western edge of Oak Park, readily accessible by public transit and close to the expressway. The skilled care unit is on the fifth floor and residents do not typically venture off the unit during their stay. The unit offers a large dining room and has a nicely appointed therapy area, but no real common areas for visiting. "My sister was transferred from her Sandburg Terrace. condo to Central Nursing Home because she could no longer care for herself, despite 5 day/week in-home personal care due to the progressive effects of "chemo brain" on her function. No one wants to leave their home but she has been very comfortable there. I visited frequently and, although it is not luxurious, I always found the facility to be clean, my sister's room clean and tidy and her bed comfortable. The "hands-on" Administrative Director works closely with his staff as they give gentle, kind care to the residents and their families. My sister has gained weight and is now strong enough to get out of her bed by herself to use her walker or wheel chair. She is always clean and neat when I visit and repeatedly says she is comfortable."

"I was on a hunt for a good assisted living facility for a friend. So I decided to check this place out. My first impression of this place was not good. The vibe of the facility was negative. It was an older facility, not clean at all. As I was receiving my tour, I quickly glanced in the rooms and noticed uncleaned food trays laying around. I wonder if it's like that all the time. In any case, there is no reason for a home to not be clean and sanitary at all times. I cut my tour short and never looked back. "

"A few months back, I heard a friend who I had met many years ago was residing at Park House. So I decided to pay her a visit. The facility was smaller than I expected and in comparison to other homes, definitely smaller than the homes that I had visited in the past. It was surely a more intimate environment with a smaller staff and less residents. The place was pretty clean, cozy and the staff seemed friendly. I was only there for about thirty minutes and I noticed that the staff came in twice to check up on my friend. That's pretty good considering how some facilities rarely check up on their residents. I had a pretty good experience and I plan to visit my friend soon. "

"Schwab Rehabilitation Ctr Snu was an excellent facility. They took care of me and they gave me outstanding rehab. It was a very clean place. Housekeeping came in twice a day. They got white floors and I never saw a mark on the floor. Housekeeping was busy all the time and they kept the windows clean. The supervisors were always on the inspection. Whenever I go to rehab, they check if everything is clean before they start doing anything to me. The CNAs were also very good. The staff was very attentive. They asked what I needed, and they talked to me. If something wasn't right, they tried to correct it right away. They tried to be there in less than 5 minutes when I called them. They came in and checked on me every hour. In the 7 weeks that I was there, I think I got 6 months' worth of rehab."

"My mother in law was in Alden’s for about 8months,the worst part of Alden was the smell sometimes it could smell really bad, and sometimes it smelled very pleasant I guess it depended on who worked that day. but for the most part it was a great experience, I loved the nurses assistants,Kim,Keyana,and Thurman,just to name a few,there was a few more but I didn’t get there names. I really appreciated all that they did.Thank you soooo much,you are great at what you do. I miss you guys,stay encouraged,and stay the great care givers that you are.your greatness is not unappreciated.you all are the best.oh I forgot to mention that Alden floors is the cleanest floors I have seen.keep up the good work."
