"The admissions staff of a facility can make a great difference in choosing a skilled nursing facility. Radford Green’s admissions representative Bea played an important part in our family’s deciding on Radford Green at Sedgebrook for my wife’s post-hospital skilled nursing rehab. Bea was knowledgeable, upbeat, answered our many questions, and gave a comprehensive tour, including introducing us to the director of nursing. She gave us a comfort level that we did not feel elsewhere. The hallway lighting throughout the facility was bright during the day, adding to the upbeat feeling in the facility. An added plus is that all the patient rooms are one-person rooms. My wife received overall good care from all the nurses on 3-East. Upon admission we were first welcomed and oriented by nurse Marina. Marina has an outgoing personality, is very competent, and we always looked forward to her afternoon/evening shifts. The morning shift nurse Ann is also very knowledgeable and competent, with a serious, no-nonsense approach. The CNAs were generally helpful, our favorite being Yadi who often went above and beyond to help my wife. The front desk at Radford Green’s entrance was manned during the day by Natalie. I appreciated that she made me feel welcome when I came in every day to visit my wife, with a “Hi, how are you?” greeting. She is knowledgeable about the facility, helpful, and is a great asset to the facility. No nursing home is perfect. While, overall, Radford Green was excellent, there were times when responses to the call button were slow. And there was an entry-level non-medical staff person who, at this stage of career, seemed to lack some basic job-relevant knowledge and who could probably benefit from some coaching on customer-service skills and follow-up. Nevertheless, we would strongly lean toward returning to Radford Green should it become necessary again in the future."
