"My mom is in Winchester House right now. The room is adequate. I have no problem with the staff. They are accommodating. However, she is not satisfied with the food. I tasted it, and it is bland. They have activities like bingo, birthday parties, and physical therapy. "

"My mother-in-law is in Libertyville Manor, and it is really nice. It is really clean, and the staff is really nice; she has been in there for several years, and she really likes it. The food is good and she loves it there. The staff people are really great. "

"My boyfriend stayed in The Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Libertyville for rehab. He left there on the 4th of July. They told him that he had to leave, and then I got a letter in the mail. We got notified on the 3rd of July that he had to leave by noon on the 4th of July. I was very, very upset because I worked in a big grocery store, and I was there all day, time and a half, plus holiday pay, and if I hadn't worked, I would have lost over $300, and to me, that's a lot of money. They ended up having to transfer all by himself, scared because they had to pack up all his stuff. He was worried about his phone charger and worried about his pictures. If it had been a family member, it would have been a lot easier, but he wasn't because he was upset. So, that's a bad thing about The Encompass. They did not accommodate at all, on a holiday weekend. It was on a Friday. They could have let him stay till Monday. Then, I got a letter from Medicare saying he was authorized for another three days, and Medicare would have covered that, but they made him leave. Their therapy was excellent. That's the reason why I chose that place, and they had the structure there. They did the therapy, and they worked with them. He was getting stronger on the last day that he was there. He ended up walking with a walker halfway around the gym, which was a big improvement compared to after he got out of the hospital for 19 days. There was a big improvement, and you could tell, but then they said he had to leave, so I had to find another place. They accommodated him a lot with the food that he could eat, and he ate pretty well there. It was very clean. All the people were very nice. The facility was very good. The staff, like the social worker, were not helpful to me. They weren't accommodating."

"My mother moved from assisted living to Thrive. The facility is welcoming as it is clean and very bright with all of the windows. I have found all staff members to be skilled and friendly. Mom will be at Thrive for the remainder of her life. Initially, she was in short-term until a bed was available. She then we briefly in memory care, and now is in regular long-term care. When I wheel Mom around the facility, the short-term staff members still greet her by name and ask how she is doing - they CARE!!! In the initial days in each area, I had some concerns which I shared them with staff members and all concerns were addressed almost immediately. Mom is legally blind, extremely hard of hearing, and can't walk. She needs lots of assistance. Yes, as is common in other senior living, nursing homes, and health facilities, they are short-staffed. That said, when the alert button is pushed, someone - even a member of cleaning staff - will stop by to learn of the concern and reach the right team member to help. Mom and I are very pleased with Thrive."

For my entire stay, each and every worker from this Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation Center gave me the tools , consultation and coaching I needed. As a patient with Multiple Sclerosis, the PT/OT classes given daily helped me to feel immediate improvements. They also tailored some of the exercises for home use (without having to buy a lot of equipment. They gave me a therapy ban, special pens for easier writing and exercises with already at home access ( Leg lifts and bicycyling from a chair). They went over and above for everyone. We we each given nutrition based on our condition. I was told that balancing my lifestyle and choices to create a balance was great advice. This place was truly exceptional! "

"My father will be moving to Lake Forest Place in the next week or so. It is our choice because my father has some friends over there and the facilities are nice. The amenities are quite extensive. The staff is very friendly and involved in the resident's care and comfort. The quality of the apartment and the decor stands out to me. It is a one-bedroom but very spacious. The food is excellent. I recommend it to others. "

"My mother is now at Warren Barr Lincolnshire. The experience is good so far. The nursing and CNA staff are very attentive to her. The facilities are nice. It's a welcoming entrance. There are two wings off of a nurse's station with 11 patients in each wing. It's broken up into small areas. There aren't any long hallways, they're all short hallways, which gives it a homey feeling. The food is pretty good for that kind of place. Activities are minimal because most of the residents are not too active. They have single and shared rooms. For activities, they have bingo, a pianist, and weekly movies with popcorn. They have a chair exercise class. The rehab facility is nice, and the therapists are good. After my mother stopped the physical rehab, they have a continuing occupational therapist who visits five times a week for very short sessions (10 or 15 minutes at a time), which is to maintain range of motion and so forth. They have more than one small courtyard. From each little part of the rooms, they have an exit that leads out into a small courtyard with some seating available. "

Every morning, the Activities staff delivered a list of the day's events. There was always something to do. The nurses, CNAs, and therapists couldn't have been nicer. They were extremely professional, caring, friendly and responsive. The care was top-notch. Thanks to their outstanding care, I was able to go home after a month. A few years ago, I was a patient in another facility and my family members have been in similar facilities. Alden tops them all!"
