The caregivers, nursing staff and administration is very caring and considerate of our loved ones while at Claridge. I felt good about my mother's care there and they were very aware of her health. She had a small infection and fever and they were right on top of it and dealt with it. She was happy there and kept clean and healthy. Would recommend this residence. It does look like it needs updating and decorating but to me her care was more important.

Claridge Nursing home is the worse place on the planet The first night he arrived we were told that he was unable to get out of bed because they wouldn't give him a walker. The reason was that he had to wait 24 hours to be accessed to find out if he needed one. We knew he needed one because he had just spent 5 weeks in the hospital learning to use one and was very capable, The first night he got up and began wandering the halls without a walker. He was and still is very confused and forgetful and wouldn't stay in bed, So he wandered the unfamiliar halls looking for a bathroom. Lining the narrow halls are chairs, people in wheel chairs and people milling about so there are many things to trip over, The staff are rude and incompetent and ignore the patients,especially the ones that are bedridden, The room was filthy. I've waited to write this review because I wanted to give the owner an opportunity to remedy the situation before I went ahead and wrote a less than favorable review. And I've done this on more than one, two, or even three occasions. I'm constantly letting her know regarding the situation at her business. she's very diplomatic. she tells me she will look into it and that we'll work together to rectify the situation. However, this hasn't been the case time after time again. I've given up. I go everyday to make sure that my father are as well cared for as they can be. I will do some of the cleaning which should be done on a daily basis -- washing mugs for instance. They are not part of a multiple nursing home ownership and are a For Profit nursing home. Claridge Healthcare Center has a below average registered nurse per resident per day of 29 minutes compared to the Illinois state nursing home average of 53 minutes. They had 30 deficiencies in its past 2 state inspections compared to the IL average of 11 and complaints compared to the IL average of 3. Claridge Healthcare Center had 19 fire safety deficiencies in the past 2 state inspections which is worse than the Illinois state nursing home average of 12.

As a recent past resident of Claridge, I can only say wonderful things. From the moment I arrived, I was treated like gold. For my entire stay, each and every worker from this Skilled Nursing/ Rehabilitation Center gave me the tools , consultation and coaching I needed. As a patient with Multiple Sclerosis, the PT/OT classes given daily helped me to feel immediate improvements. They also tailored some of the exercises for home use (without having to buy a lot of equipment. They gave me a therapy ban, special pens for easier writing and exercises with already at home access ( Leg lifts and bicycyling from a chair). They went over and above for everyone. We we each given nutrition based on our condition. I was told that balancing my lifestyle and choices to create a balance was great advice. This place was truly exceptional!

This is a unique facility that provides short term rehab and long term care and boasts a population of more than 50% culturally Korean residents. The ownership and management is culturally Korean. This represents a change from prior ownership when the facility had a different name. The setting is unique in that it is set in the midst of a very wooded area, which provides a somewhat serene setting. There is some pleasant designated space outdoors to accommodate residents and families who wish to soak in mother nature and relax outdoors. Inside, the common areas are not expansive but are adequate. The furnishing and décor have not been recently upgraded to any great extent and tend to appear worn. The rooms are of average size and most are shared. Some rooms can appear dark depending on where they are situated in the building. Reportedly there are a number of married Korean couples who reside together. Korean food and Korean cultural activities are provided for the Korean residents. The food appears to be good to above average. For Korean families seeking a culturally correct experience for their senior relatives, this has got to be a fantastic find that would warrant further exploration. Interestingly, the facility occupancy rate has been quite low over recent years, and one entire floor has no residents on it at all.
