"Brookside Nursing Home: My grandmother was admitted to Brookside Nursing home in Kenosha after suffering a severe stroke. She has been in this facility since 2009. They have been very good to work with and deal with in this situation. All of the staff has been very welcoming and nice to my family as well as my grandmother. The surroundings of Brookside are nice, with lots of tree's and flowers. There are a few different wings of the facility, each specializing in different disabilities. The rooms are nice and a decent size for a nursing home facility. The meals are varied and are of decent quality. They have a lot of good group activities for the residents to participate in. There is always a group of people watching tv or partaking in a group activity. Brookside also has various outside activities for the residents to participate in. There are frequent trips to the casino as well as other outings. "

"Lovely place. Since the new management took over things have gotten a lot better. The therapy is amazing. food is decent. The place looks very nice as well and they gave me a private room in the short term wing. "

"Waters Edge Rehab and Care Center is quite a large place and they offer full range of care in PT, OT, podiatry, dentistry, psychology, and eye care. They are going to be under new management and they will be updating some things in their place. It was an older place, but their food is good and they're very helpful and nice to their patients."

"Clairidge House is an older nursing home and my father-in-law is there. The rehab is really good and that's what he needs right now so he's going to be in there for about five or six weeks. The rooms are not very big. "

"Dad went in for rehab and they did such a great job for him. He gained weight while there because he loved the food so much !"

"I have been to Willowcrest several times to visit a family friend. She has always appeared to be well cared for and in good spirits. Her room and the common areas that I have seen have always been very clean and in good repair. The staff members that I have interacted with seem very friendly and helpful.The residents seem to get along well and really enjoy each others company. I often see people there playing games together and enjoying themselves. Although I have not eaten there myself, I have been told that the food is quite good and that the residents have several meal choices to choose from. They also will sometimes offer outings and day trips available to the residents whose health will allow them to take part in such things. Overall Willowcrest appears to be a rather nice facility. If and or when the time comes, it would be a place I would feel comfortable placing a family member. "

"We did get a tour of Franciscan Villa and it was very nice. It's a skilled nursing facility. The price of this one is about the same as where he is right now, maybe $1,000 to $1,500 less. When you look at the place from the outside, it doesn't look that big, but it's huge. The staff were pretty nice. It is very clean, and the rooms are very nice. The only thing that I really needed was a TV in the room, and I'm having problems with that. Mostly, they want people to try to get out and talk to other people. So, I'm thinking that they want to have a TV and an activity room, or some other room so people can mingle. But some people, including my husband, are not people persons. If you look in the brochure, it tells you that you can have cable set up. It was really nice. The people that were in rehab where they helped the people get their life back together to where they can go home, they have a lift chair in every room. I think that's really good. They gave me a list of what the alternative food would be. If they were having meatloaf, and you wanted something else, you could get a salad or different things that could be added to your meal. If you were having pears one day, you could substitute it for applesauce or whatever. So, there was a lot of options there, and that was the only place I saw that. They gave you more like salads or whatever."

"The building got a face lift!!! It’s being updated and remolded. They do Omelette day for residents, Bingo, celebration and education for other cultures. They have bilingual staff members. Staff is very friendly and go out their way for their residents and family!"

"My brother is currently at The Bay at Sheridan Health and Rehabilitation Center. They seem to be doing OK taking care of him, but it seems pretty crowded there. I've seen the food that they serve, and it looks fine to me. We bring him pizza and sandwiches now and then because some days he doesn't like the food and some days he does. The staff has been polite. They do call if there's a problem. I think they're doing their job. There was one nurse who I liked, but she quit. They're very busy. They don't seem to have enough staff. Sometimes the phone doesn't get answered."

"I'm currently living in St. Joseph Villa inside St. Joseph's Homes and Rehabilitation Center. I chose them because of the price. They provide options for the food: you can cook for yourself or you can have your food brought directly from the nursing home to your apartment, either way it's good. But I cook for myself, I like it that way. The nursing home is gigantic. The people are very, very nice and there are a lot of activities. "

"We are on a waiting list at Tudor Oaks Senior Living Community. Some of the retirement homes do not have advanced care and they're not certified for advanced care, but Tudor Oaks has all levels of care. I liked the layout of the rooms and the services provided. The social services, and physical therapy services, all of that was very helpful. They would provide church services. I saw the library, the eating area, the restaurant area, and the entertainment area where they have movies and speakers come in. There was an outside gazebo area where they had live music in the summer. They had outdoor patios, which were very, very nice. The place was kept very, very clean. The staff was cheerful, and helpful, and wanted to express how happy they were."

"My mom moved into Maple Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. As far as I can see, I'm pleased with her care. She needs help cleaning herself up, and she's very satisfied with the help. She's enjoying their food. She said everybody is nice to her. She has no complaints. My mom has a private room. She shares the bathroom with the other room. It's kept clean. It's not the newest facility, but everything seems in order. They have a common dining area. My mom's getting their meals in her room. There is an area that they can go out to in the summer, like a courtyard. But there's not a lot of land with the property. They have an activity sheet every day. They have movies and bingo."

"My father was at Cameo Care Center after a recent hospitalization. The facility was in good repair, no odors of urine that I have experienced in other facilities. The residents appear to happy and are engaged in activities whenever I visit. If I have a concern or complaint, there are staff members available to assist. If they cannot help me, they get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I have a large family and each member can have different expectations. The facility tries to accomodate each one of us to the best of their ability, even when we are being difficult to deal with. They try very hard to make sure that dad is comfortable, safe and adjusting. He is picky with his food preferences, and changes his mind frequently and the kitchen staff does whatever they can. Our family has had an overall good experience at Cameo. "

"After falling and breaking a bone in her leg, my mom stayed at Golden Living Centers. The staff here were wonderful. They provide a free meal for the family and the meal was served at their "bistro". We had a choice of two entrees and were served like we were in a restaurant. My mom was kept very busy with activites like bingo and movies. All the other patients were friendly, happy and outgoing and my mom made many friends, some cried when my mom left. The staff took the time to treat the patients as people, listend to their wants and needs, doing what they could to fulfill the needs. My mom talks about this being the only place she would go back to for rehab. When leaving the nurses that were discharging her welcomed her to come and visit whenever she wanted. Her stay at Golden Living Centers was a wonderful experience. "
