My mom was in The Gardens of Mount Pleasant. The best I liked about them was the fact that the people came out and they paid attention. They do their round and they take vitals and they're off doing their job. And those people are more alert, but they are still doing vitals and doing their job. And they were the ones who discovered my mom was sicker than anyone knew from her coming from the facility in Kenosha. They don't even have a constant on-site nurse, but they knew enough to keep their job done and go beyond. My mom never complained about their food. She likes it there. On the outside, it was just as beautiful as the inside and well-kept. And they had hand sanitizer. When you first walked into a room, it was just as big as the other place. They didn't have two residents there. It's only her room, you go straight in, and she had a bed to the right, a dresser, and the TV. And then on the left was a nice chair she sat in. There was a big, nice window where she could see a view, and a nice yard. I believe they had everyday things like bingo. I know with the itinerary that was given out, that was pretty full. They have something every day for their residents.

This place is terrible. My grandmother is staying here and they treat her like crap. They don't take her to any of her appointments. She passed out and they waited 6 days to take her to the emergency room. They won't let any of her family see her and she's living out the rest of her days there basically. She has cancer and her family is stuck wondering if we will ever see her again. Her church friends can see her, but not family? It's stupid. Do not reside here.

There was only one staff member that was kind to my mother checking on her and had her rushed to the er when she needed help.the rest of the staff couldn't be bothered with even adjusting the room temperature when it was set for 85 degrees, she's under a blanket and no glass of water or even a call button in reach. She was in the rehab center.

My grandmother is here for a temporary rehab stay and every day she has been here we have had a negative experience, tonight being the worst. Being a CNA, & certified med passer, watching the nurse stab my grandmother with her blood thinner injection made me cringe in pain, it was awful, and not the correct way to give that injection. Shortly after she dropped my grandmothers pills on the ground, and proceeded to kick them underneath her bed. This is absolutely unacceptable.

The staff at Becker Shoop was really good to my father, and so was the care. It was temporary, so he ended up staying with a roommate. The room was adequate; it met the need at the time. The food was good, and the social recreation was there as well.
