"I toured here. It's a beautiful site. Just for viewing it, it seems that it would have everything that we would need to take care of my mother. It was a nice place. I just did a walk-through, and it was pleasant and clean, and they offered many services. The staff took me on a tour of the facility. We went into one room that she said would be similar to a room would my mother was to stay there for the short period. She took me around the dining room area, and the courtyard. The rooms are beautiful, as well as the bed, the TV, the bathroom facility, and the walk-in shower. She also mentioned that they would have care and that they would wear their button in case they needed assistance for anything. They had an art classroom. They had everything that I would think a person would need to do activities. I know she mentioned activities if they want to participate in playing games or things like that. They have a movie area to watch movies, an exercise room, and a beauty salon. It had many, many amenities where you don't necessarily have to leave the building, especially for the hair salon."

"Bickford of Tinley Park was very nice. The staff was very good, very helpful, and very thorough in explaining everything. The dining area was very nice and roomy. The food was very tasty, and the chef was very nice. Every room had its own bathroom. Their price seemed to be competitive, and the location was nice. "

"I visited Brookdale Orland Park. I did not care for the rooms, but the place was definitely nice and clean. People seemed very pleasant. They had a list of activities. "

"Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park was very nice. We thought it was clean, very personable, and the people were friendly. Their rooms were very nice and it didn't look like a nursing home or a hospital room or anything like that, but it looked very homey. We just saw their media room, dining room, barbershop, a little store that they had, and their exercise room. I thought the place was great. The staff was wonderful, very, very informative, and very friendly. Everything was clean and in good shape."

"The way Victory Centre of Roseland was laid out was very nice. The apartments are beautiful and everybody seemed to be interested in what was going on with the residents. It was very nice, and the residents seemed to be happy there. During my visit, they were preparing for a bowling tournament using a Wii. They had a bus to take them shopping and on outings."

"I had a one-bedroom unit apartment in Victorian Village with a kitchenette, a huge closet, and a bath. I was able to stay there and could visit my husband in the rehab unit. The staff was absolutely outstanding. I was spoiled. It was an absolutely beautiful community with excellent home-cooked food. "

"We chose Marian Village because of location, the 2-bedroom apartment available was very beautiful and of right size and it had a good location in the building, and we liked that we wouldn't have to cook anymore. We could have dinner there, but we have a full kitchen and we can cook if we want. The place is beautiful, well run, and very clean. The people are very friendly, and they have a lot of good activities, both on-site and offsite. It is a Catholic organization and it has a beautiful chapel, and we are Catholics. We were very well treated and the lunch we had was very good."

"Victory Centre of South Chicago was a lively place. The staff and the rooms were very nice. It almost had a hotel feel to it. The young lady took me around and showed me their activities and they have a lot going on. She was telling me about a prom night coming up in May and a casino night in June where friends and family could come in and play some games. They had a lot of people that were in the lobby area and everybody looked to be enjoying each other's company. It was nice."

"We went to look at Franciscan Village. They showed us the cottages or homes. It was very nice. It's religious or Catholic-oriented, which was a plus for us. The location for us is probably not good because we're further away from our family. The staff was very informative. The structure was very clean and up-to-date. They had a place to walk with the stations of the cross. The unit that the staff showed us was an individual little home, where one side was a parking lot and the other side was an open field."

"A wonderful concept of providing care. Instead of being an institutional environment, it is a comfortable single-family home that has been designed for this purpose. My grandmother loved the fact that she lived in a single family home, with three other residents, while getting all the help that she needed. I would recommend Golden Age to anyone who is looking for a place that offers assisted living. Like they claim...at Golden Age you don't live in a home, you live at home."

"The Wye Valley apartments were very nice but they were very small. I would have to get rid of an awful lot of stuff before I'm ready to move in there. The group that I belong to is having a meeting there in some of their other rooms. It seemed to me like it was an appropriate place. They have been very generous in providing those. The services they offered to the group that I meet with had been very good. They offered a very nice meeting room, they provided lunch for us and that sort of thing. The food had been quite good. "

"My grandmother moved to Two Hearts Homes for Seniors - Crown Point. It's a small community of only 15 bedrooms. The number of caregivers to residents ratio is awesome. The caregivers there make the food for the residents. It's got a big open-concept kitchen, dining room, and living room, so they all eat together in that same room. They watch TV together. It's family-owned and operated. The owners have been great to work with. The administrative team has been great to work with. It's more of a home setting than a facility setting. It's just a family vibe. The staff is very outgoing and tends to go above and beyond. There's a small number of residents. So, they can take the time to get to know the people. It's very intimate. The facility is clean. The facility is brand new. They just sent me a picture of my grandma painting a coaster today. The whole building is in the shape of a U. At the bottom of the U is like the living room, the kitchen, and everything else. Then the branches of the U, the one bedroom, the large studio apartments, and they have a nice bathroom and nice-sized high ceilings."
