I visited this facility

I went to Seaton Chesterfield and the director did not show up. I waited 30 minutes. I don't know why she didn't show up. I waited 30 minutes to ask for one of the nurses to give me a tour and that was disappointing. The memory care unit is very small. The rooms are well-sized and configured in a strange way. Each room has a foyer and that's not usable. That's a waste of space.

My mom moved into Seaton Chesterfield. The staff seemed to pay good attention to the residents. They seem to have good programs for them. They seem to care about the patient.

My mother has moved into Seaton Chesterfield. We chose it because it's all on one level, and the people seem friendly. It isn't complicated for her to get around. There are areas where she could sit and interact with other people. She has a nice bedroom with her own private bathroom, and she has a big window and a nice-sized closet. When you walk in, there's a lobby with a huge fireplace right outside of the dining room. There are lots of windows and there are sofas and chairs. There's an activity room behind that. Then behind that, there's a courtyard where you can go outside. She likes to go to the front porch because there are some rocking chairs. There's a little gathering lobby in the middle of where the rooms are, where they'll gather and watch TV, and then there's a little library nook there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad's a resident of Seaton Chesterfield. I like the people there. My dad is not easy to get along with, and I think that made it a little bit more complicated. My dad said that he didn't like the food. When I looked at it, it seemed like it was nice. The people were really nice. They kept the room clean. Everything was clean. They had a big TV room. On Sundays, they have people come in and have activities. They have a therapy place there. They have a lot of problems with the water. My dad would call me and say there was no hot water. It was several times. I thought maybe they would lower the price for that month because it would be almost like three weeks without hot water, but they did not. They didn't keep us informed. The activities were really nice. They had a lot of activities going on, and they give them drinks and snacks. They always encourage the people living there to get out and do stuff, like play some card games or activities with the other residents. At one time the prices went up, and I didn't even know they had gone up. Half the time, the water wasn't working. When my dad started, it was $3900, and it was that for a long time. Then all of a sudden, we found out that had gone up to $4600. Then before we knew it, it was $4900. I didn't even know they were going to change it. They would have let me know if there was a problem.

I visited this facility

I toured for my father. I thought that the staff that I met was wonderful, and that was really a big selling point for me. I think she was the director. She was just wonderful. She could relate to me, and I could tell that she was really passionate about what she did. She really cared about the residents. The facility was a little bit older and was a little dark, and I didn't like that. They did have their activities and things. I saw one of the rooms, where they eat, and also their common area. The room was spacious. It was clean, and it looked like it would have been a comfortable space.

I visited this facility

The staff that greeted us was really nice. The tour guide was very informative, able to answer all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable about what was going on. They knew everything that was happening. It's kept very pristine. Everything's on one level. It's spaced out with different residents on different sides. I thought they had a good layout. It's secure because you can't get in and out the door unless you have the codes. We checked out the memory care mostly.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My uncle moved here and it's all on one level, which seems to be a nice change from being in a big building in a big community, because it's a smaller community. Everybody seems to be very friendly. I'm hoping that it would be easier to get in touch with people there because it's a smaller community. All in all, it just felt good. We met a few people and they seemed to be very nice. His room is very nice, we like it. That's one of the reasons why we moved him there. He's got a nice little view. The size is equivalent to or even bigger than the one he'd been in. We talked to him over the phone and he seems to be doing fine. The people that we've had to deal with have been very responsive and helpful. We've met the primary staff there and I like the way they're handling the lunch and dinner shifts so they can maintain separation but, at the same time, socialize by eating in a group with plexiglass between them. I think they're doing a really great job. They bend over backward to get my uncle moved in. They moved him in, they sent their movers, and they did everything. They made it easier for us. I don't know if that's an unusual circumstance because they knew that everybody is getting forced out, but they made it very easy for us.

It is wonderful. My brother is very happy there. There's three meals a day, laundry, and they bathe him. I'd recommend it to anybody. The staff is absolutely great and such a nice place. The rooms are decent but nothing special. The place is clean. I love the dining area. It's really nice, bright, and cheerful. My brother says the food is absolutely delicious. The activities are amazing, and every time I go there they're doing something.

It was all assisted living. The studios were small, and they did not have a kitchen area. They serve three meals a day. They have a community room where they play bingo. The staff was very nice.

I'm very satisfied with them. I was particularly impressed with the staff and I like the level of activities they have for their residents. I would recommend them. The room is lovely. I've only eaten there once, but I found the food to be good, and my mother seems to be happy with the food.
