"My mother was here. It’s small, two floors, very nicely appointed, and a lot of the downstairs rooms opened to a beautiful courtyard. They were attentive, thorough, and did a good job. It was called the deluxe studio, which was just one room, and it was nice and small but had a kitchenette with a little refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. The food was good. There’s a chef that’s been there for nine years who is very good, so there was a choice of menu items at each meal, and the food was hot, attractively presented, and tasty."

"The Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End is very clean, friendly, and welcoming. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well-kept. The food is very good and he's enjoying it. They have lots of activities and socials. They have a wonderful barbershop. I think the main things he's been enjoying are the people and the dining."

"My aunt has been in Commonwealth since September. It's very nice. The people were very helpful in making her transfer from nursing and skilled care to assisted living. The price is very reasonable, and she likes it there. They have assisted living all the way to memory care. When you first walk through straight head, you'll see the dining hall which looks like a restaurant, and it is really nice. To your right is memory care and it's a secured location. The building is U-shaped. To the left down the corridor into the bay area is a wide screened TV. They do a lot of their bingo and activities there. There's a nurse station right there too. They got private and semi-private rooms, which are really nice and spacious. All the bathrooms are handicap accessible. The outside yard is real nice with flowers outside. They do all kinds of activities during the day and they go on day outings. There's something going on all the time. "

"Bickford of Chesterfield was very nice. This place was our second choice if we didn't have room in the facility my mother got into. It was a pretty new facility. We only met with the person giving the tour, and she was very nice."

"I was able to visit Morning Bellgrade, and it was very good. It seemed like a nice place. For assisted living, it was fine. I did see a whole lot of interaction with the residents, but the person who gave me the tour was very helpful. She was very forthcoming with information. The rooms were adequate, and the dining area was good. "

"I toured Spring Arbor of Salisbury it's very close to where I live. We didn't like that one because I want independent living. I'm not ready for assisted living yet. They're very nice, very informative if I was ready to make a move, I'd probably be a little more interested than I am now. They're beautifully laid out, everything's accessible, no problem, and it's very spacious. The facility is very neat, well-landscaped, and decorated very nicely. I would recommend they go to see it. It's located within my range, it's accessible to where I am now in, as far as shopping and all that stuff."

"Brookdale Midlothian was well laid out and very clean. The location was excellent and very convenient to other shopping areas. The staff was friendly and offered me lunch, but I did not have time. I saw their dining room, and it was very nice and offered a lot of choices that I think I would enjoy. The residents seemed like they were all cared for, pleasant, and happy. They were talking to each other. Everyone was clean and fresh, and that made me feel good. "

"I toured Auburn Hill. It was wonderful. It was on the water reservoir. It's a beautiful place. I loved the water and the facility. The memory care portion of that was very impressive, but the driving distance and the traffic were just way too much for my friend's husband. It was a great facility. I'd like to be there. I loved it, but they wouldn't bill insurance. They had areas for the people in memory care that were outside and very nice, but didn't have as much freedom moving around. One thing I liked about their memory care was that it was fairly small. The smaller the patient population, the more attentive the staff are going to be to them, and they were well-staffed for memory care. They were wonderful and spent plenty of time with us. It was great."

"We're going to place my mom at The Haven Assisted Living @ Eleanor because it might be a good match for her. She's going to be the 6th person in this house. They have live-in caregivers there 24 hours a day. What I liked most about it is the low resident-to-caregiver ratio. They're licensed to take in only 7 residents. They kept the place very clean, and there was no odor whatsoever. I saw the residents and they were all dressed and clean, looked like they were all cared for. The place is like a 2000-square-foot home that they've converted into assisted living, so it's more home-like. It's this large ranch-style home with a big dining area right off of the kitchen, a large dining table with chairs. I would have to take mom to her doctor's appointments, but they have a hairdresser that comes in. I even saw a bunch of ladies with their feet up in their chairs and they were doing their toenails. They have a deck out back and they're in a big corner lot, with fresh fruits and vegetables in the garden. Jackie was very good. She knows her product, she was very casual, very upbeat, and very friendly. The outside needed some painting and upkeep, but that's all."

"We chose Cha Cha Care Home for my mom. She's with good people and she's receiving much better care and much more quick response compared to where she was at. For the most part, it has worked out well. I had a couple of issues with the food that they were serving, but overall, the quality of care that she has been receiving has been superior compared to the other facility she was at. Most everybody that my mother has worked with, we've been pretty satisfied. They've got a couple of issues, but for the most part, we've been satisfied with the care and the demeanor. I've been there several times where they were serving them hotdogs and that's not exactly a healthy choice. I think my impression is that there's more focus on quick and easy things to make versus the overall quality of food. This facility is a single-floor home with several bedrooms. I understand that there are a couple of other homes across the street and another one within the neighborhood. And I'm assuming they're probably broken up according to the care needs of the individual. Most of the time during the day, there are four women in one particular room with a television, and that's where they spend most of their waking hours. And then there's the dining room right next to it. The place itself is not ideal, it could use some paint and fixing up. But generally, it seems to be clean and warm. I know my mother is getting regular baths. I'm generally satisfied, except for a couple of issues that are not major complaints."

"Tapp Family Home was very nice. It was a home that had been converted to a facility. It was very clean. It looked well organized and had no ill smells. They had a nice gathering room. The staff was very supportive and seemed very open. It was a nice and easy conversation. They were very personable. I liked them. There was nothing wrong with the place. I would place my aunt there with a clear conscience. They did activities. They had a really nice deck that would be delightful for spring and summer. They had a well-accommodated bathroom that was really big and accessible."
