"We did a tour of Bickford of Chesterfield, and several items made it on my list. It was very clean and well taken care of. It was a single floor and had gardens that people could walk out into. They have a very flexible menu and dining venues. The structure was relatively new, every five years or something like that, I can't remember. The personnel and staff all seemed very friendly. This combination of things was a general impression. It was just that well-kept facility. They had nice-sized rooms. I like the layout of the 1-bedroom facilities, and I like the amenities"

"My parents lived at HG for a little over a year and the staff there took very good care of them. While my dad was reticent at first (they went because of my mom's decline in health), he quickly became a huge fan. They worked to accommodate their individual needs and preferences. The therapists are awesome, and the staff makes you feel like you've left your loved ones with others in your family. There is a lot of love and care in the building. I recommend HG very highly. "

"We have just completed the paperwork and approval for a relative. Although the paperwork is extensive and full of legal forms they provided help. The staff has been very helpful and cooperative. We all eat a lunch at the facility. The meal was simple and yet everything that we hoped that it would be. The activities seem to be adequate. The facility is clean and comfortable. We will update is there are any changes."

"We chose The Harmony Collection at Hanover for my parents because they have both independent living and assisted living. We are also very pleased with the staff and the apartment they moved into. It just seemed like a good fit. Luckily, up until this point, they've been very happy. They are there under independent living care. The place is large, very spacious, and probably the nicest apartment of all the ones we had the chance to look at. One meal a day is included. My parents usually have dinner, and they're very happy with the food. I have tried it, too, and it was very good. They have activities daily, and my mother has been able to partake in some of those activities. My father doesn't have quite the ability, but he has participated as well. They have happy hours twice a week, and they have additional celebrations. They're having a formal celebration this evening, where they're all dressed in formal attire. It's been very good and very pleasing."

"I toured Harmony at Hanover. The people were very nice. They cared about the people that they were taking care of. It was really clean. I was surprised it smelled like home. It was beautiful. I liked it. They let me see everything in the manager's office. They even showed me the part that was remodeled. The people there seemed to be happy. I loved the way it looked and how welcoming the workers were when you got there. They didn't know I was coming, and this is surprising. It was nice. Some people have a one-bedroom. Some people got a two-bedroom, and I think it was only one person who has a studio apartment. They had a bookshelf with books and games on it for the people to use, and it has a little garden there at the back."

"The staff at Spring Arbor was good, but we just talked to the sales people. Their rooms were very nice. The dining room was neat and clean. They had a lot of daily activities like bingo. "

"Pleasant family atmosphere. Sincerely caring staff and a home like feeling. Spacious living room and nice clean rooms for residents and assistance is available 24/7. Timely laundry and care to personal needs. "

"My mother currently resides at Southerland Place. I have been very pleased with the care that my mother has been receiving. The caregivers have been excellent and I truly believe that each one of them love my mother as their own. There has been great communication between the staff and my family on the care plan and any changes that they see in my mom. My mother fell one night and she told me that they quickly came to her call for help. After they had checked her vitals and made sure that there were no issues, the nurse called me at 12:30 am to tell me what had happened. Even though it was late, I was impressed that they called me to let me know what was going on. Management has an open door policy and is very accessible. I also like that they are always having activities that gives the families a chance to have fun with their loved one. The week before Thanksgiving they invited all of the families to come to a Thanksgiving feast and there was close to 200 people that attended. It was a full Thanksgiving dinner with all of the traditional foods and they had live entertainment. Everyone had a wonderful time! Also the food has been excellent each time I have eating with her and at the parties. It is a tough decision on placing a loved one in an assisted living facility, but I am truly please with my decision of the Southerland Place. "

"Sancerre Atlee Station is brand new. It's within three miles from our daughter's home and also about three miles from a local medical facility hospital in the area. We liked the apartments that were available. We liked the size, what they looked like, and all that. The staff was very informative and answered our questions. The facility was very clean."

"We liked what we saw at Sunrise of Richmond. The living atmosphere seemed to be quite cozy and comfortable. The rooms were open and spacious. The rooms have privacy, but there's also a community feel. They have different stations for different memory triggers, and some of them were quite unique, and well thought out, which was impressive."

"It was really nice. The staff was very warm and friendly. They knew all the residents that we saw on the tour by name, so that was kind of nice. It was totally an assisted place. It was smaller, and the rooms were very smaller, but everything was really nice. I saw the dining area, and I saw some people eating. It looked like they had really good food. They provided transportation to doctors' appointments. The place was very nice. It was warm and inviting."

"My mom has moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End. The day we moved in, they were wonderful. They helped me with everything. I could not have been more pleased. They have a salon, and they give you towels. They supply a lot of things. They have music and they have different programs. My mom will be 101 in December, so she's not doing a lot of activities, but they do have a lot to offer. My mom says the food is very good. The building is very well taken care of. The staff members have all been wonderful. Regarding activities, they have a lot of bingo and cards. I have seen residents out doing activities and they seem to be having a good time. Overall, we're very, very happy where my mom is at now."

"Parkside Assisted Living is in a rural location, so it's quiet. The staff during the tour was like a car salesman, so it came off as being fake and a forced niceness. I had a cheeseburger and fries, which were a little bland, but it was a good portion size. It smelled like urine. The farther in the facility you went, the stronger the smell became, and it was really strong even in the cafeteria area, which was a turnoff. The room was pretty nice and adequate, so I have no issues with the room."
