"I toured Paramount Senior Living at Fredericksburg. Everybody that came and talked to me was very friendly. They showed me the dining room, which was nice, and it was very clean. Everybody was very friendly. I looked at a two-bedroom in the independent living. It was clean and nice. They were willing to remove carpet or put down a new flooring, whatever you wanted. It looked like it was well kept, so I would approve of that. The rooms are very small, even in the independent living, because you're probably eating your breakfast, lunch, and dinner downstairs. They have a refrigerator, and a sink, and you could probably get a microwave in there. The price that I was looking at is way beyond my budget. I can't afford it. The staff member said he has just started work there. He was very friendly, nice, and very informative. He understood the needs of people, and I think anyone that went there for their loved ones would get excellent service. I really didn't see any activities, but he said there were lots of activities. They have an arts and crafts room, and of course they have birthdays. They offer two options for the food. The upkeep was excellent."

"I visited Bickford of Spotsylvania, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was friendly, they took me on the tour, answered my questions, and I would recommend the place. It's all on one level, so it's very appealing, it's a complete circle, the décor is absolutely beautiful, the rooms were not huge, but adequate. They had place for a sofa, a bed, and the shower and bathroom were handicap accessible. They have a beautiful courtyard with flowers, and where people can sit. It's totally secure, you cannot get in there without ringing a bell, and somebody will let you in, so it was very appealing."

"I toured. They had great rooms. They have a doctor in-house who will coordinate their care with other doctors out of the house, so it's not much on the family members. They have a care manager who will go with them to the doctor's appointments. I thought that was amazing. They have great food and are pet-friendly. They go out every Thursday. It was a great place. The staff was wonderful, answered all my questions, and was enthusiastic, but not pushy."

"Potomac Place Assisted Living and Memory Care is small, well-run, and very clean. They have a lot of activities and my dad really likes their food. The staff has been very attentive, too. I would highly recommend them. We're just very pleased."

"Brookdale Lake Ridge had the best deal of all the places I looked at. Their regulations for the staff are much more rigid because they do fingerprints and background checks. All CNAs have to take a licensing exam, not just a certification, and they have to come from a reputable school. The senior management staff is very good. I am very pleased with the staff because they are really good in working out accommodations. They also have an activities director that's phenomenal, so the seniors always have something to do every day. The place is just as good as the management. They have a chef there that cooks food that tastes 5-star restaurant quality. He is phenomenal. They have a very diverse population there, which is good. It is also important for Brookdale that their residents know the names of the staff on their floor."

"Tribute at The Glen by Cogir was beautiful and nicely laid out. They had beautiful apartments with huge closets. It was nice in that respect. Their grounds were pretty. There were lots of outdoor spaces, different courtyards, and walking paths. The woman who did the tour was super great and super friendly. She listened to all our concerns and answered all our questions. She was the most well-versed in explaining levels of care and how that works, that they're kind of fluid and you can go back and forth between all of them. She was good. The menu looked amazing."

"After 58 years of marriage, me and my children had to make the difficult decision to place my husband in Evermore Senior Living. This facility was chosen after looking at several facilities. There has been no doubt we made the right choice. His room is roomy, bright, and looks out on a beautiful wooded lot. We were able to bring in any personal items, such as pictures,etc. They go the extra mile to personalize his care by asking what his favorite foods are, and providing them; along with favorite snacks. My husband likes to go for walks and a caretaker takes him out almost every day. He is getting so much personal attention, we feel it is almost too good to be true. I highly recommend Evermore Senior Living. Its like living in an all-inclusive resort."

"I chose the English Meadows Manassas Campus for my mom because it was closest to my other son's house. It's easier for everybody to be able to visit her. It's a brand-new facility and it's beautiful. The staff was super helpful. She's very kind and easy to work with. I enjoyed talking with her. They have all the standard needs that the patient would have, plus the rehab has an office right there in their facility. They have a salon. They have physical therapy. They have a movie room with big psychiatric recliners that you can even rent out if you want to have a party."

"We have visited Harmony at Spring Hill and my father is in there now. We are very happy with Harmony at Spring Hill. The meals are very nice. He has been in isolation, which is required for the first two weeks, but it looks nice. His apartment is beautiful. The facilities are very nice and the value for money is very nice. The area looks nice, but he can't take advantage of it. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood."
