Viva Senior Living at Stafford

I visited the memory care facility of Viva Senior Living at Stafford. One of the things I liked most was the residents, because they were so welcoming. The person who gave the tour was top-notch. She was very knowledgeable about her facility, and she knew people by their names. I observed her talking to a patient who had memory issues, and the patient was really disgruntled by the nurse, but she resolved everything within a matter of three minutes and calmed the resident down. It was refreshing. I would have picked that place. I knew my mom would have been in good hands. I would definitely give it the highest score from the overall look, the cleanliness, and the awareness of the staff with their residents. I didn't taste the food, but the menu looked very good. The place did need updating. They lock everything down at a certain time. They said that even though my mom would be in her apartment, the way it's set up, she will still remember where her apartment is. If she ever gets lost in the facility, someone will always find her because it's locked down. The good thing about it is that the residents outside of memory care would immediately call the staff if they notice a memory care resident walking where they are not supposed to be.

My dad will move in. The staff seemed very warm and welcoming. It was clean and nice. It seemed that everyone was engaged. It felt more like home. They made me feel very at ease and very welcomed. It was just very comforting. They were very pleasant. The place is very neat. They have activities at the memory care unit. They have an activities person, too. They have a courtyard. They have the things that I was interested in.

My experience with the staff was good. They were setting up for a family night when I was there. I saw a menu in the dining area, but I didn't taste the food. The rooms were comparable to the other places that I've seen.
