"Harmony at Chantilly was too expensive. I couldn't afford to live there. It was a beautiful place. I would have moved in the next day if I could. It had everything that I would have wanted: meals, housekeeping, beautiful apartments, and all the facilities I needed. The tour was conducted by Natasha, and it was excellent. She answered all my questions."

"Advent Care is like a house in a neighborhood. It's a nice idea, but it wasn't quite what my aunt needed in terms of the bathroom being accessible. I think it would have been difficult for her to get around the house in a wheelchair. The lady was very helpful. Even when she knew that we weren't going to be able to do private pay, she shared resources with us on how to get financial help to try to get her into a comfortable situation. She even followed up with me later and sent me websites and stuff. It has two rooms, one has two beds, and the other only has one bed. She said her family lives there at the house, and there was a dog, which I know my aunt wouldn't like. She said that when her husband and her child are home, they help. She prepares meals, which is nice. My mom went with me, and she is in her 60s. She does have knee problems, and she had a hard time getting around. There wasn't a railing on the front step. There wasn't a ramp. She had to use the bathroom, and she had a hard time getting up off the toilet because there weren't the handicap bars where they needed to be. I wasn't comfortable with it. It is not well-equipped for someone who can't walk on their own. If they can get up and walk around, it is a nice little house, and meals are made from scratch. They had chairs and stuff outside, but it was a question of how to get them out there. There's no ramp. The lady said that they encourage them to be out and about, and they have TVs in the family room. She was very helpful, even knowing that we weren't going to be able to give them our business. She still continued to offer support, health websites, things like that to help us find a place and offered to even take my aunt temporarily for a lower price if we couldn't find a place for her to live, like if we couldn't get the Medicaid thing settled. She was a very, very nice lady. It was more physical equipment-wise that was questionable. The food looked good, like homemade fresh vegetables, chicken, that kind of thing."

"I toured Hunters Woods at Trails Edge. That was decent. I would have considered that. I liked the person that I spoke to. The place was very nice. I would move in there. I could see myself moving in there because it's up in Reston and I like Reston Town Center. They showed me nice built apartments. The apartments were lovely. They showed me the library. They have a walking trail that looks very nice. I like the library, and they showed me the painting room. I like that too."

"I toured Home Eldercare. The staff was pretty nice and tried to let us know what to expect there and what service they would provide. However, the only thing is that the living conditions are a little bit different than what we expected. Two people will share one unit, and the bathroom is quite tight. I'm a little concerned about sending my mom there, and that's the only thing, but the staff seemed willing to help."

"Evermore Senior Living was beautiful. The amenities are great. It's like a luxury hotel, but what it lacked was the amount of personal care/attention and caretakers for the residents. The people who assisted me were excellent. The upkeep was also excellent."

"I can’t say enough glowing things about Tribute at the Glen. My dad moved here in January and they have taken such good care of him and my mother. His experience in the memory care unit at Tribute over the last two months was just phenomenal. He received top notch, loving care from every person there. My mom did too. She came to see him as much as she could and the staff and admins not only knew her, they went out of their way to make sure she was happy with the care my father was receiving and they provided a compassionate listening ear whenever she needed to process her feelings. My dad died on Tuesday and I can’t think of a more loving environment for him to have died in. Less than 12 hours after he died, a big bouquet of flowers from Tribute were delivered to my mom’s house offering condolences. If you can’t keep your loved one at home in their later years, you really can’t ask for a better place to have them spend their remaining time. The elderly are treated with dignity and respect here. They are well loved and taken care of. I’m very happy to chat details with anyone considering this facility – don’t hesitate to reach out. "

"I went to Brookdale Lake Ridge. It's nice. It is pleasant to be in a place where the people and staff are cheerful. It's nice for the residents to have activities. The dining room looks nice. I think it was the director who showed me around. It might have been the woman in charge of sales. She was quite nice and very pleasant to the residents. I could picture her interacting with my wife in a nice way that's important. The facilities were quite nice."

"I have found a place for my mother, and I'm very happy with Tall Oaks -- the cost and atmosphere. It's a little older. It's not sparkling new. My mother has severe dementia, so she is on the memory care floor. There are plenty of activities going on all the time, but she can't participate in much of that. There's always someone doing something with her. They take very good care and attention to her. They have doctors who come to the facility as well as a dentist. There are just a lot of people. There also seemed to be a good number of volunteers. It's a big place, but everyone knows who I am related to when I come there. They know where she is. She has a few times fallen out of her bed -- which happens -- and they call me pretty much right away after they've assisted her. She has a hospital bed, so she doesn't fall very far. They had an incidence of norovirus, and they immediately emailed everyone to asked family to please refrain from visiting and let everyone know that the residents would be taking their meals in their rooms and not the common dining area to try to limit the infection. "

"The Providence Fairfax has excellent facilities. It's very well maintained and very well cared for. The proximity is close to my sister, my nephew, and my nieces. So, we could have a lot of family support for my father. Our move-in experience was very good. People are very welcoming and the residents are also very welcoming and they socialize. It's a good location. There's plenty of parking for the families and things like that. They have an excellent chef. The main thing that my father is doing right now is physical therapy, which he likes, but they also have different outing trips. Sometimes they have activities where people come in and play the piano or do some musical activities. There's movie night and when the weather's nice and you want to sit outside, there is a rooftop. Some amenities are available for whoever wants to participate. The facilities are very clean and very well laid out. My father has a one bedroom so there's enough space. He has a nice size bedroom, a comfortable living room, a kitchen, and elevator access. They also provide laundry service and cleaning services. So, they clean once a week and do laundry once a week. Internet and utilities are provided. It's only ten minutes from the hospital just in case of emergencies. The staff has been very helpful, very friendly, and very supportive. It's like staying in a five-star hotel. The food is excellent. It is very expensive but they provide the services that you need. In the Fairfax, Virginia area, everything there was expensive so that's just what's in the area."

"Tribute at One Loudoun is a very clean environment. It's modern. The rooms were pleasant and there was plenty of light. They have plenty of services available, but everybody kind of has something similar to the services. But it was really the environment like the surroundings and the lighting, and Tribute at One Loudoun just felt like a home, not a last-stop facility. The staff members were very informative, helpful, and accommodating. They walked us through kind of what to expect from long-term care and how they would help us manage that, so that was helpful. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, too."
