"My mother is in Northern Virginia Health Care Commission at Birmingham Green for long-term care. It's good. Everybody there is very attentive. There's plenty of staff for everybody. They have bingo, trivia nights, a lot of games, and movie nights. The staff is really nice and really attentive. The food looked really good, and mom likes it. It's an older building, but it's very clean. There's no bad smell in there. It's on the pricier side, but it's worth it because 24/7 healthcare and all that are pretty expensive."

"My son is at HealthSouth. They’re great and doing everything they can to rehabilitate him with therapy five hours a day. They have a common dining room. I don’t know how the food is since I haven’t tried it, but he seems to like it. The patients select what they’re going to have at the next meal. At the previous meal, they bring out a menu with a selection of quite a few items. They can either go to the dining room or eat in their room. My son has only been there for a few days, so he has been eating in his room. Overall, there’s nothing to improve on. They’re doing their jobs. Their staff is friendly and seems to be working hard. "

"My mother is in Oak Springs of Warrenton. I picked them because they have an Alzheimer's unit that has full care. This place takes beautiful care of her. They have medicines to make her stop crying. They bend over backwards to get her back to where she is actually smiling, and I love it. I love that place. It is very pretty. They have a garden with tomato plants for each different unit. They have rehabilitation, a full long-term nursing care, and full long-term nursing care for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. The floors are clean. The food comes in on a serving cart that they bring to the table. It is not pre-plated; they plate it right there while they are waiting, and nobody gets cold food. It is absolutely wonderful, and the set-up is unbelievable. They have activities like music, movies, and karaoke. A guy comes in and sings. They play something called jingo. They have 3 or 4 different churches that come in on Sunday mornings. Every other week, they have a black gospel choir that comes in about 2:30 in the afternoon. I witness it when I come in there, and my mother loves it. They just think of just about everything. "

"My husband is in Fauquier Health Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. They do a lot of things there and have a very good physical therapy program. Most of it is physical therapy. It is clean. Everybody is very accommodating. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff is very accommodating, take the time to talk to you, and let you know what your loved one is doing. They are very good. My husband has a feeding tube in his stomach, and they feed him in his room and do everything for him. "

"Outdated appearance, kind office staff, nursing staff is combative and unaccommodating or unwilling to work with family members. They assume your loved one is being dumped off to die. Nursing care is substandard, wound care and feeding tube care was substandard and resulted in 5 day hospital stay for cellulitis. I asked for every service my family member was covered for and the PT/OT/Speech therapists were fantastic . If you can visit daily to insure best care, it is worth it for PT. Ask questions, engage in care management and visit frequently. A month and a half in and my family member was stable and strong enough to be moved to assisted living. One nurse and one nursing aid were caring and efficient. Lead nurses hated their job, patients and family members. Ask questions, pay attention or you get the service that matches the appearance of this tired looking facility."

"The staff that I have interacted with are all extremely polite and caring and know how to handle the residents. The food is delicious as they were kind enough to feed us when we came to visit. I really like how the entryway is all painted to look like different outdoors spaces and one nook has the sounds of birds playing near a bench. The only negative thing that I can think of is that the air conditioning unit in my grand mother's room was not working when I last visited. I assume that it has since been resolved. "

"My friend is in Dulles Health & Rehab Center. The place is very, very clean. This is probably the cleanest one that I've been to. The people are very nice. It's very easy to get around the space. I've only been there once, but my first impression was it's very a nice place. The staff members are very attentive. My friend wanted to walk to his room, and one of the girls noticed that it was still a long walk, so she came with a wheelchair, which he appreciated. He arrived just after dinner, so they made sure they grabbed him dinner so he could have something to eat as well. They were just very attentive and right there, as soon as you walked in, you were greeted by a nice gentleman right up front. I saw a rehab room, it was very spacious, and it had a lot of rehab equipment in it. The building itself is very nice. They have wide open spaces which I find to be nice. It is in a nice setting. The back window opens right in the back, so you can see the trees and the little park area, so it's nice."

"I would give Fairfax Nursing Home a high rating and that would be my first choice for my mother. I just noticed everyone seemed happier there at the time of my visit. They had a little breakfast room that had nice and comfortable furniture. Their rooms seemed to be spacious. We spoke to the person who gave us the tour and she was very good. What I like best about this place was that it did not smell. "

"This facility treated my great-grandfather with the upmost respect. The staff was very friendly and treated all of us like family. They even had a cat that would wonder the floor, or building I should say. It was just a stray cat and when asked about it they said that the residents really enjoyed it so they didn't want to put it out. "

"My brother is at Burke Health & Rehabilitation Center. The care seems good. They seemed to be attentive. The food is OK. The OT and PT are very good. They seem to be adequately staffed, which is something that's kind of unusual in the rehab facilities that we've been in in the past. I can generally find somebody and they come in pretty quickly. It seems to be older, but it's clean."

"The food is absolutely delicious. The best food I've ever had at a community and I've been to a lot of communities. The staff is so warm and caring and it seems like they truly care about their residents."

"I have very high regard for The Virginian. My wife stayed in their skilled nursing facility for about 50 days. The service was good and the meals were terrific. They fed my wife along with the other residents of the skilled nursing facility the same menu as the residents who were fed on independent living and assisted living areas of the facility. The staff was outstanding. They published a calendar of activities and brought them to my wife's attention, but there was no interest. The pricing seemed to be not that bad compared to other senior facilities. I would rank them very highly on the cost side. Given the pricing information on what it would cost, it seemed competitively pretty good. A woman by the name of Lorna, who manages one of the wings of the skilled nursing facility, went out of her way on the day of my wife's discharge from the hospital. This lady kept her office open till about 7:15 in the evening to ensure that my wife could be fully checked in. But that was just one of many, many five-star things that the skilled nursing facility did for my wife while she was there."

"Potomac Falls Health and Rehab Center has provided my wife excellent care and support. The health care staff ( RNs, LPNs, CNAs, wound nurses, etc.) are very caring and competent and do a very good job of providing what is needed ( meds, clothing changes, etc.). Even have a foot care person who visits to do toe nail trimming and care. The business front office staff and reception staff is also very caring, accommodating and helpful. The Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff is without a doubt the best ever. All are extremely well trained and knowledgeable in their profession. They have done wonders in getting my wife rehabilitated and are always showing how much they care. They are great at motivating and cheering on my wife to achieve rehab goals and utilize the myriad of equipment within the therapy gym effectively and efficiently. I have never seen such a motivated staff and they truly love their jobs and the patient always feels they are the most important person in the room. I can't say enough how much I appreciate what the PT and OT therapy staff has done in helping my wife rehab. My wife will be leaving to go home within days of this review which was only made possible by the efforts and support provided by this extraordinary therapy staff."

"My mom is doing great at Falcons Landing. She likes the place and the support she receives. They're wonderful. They're compassionate and caring. They go out of their way to care for her. The grounds are manicured and beautiful. Her room is spacious with a private bathroom. The dining room has a pleasant atmosphere and serves very good food. They also offer a variety of activities."
