"I toured Home Eldercare. The staff was pretty nice and tried to let us know what to expect there and what service they would provide. However, the only thing is that the living conditions are a little bit different than what we expected. Two people will share one unit, and the bathroom is quite tight. I'm a little concerned about sending my mom there, and that's the only thing, but the staff seemed willing to help."

"I loved Tall Oaks at Reston. It's a beautiful place with a lot of personality. It didn't feel like an institution. The activities and food looked good. The people were all happy, and I loved the staff. The staff who toured me around was wonderful. The rooms were nice, had plenty of natural light, and had as much space as any of these places have."

"Sunrise of Hunter Mill is a nice, comfortable place. It is well taken care of. They cannot really take care of special needs, but overall, I would say they are very good. They have bus trips and entertainment. "

"I visited Emeritus at Manassas on a Sunday. The staff was very friendly but limited. However, I’m not saying that they’re short-staffed. I found that the people there seemed very clean. The place was immaculate. "

"The Providence Fairfax has excellent facilities. It's very well maintained and very well cared for. The proximity is close to my sister, my nephew, and my nieces. So, we could have a lot of family support for my father. Our move-in experience was very good. People are very welcoming and the residents are also very welcoming and they socialize. It's a good location. There's plenty of parking for the families and things like that. They have an excellent chef. The main thing that my father is doing right now is physical therapy, which he likes, but they also have different outing trips. Sometimes they have activities where people come in and play the piano or do some musical activities. There's movie night and when the weather's nice and you want to sit outside, there is a rooftop. Some amenities are available for whoever wants to participate. The facilities are very clean and very well laid out. My father has a one bedroom so there's enough space. He has a nice size bedroom, a comfortable living room, a kitchen, and elevator access. They also provide laundry service and cleaning services. So, they clean once a week and do laundry once a week. Internet and utilities are provided. It's only ten minutes from the hospital just in case of emergencies. The staff has been very helpful, very friendly, and very supportive. It's like staying in a five-star hotel. The food is excellent. It is very expensive but they provide the services that you need. In the Fairfax, Virginia area, everything there was expensive so that's just what's in the area."

"We visited Sunrise of Vienna right after they opened. The community only had a few residents at the time we visited. The facility is absolutely beautiful. It is a five-star, modern, gorgeous hotel. It's really pretty. My mother-in-law prefers an older-style Sunrise or the more homey-style assisted living. However, for me and my husband, if we had been looking for ourselves, it's what we would have picked. They outdid themselves on just being a beautiful facility. They have pretty, nicely laid-out apartments. There are different views and stuff like that. It was just really nice. For the common areas, there were little outdoor patios. The staff was outstanding and very knowledgeable. We did not try the food, but the dining area was upscale and nicely done. However, even though I've been raving about it, there were only a couple of residents, so we didn't get to see the community as it would come together."

"Commonwealth Senior Living at Manassas was very nice. Unfortunately, it is under construction, but the people and the staff were nice. It was a good facility; just farther away. They didn't show me much, but they had a game room and activities going on at the time. They were just finishing a birthday party. The facility appeared to be very nice and very clean. The apartments were also very nice and seemed like they were good quality for the price. The lady who gave the tour was cordial and very professional."

"I toured The Residence at Colvin Run, and they were fantastic. They were good. What I liked most was the staff and the salesperson who gave me the tour. They knew people's names. They were saying hello to each of the residents and addressing people. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was a friendly, family-type atmosphere where people knew each other and felt comfortable. I met the chef and saw him coming out. He talked to the residents and greeted people by name. The salespeople talk to people by name, which shows a lot in the relationships and care they're giving."

"I visited my dad in the Virginian a week ago. It is expensive, but they do provide great services and great communication about what they are doing with my dad. The facility is five stories high, and it is all contained in one building. I know that they provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They could eat in the dining facility, or they could have food brought to them. I think they can order off a menu. They have a lot of activities, and they are opening up more things after COVID."

"Sunrise of Fairfax was a big facility, but it seems like they had it planned out for residents who get tired of walking a long way, so they had sitting spaces at regular intervals along the hallways so that elderly residents with mobility issues could pause along the way. It wasn't especially updated. They still had carpeted floorings and the hallways weren't especially spacious. All the people that I met were friendly. The residents that we ran into seemed happy. The dining area was nice and spacious and they had a little separate seating area from the main dining area and there were residents there sitting and just socializing. They also had a library with lots of different types of books and a computer for the residents to use. They were completely full and did not have a room they could show us."

"I toured English Meadows Manassas Campus. Everything is new. They have a lot of activities to do. The place is very bright and cheerful. There are places for families to come and visit. They had a group of people playing cards, and one of the staff was running a table, and looked like they were having a great time."
