Sunrise at Fair Oaks has been like heaven on earth for me and my family. The care has always been top notch, delicious food, great activities but the people have always been wonderful. The employees don't leave which makes my mom at ease. We were previously at another community but switched to Sunrise at Fair Oaks and found myself relaxed and at ease. They are very communicative and have an app that allows me to see what my mom does each day and will often send pictures of her to us. This was such a hard decision but the nurse Martine was such an advocate for my mom and we will forever be grateful. I would highly recommend this community.

SAD! I recently visited a relative at Sunrise of Fair Oaks in the Memory Unit and I was sicken by the way they treat the elderly-without a voice. Shoving food in their mouths, wiping their faces so roughly, no care. The place stinks with a foul smell-BM and residents were walking around with wet clothes from not being changed. Staff just sit residents in front of the TV and chat with each other. I can't imagine treating a dog the way they treat People that live there. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I have first hand experience with Sunrise of Fair Oaks and I DO NOT recommend placing your loved one at this facility. My dad had a Horrible experience at this facility. I warn all prospective families to avoid placing their family member here. Poor staff training doesn't even cover issues we experienced causing my dad 2 fractured femurs and life threatening health issues.Constant Bed Sores, and UTI'S too. He was wheel chaired bound to begin with, couldn't even sit on the edge of his bed by himself but yet they managed to Drop him numerous times from his lift due to not using Mandated Safety Straps and NOT following basic plan care for him. Tragic outcome resulting from trusting them to care for our loved one.Stay Away! Be sure to check out their licensing violations with Dept of Social Services.

My family member was neglected and injured by incompetent staff. The injuries sustained were never reported to us although severe enough to require hospitalization and specialized care after the fact. More often than not, our family member was left alone in a dark empty room with absolutely no stimulation or well checks. If we had not been active visitors to this facility we would NOT have known about the terrible injuries caused by impatient and inadequate staff members.

I had a family member who was in the memory care unit for Alzheimer's and every time I visited them, I left feeling sad and shocked. While there are a few select staff who genuinely wanting to be there and help the residents, a majority were just plain rude and should not be working with elderly- not nice to residents. The place was also dirty. I do not recommend leaving your family member at this facility, especially for the monthly costs.

My mom and dad have moved into Sunrise of Fair Oaks. We chose them because it was a good match. It has been good so far. My parents need assistance with daily living and it is close to our house, so that's why it is a good match. They have a lot of outdoor spaces, an activity room, and a hair salon.

I love Sunrise of Fair Oaks. It's newer and bigger than where my in-laws are, and they have lots of little nooks and crannies. There are three rooms right off the lobby, not counting the dining room, where you can take your family member and just sit and have a quiet family gathering. Upstairs they have several places where you can take family members as well. The staff member was wonderful, very cordial during my interview, and gave me a lot of information. The prices were cheaper than other places as well. The pendants they wear for emergency buttons are part of their cost. They have bingo, jigsaw puzzles, games, Easter egg hunts, a piano, and a TV room.

I was very impressed with Sunrise of Fair Oaks, VA. It's beautiful, spacious, and clean, and the residents I saw seemed happy. I liked that it was right next to the hospital. The staff was very nice. I liked the size and setup of the rooms. They had little refrigerators and were well maintained. The menu looked pretty good. The manager invited me to go for a lunch, but I haven't gone. I was impressed that they cook the food on-site. They have rooms for games and for cooking for your parent. They have patios as well.

My dad is a resident in the assisted living level of Sunrise of Fair Oaks. I have had several meals there and food is great. I'm amazed. The staff works very hard, I'm very impressed with them. Everyone seems very pleasant, and I've heard no harsh words. Even when you ring the bell, it sometimes takes half an hour during dinner to get them to answer. The facilities are clean, they have a very caring activity staff, and I see them engaging with the people. They have meals with the residents and they know them by name. I can't complain, it's a beautiful place, I certainly don't see any of the harsh things you hear about assisted living places and nursing homes here. My dad is in a companion room. When you enter, there's a shared a little kitchenette with no heating stuff and a bathroom, and the other gentleman and my father have separate bedrooms with a door. His room is fair-sized with a bed, nightstand, chair, dresser, and he has an armoire. Some of them have a built-in closet, and you can certainly make the room your own. It also has a little window which is nice because he can look out of his apartment. The bathroom is wide enough, so it's all good. Some of the activities I've seen include music, memory games, bingo, pet therapy, arts and crafts, stacking boxes for people oversees, and so on.

I met with the people at Sunrise of Fair Oaks VA and walked through it. It looked comfortable. The staff and the cleanliness were fine. There was no odor. It was clean. If we had to leave where we are now, we would very much consider this community. I don't have any complaints about it. They were very accommodating.

Sunrise at Fair Oaks was obviously clean, well kept, and well staffed. The rooms, however, appeared to be relatively small. I saw the menu and I was quite impressed. It looked like it had good fare, and the dining area was ample. They had a library, an exercise room, and an assembly room upstairs where family could have a separate gathering.

We visited Sunrise of Fair Oaks VA, and it looked like a very friendly, clean place. What impressed me were the people. The residents looked happy. I would have liked it very much if my husband went there.

Sunrise was the best. They were top-notch for activities, enthusiasm, and the community itself, and that was just what I gathered from a quick tour. They were really engaging their residents in activities. They had an upbeat attitude. The appointments were better than others I've seen; they were suites with a separate common area, and included a suite mate, not someone in the same room, which I and my father liked a lot better. It was fabulous.

My number two was Sunrise at Fair Oaks. It was really good; I really liked it better. It was better and had a lot more things to do. The person who toured me around was a bit older, more experienced, and she was super supportive and very knowledgeable. Her place was just a little farther drive away than the other Sunrise. It was a much larger place, so there were more options, and it was clean and nice. The dining room was also very nice. My plan was to tour my father, and we would eat lunch to have a meal together there, but it didn't work out.

I like Sunrise of Fair Oaks VA very much. It is just that the direction it is in is more congested with traffic for me to travel there. Nevertheless, the facility itself is very professional, and the person we met was actually a director who oversaw several other Sunrises. I like that they offer all levels of care so you could go there and plan to be supported throughout your whole time that you're there. There are also some options available for different apartments. Sunrise of Fair Oaks VA was very clean. It looked very pleasant. It was inviting. It sounded like the care would be good there too. It is near the hospital, so it is very convenient because you could have doctor's offices there.

The staff is very nice at Sunrise at Fair Oaks. She moved in January, they are very nice, and we just felt like it was everything that met her needs at this particular time. It really is like a normal room. She has a bed, a dresser, a closet, and a bathroom. It's just like a normal room. The food is very good. There are three square meals a day with snacks and everything. You name it, they have it. They have bingo, and they have memory games. They have all kinds of movies. They have everything. They need to have better communication with the family though.

Sunrise is really good. It is very high-end and really exceptional. The living environment is nice. Their amenities are excellent. They also allow pets. They pretty much have everything that we have wanted for my mother.

I visited this facility while researching a potential home for my mother in law. We picked this facility because it was centrally located. It is very well maintained and in a very good area. Another bonus was that is is close to the Fair Oaks mall where she could shop. The staff that we met were very helpful and friendly. At a glance the residents seemed to like it there. In the end she decided on another facility that was closer to my sister in law's home but I wanted to send a review because of the experience we had at Sunrise.

My husband's grandfather lives in Sunrise at Fair Oaks and he is extremely happy there. He was initially apprehensive about moving to an assisted living facility, but felt it would be the best for our family. While we were sad to see him go, we are happy that he is living in a clean, comfortable, place that gives him a chance to have a busy social life again. The staff is extremely professional, caring, and pleasant to work with. They listen to our concerns and answer our questions without any hesitation. Most importantly, Sunrise is conveniently located right by Fair Oaks Hospital making standard doctor visits, and emergency treatment, much easier to manage. Sunrise is expensive when compared to some of our other options, and government benefits do not cover much. However, knowing our loved one is in good hands and close to a good hospital in case of an emergency does make it worth the money.
