"My mom is doing great at Falcons Landing. She likes the place and the support she receives. They're wonderful. They're compassionate and caring. They go out of their way to care for her. The grounds are manicured and beautiful. Her room is spacious with a private bathroom. The dining room has a pleasant atmosphere and serves very good food. They also offer a variety of activities."

"I have lived here for 6 years now and have been very happy. The staff and residents are very warm and friendly. There is much to do to satisfy all your interests. Lots of programs and exercise classes to improve your health and mind. Indoor pickleball court. Enjoy the fact that I am a phone call away from repairing any maintenance issue…no worries. Nine restaurants with a variety of menus. The fact that there are continuing care and rehab facilities on site is reassuring The standout is, of course, the people who live here. A vibrant community with active and friendly neighbors. "Ingleside at Rock Creek was beautiful. The person I talked to was the head of the marketing division and he spent about 3 hours with me. He seemed to be happy to show me around. The apartments were large and beautiful. They had a one bedroom with a den and without, then two bedrooms. They had a really pretty balcony, too. They had exercise places and nice dining areas. It had high ceilings. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating."

"I looked at Knollwood Life Plan Community. They used to be strictly military, now if you were either in government or the military, that's the only time you could go into this place. It's in a very nice location because it looks right at Rock Creek Park. However, it was very quiet because it was a Saturday when we toured. They had very spacious living quarters there, their rooms were very big. Whoever I would meet, they were very friendly and very nice. The only thing they don't have, which is not going to be the biggest factor if I move in, is they only have outdoor parking so they don't have a garage there. Then again, they're mostly senior residents, and a lot of them don't have cars anymore, so I don't think that's the biggest issue at all. What's interesting is they don't have a meal plan. They have three meals a day but you choose when you want to go, so they're very open about that, and that is a good factor. The only thing is, I thought the food was mediocre, it wasn't great though it wasn't bad. You go to them and order what you want but they bring it to your table. All the levels of care are in the same building, just on different floors. Overall, the place was very nice, it's not fancy at all but they have very nice living quarters."

"My sister is at The Village at Rockville - A National Lutheran Community for subacute rehab. We chose it because it's attractive and clean, and they took the insurance. They've been great. The staff has been terrific. The food varies, though some of it is pretty unappetizing. A lot of things were shut for COVID and haven't opened yet. They had a cafe, a salon, and a fitness area. It's extremely clean and well- maintained. Medicare is paying for it. There's a shopping center with restaurants about five minutes away. There's nothing like walking distance."

"I have a very dear friend who's in Kensington Park Senior Living right now. The staff is wonderfully considerate and watchful of the residents. The food is five-star gourmet. It's great. The cleanliness is excellent. The rooms are adequate, very light, and very cheerful. They have all kinds of activities. His daughters did a lot of research and they felt like that was the top place in this area."

"They have three meals a day. They have two fishing ponds located out back. They have a doctor on the premises. They have a van that take you around shopping and things. The rooms are a little small. But since they cook three meals a day they don't have kitchen facilities in the apartment. "

"Ingleside at King Farm felt very comfortable. The attention that they put to detail in meeting the needs of the residents is very clear. I felt that they strive to make sure that all the needs are taken care of, and the residents are taken care of. The rooms were very nice. When you move in, they'll redo the carpeting, they'll do the flooring, they'll paint, and if the kitchen needs upgrading, they'll do whatever needs to be done in the kitchen. They got everything but the kitchen sink. They have a gym, an indoor pool, and a hair salon. They have arts and crafts. They have a billiard room and a card room. For transportation, there are certain places that they would take you, too, like doctor's appointments."

"As far as resources, Asbury Methodist Village has the most of all places I've been to. They offer different levels of living, from studio apartments up to your own house, basically. There they have a gym and a swimming pool. They have all sorts of activities like sewing, knitting, different clubs and things, and multiple eating facilities. There are a lot of people and a lot of social activities that are available for the folks who live there if they choose to. The food was very good, it was excellent. They have different layouts of food. They have buffets for meals on weekends. They have a little tavern/pub-style eating place. They have large dining areas and smaller dining areas depending on what you want to eat. They have full options and things for people as far as their diet and whatever they want to eat."

"I love the diverse community of Riderwood. It was large and multicultural, and coming from New York, I'm used to that. It's the type of environment that I'm looking for. It certainly has many options for socialization. The sales staff was beyond belief. They were amazing. They certainly were very responsive to the questions that I had and kept in touch with me. Any clarification that I asked for, they willingly provided. The only reason why I'm not going with it at this time is because you are required to put down a significant amount of money for the admission fee, hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's a continuing care community. I was scheduled to go back for an overnight stay, but I had to cancel it because of a family emergency. Certainly, they were a more longstanding community. They were not that old, but it was certainly very comfortable. They had extensive grounds for walking and for you being outside. It was extremely large and I loved that."

"Brooke Grove was nice. It is a beautiful campus but it is very expensive. I only talked to one person but it was just really expensive so I didn't bother to go any further. It looks beautiful and has a very good reputation; it came highly recommended. I had no idea about the staff except for one person and she was very nice. I didn't have a tour at all. It is a big huge campus. It is a beautiful location; I didn't go into any of the residences or any of the buildings or anything. I just picked up a brochure and left. "

"I'm on a waiting list at Collington A Kendal Affiliate. It has a 125-acre campus and I especially liked the floor plans of the apartments. It seemed much larger than other communities whose floor plans I had looked at. Each apartment has either a patio or an enclosed area. You don't feel like you're living in a hotel room. I was there twice for a meal and the food was excellent. It is a place which is transitional. Should I need assisted living, then that would be available. There was a swimming pool, all kinds of walking trails, and a chapel. There's a doctor who's available, and there's a doctor's office there should you need someone. You could just make an appointment. Parking was very good, too. The whole place was just lovely."

"Comfort Senior Care Facility was very nice. But I just didn't want to share with anybody. They already have somebody in there. Everything is on one floor. They have somebody there who cooks, cleans, and washes your clothes, but it wasn't for me. You had to take the shoes off because of COVID and wear a mask."
