"My mother has lived there since January of 2015 and she absolutely loves it! We visit her there (and spend several nights in her apartment) about every 6 weeks. It's so nice that I'd like to live there in my senior years. It's like one big happy family there, with all the residents and staff being so friendly. They have lots of fun activities, outings and the food and service is outstanding. I love swimming in their 91 degree salt water pool. This place is so nice that it reminds me of being on a cruise ship. They have live entertainment often, movies in the theater room nightly, fun activities and outings. We thank God every night that my mother gets to live there. She knows she can live with us again anytime she wants, but honestly it's more fun for her there. The Woodlands drive her to her doctor appointments and wherever she wants to go, plus several of her friends there still have their cars and take her places with them. My mom has never been happier. "

"Asbury is very nice with a large campus and different types of facilities for different needs. I have a 1,500 sq. ft. apartment with two bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen. It’s a continuing care community, so you got a little bit of everything as one progresses in their age and inability to survive. They have a healthcare center and housing for those that need a little more help, and independent living. They have a pool, 130 acres of grounds, two ponds, a lot of walking trails, chapel, and garage space for my car under the building. "

"The rooms are bright with high ceilings,many large windows, great modern kitchen appliances indirect lighting, large closets, and good siz baths and showers. The people[both staff and residents] are friendly and welcoming with smiles and gracious answers to all of our questions. The programs offered are highly educational and entertaining. Daily and weekly communications are highly informative. we are looking forward to the use of the large indoor pool when renovations are completed. The food is delicios with variety and many choices."

"My dad is living in the assisted living section of Buckingham's Choice. I visit him him frequently. I have encountered staff that are caring, responsive, and VERY attentive to my dad's needs. I have lunch and dinner with him several days a week. The food is excellent. The building and grounds are well cared for. There are activities going on every day for those who want to keep busy. My dad especially likes the gym. All the amenities wouldn't matter at all if the care he received was sub-standard. That's not the case at all. The nurses and other staffers keep an eye on Dad. If he leaves his apt. Without his walker, someone will stop him in short order to get it for him. It seems like everyone knows him, and whether or not it's their responsibility, they will answer his questions, get him what he needs or just stop to chat with him. "Vinson Hall Retirement Community is a very nice facility. People seem to be enjoying the food. They have confident nurses. My wife, and I were in an apartment and she had fallen down several times so she had to move to the nursing facility. My apartment has one-bedroom, two-bathrooms, living-,room, and a very small kitchen. It is very comfortable. My wife in the nursing facility has a smaller, but decent-sized room. We have several dining rooms. We have a little bar. We do trips to theatres. People come in here to play music or some speak about educational stuff. "

"I am at Kensington Park and I think it's a satisfactory place. The food is good and I don't have any problems here. Everything is doing very well. I am very happy to where I am now. "

"Ingleside at Rock Creek was beautiful. The person I talked to was the head of the marketing division and he spent about 3 hours with me. He seemed to be happy to show me around. The apartments were large and beautiful. They had a one bedroom with a den and without, then two bedrooms. They had a really pretty balcony, too. They had exercise places and nice dining areas. It had high ceilings. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating."

"The Independent Living apartments are large and very beautiful. The staff is awesome as they held my hand every step of the way. The residents are very friendly and welcoming."

"Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads was definitely in a nice location as far as the availability of grocery stores and some stores and being able to walk around. Their facilities looked very well maintained. Everybody seemed to be very pleasant and enthusiastic. We saw a couple of the apartments, and they looked very good. They refurbish each apartment before you get it. So when you go in, you've got new carpeting and new appliances. Every 12 years, regardless of whether you're still in it, they redo it. The facilities looked good. The swimming pool was big. The food was good. We had lunch there. I wouldn't say it's a five-star restaurant, but it was adequate."

"Brooke Grove is our first choice. It is our favorite place. It has cottages which have more room than those of apartments. The cottages also come with a garage. "

"I went to visit a friend in Goodwin House Alexandria. It was excellent and it's probably expensive. The room was fine, it was like it was luxurious, and it was very nice. It was excellent, it was very clean, beautifully maintained; it was a beautiful place. It was a huge complex, and I just got in and got out. I saw my friend in the nursing section, I walked through other parts of it, and it was beautiful."

"Greenspring was very nice. I loved it, and it's a great community. It's a big campus with beautiful rooms that are very modern. It has everything and every activity you can think of. They have a number of restaurants and a lot of dining options; it's very self-contained. They have their own store, a post office there, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a gym. It's nice and big with nice walking pathways. I like it, I'm just not old enough for it. The apartments are expensive too, because there's a down payment. You have to buy into it. They have activities like movies, billiards, and every building on the campus has a club house with card and board games."
